  1. Stuart McCall's Sheffield United just been pumped 8-0 at home by Newcastle
  2. I can't argue with that but that's 2, 1-0 defeats in a row now and a very distinct prospect of another defeat next week as well so all of the good start we had in the 1st 4 games will be undone. Unless the players we have start scoring it's going to be a long haul till January till we can get someone else in.
  3. Other teams know this, they get in front knowing we will struggle to get back on terms, our current forward line is woeful. I've not seen any highlights yet but I've no doubt we had our chances to score just like last week.
  4. My thoughts as well, it's been that long since we had a league win against them anything we get is a bonus, as usual heart says decent result and no defeat, head says a pumping one of these day's the heart will win.
  5. The only thing that UEFA considers is money and not upsetting the German, Spanish, Italian, French and English leagues the rest are Diddy leagues as far as UEFA are concerned. So it's make sure the big nations get as many games as possible ie get knocked out of the champions league dont worry have another go in the Europa or conference leagues etc thus generating millions in TV deals to be given back to already wealthy clubs. The whole system is geared up to make the rich clubs and UEFA richer, with nobody giving a feck about the Diddy leagues, the whole set up is not fit for purpose.
  6. It was a complete disaster over the two games football wise but the trip to Sligo was up there with the best of them.
  7. It's 32 years ago today since Motherwell played their first ever European game, in Katowice Poland in the UEFA Cup winners Cup, unfortunately it was a 2-0 defeat but what a adventure it was, apparently Joe Wark knew my father and everyone else's as well, happy days.
  8. Every striker irrespective of ability looks like they can score a goal at some point its the ones who actually put the ball in the net that are remembered. Shaws chance was a bad miss today he should have scored, and the same applies to Bair. Today was a big game, 3 points would have kept us joint top and 4 in front of Rangers heading into the double header with the ugly sisters and our lack of a cutting edge cost us that chance. Scintillating flowing football counts for nothing if you dont take full advantage of your dominance and chances by scoring goals.
  9. O'Donnell for me he had a great game only saw 1 bad pass from him he was solid at the back and always available to get forward.
  10. Just back in a feckin travesty of a result today, we played well and created enough chances to win 3 games, the one off the bar was unlucky but Shaw and Bair should both have scored with their chances, bad misses from both. As for St Mirren what a shower of dirty fouling bastards they are, 5 booked God knows how many fouls committed and they get lucky with their goal 2 shots on target and one goes in. Still 1st defeat of the season and still sitting 3rd its still a decent start.
  11. Aye SK was Brought in to clean up the mess left by the Alexander and Hammell shit fests that nearly got the club relegated, he's doing a great job so far, but I suspect it will be next season at earliest before we see the club fully back on track. And I hope that we have a good off field plan and strategy from the board / new CEO to complement the onfield improvements.
  12. Let's be honest about Efford he never really looked like he had the ability and / or the commitment to make it at premiership level so him moving on was the only option. Getting rid of the deadwood in the squad like Danzaki, Efford and others with no nonsense or letting contracts run down has been one thing SK has impressed me with.
  13. Correct the cousins of William from Gorgie aspire to be their Govan counterparts the sons of William its the same with the Celtic/ Hibs green hordes, the underlying bigotry, while not quite as bad as Glasgow is still there.
  14. Just watched the highlights on sportscene, brilliant performance especially by our defence, Casey and Mugabi in particular. I thought McGinn was unlucky for the 2nd booking and how the linesman thought Slattery was offside is a feckin disgrace, VAR showed he was at least a yard or so onside. A great 3 points to go joint top the season is moving along nicely the kettle is still on the boil.
  15. National league seems a bit high a level For Amaluzor from what we seen of him during his spell at Fir park
  16. Just ignore him, stop feeding the Trolls they are just boring now.
  17. Nah, Scott Brown is the bookies early favourite apparently, aye that will end well.
  18. At championship level he will score a few this season, he seems to be doing a lot better than Tony Watt.
  19. No stealing a win today, we deserved those 3 points after that 2nd half performance.
  20. Just back in, what a great result that never looked on at Half time, Killie lived up to their brutal away form 2nd half and we responded well. It's worrying that our most dangerous player 1st half and the only one who looked like scoring was Spencer playing at left back. Then another defender Casey gets us level, our alleged strikers are fekin awful, especially Efford he needs to be moved on and I really hope we get someone in before the window closes. SK changed the game bringing on Paton as we then took control in midfield and began to look threatening for once, I thought we'd blown it by missing the pen but I'll take a 97th minute winner every day of the week. A great 3 points and Joint top of the league after 3 games not a bad start so far.
  21. Just for info, who is our current acting CEO and are we still actively trying to recruit a new permanent one?
  22. The various member associations probably can set their own criteria for certain things, but they can't alter the laws of the game.
  23. The Kilmarnock and Livingston pitches must meet Fifa requirements or else they would not be allowed to play on them as per law 1 below. It seems the only requirement is that the surface is green. . Field surface The field of play must be a wholly natural or, if competition rules permit, a wholly artificial playing surface except where competition rules permit an integrated combination of artificial and natural materials (hybrid system). The colour of artificial surfaces must be green. Where artificial surfaces are used in competition matches between representative teams of national football associations affiliated to FIFA or international club competition matches, the surface must meet the requirements of the FIFA Quality Programme for Football Turf or the International Match Standard, unless special dispensation is given by The IFAB. so they may be crap surfaces to play on and seen as a financial and competitive advantage to the clubs but I don't think the authorities can do much about it given Current legislation.
  24. That's no way to start rumours more teasing details required, any dodgy haircuts on show that sort of stuff 😁
  25. What a feckin long winded whinge you really do go Into meltdown mode over things, okay so your not impressed by our recent signings, fair enough just say that then and move on to your next debating project. When you support Motherwell every season is an adventure will the players signed be sugar or shite, will we win anything, stay in the league, unearth a 29 goal a eason star etc etc, you pay your ticket money and take a chance. So just enjoy it we've been doing okay in the top league for 38 years now, loads of European tours, a few cup finals, a champions league spot so let's see how the season pans out and have this debate in January or next summer when we are entering year 39 as a top league side.
