That's the big problem I have, it's blatantly obvious over recent months that the team is put out with the same formation, same tactics and game plan, only the team selection changes, so why does SH and BK stick with a system / approach that is failing big time? We saw it under Alexander and its now groundhog day with the current management team, for me they are lost, no plan B, no change of formation and game plan to address the issues and give us a chance at picking up some results, its the same kick it long and chase week after week. Yes the players have to take some responsibility for the basic mistakes but if the team is constantly set up in the wrong formation , unbalanced etc with a game plan that fails every time then that's down to SH and BK, as I have said before for me they are out of their depth and frankly should never have been appointed. We need a new experienced management team, a new approach and game plan, some new faces in etc if we are going to survive, a very tall order at this stage of a season but it needs done. If we continue with the current management team and only bring in some new players, we will get relegated as it will be more of the same tactics that fail every week it seems now.

We really have wasted a fair amount of cash on utter dross when you see some of the names on that list, no wonder we are struggling now.

Watch him in a game he's lazy, jogs about in games, hardly tackles, waits for the ball to come to him instead of going to win it, too easily forced off the ball, rarely if ever tracks back and generally jogs through a game looking like he does not give a feck. Yes he has scored a few goals and yes we would be a lot worse off without them, but for long periods in games he's a passenger contributing feck all, if he applied himself a bit more, we could have had another few goals and eased the position we are in, his work rate is shocking. Today's game, Kevin Nisbet just back from a 9 month injury yo his ACL, never stopped running, chased everything and got 3 goals while KVV was watching him run past him,we need players to do that not watch the game pass them by.

After further questions and info from those older and wiser than me it has to be Nicky Clark then.

Would that be the "we were looking to bring back Jamie Murphy " rumours doing the rounds at the time?
-
There's a valid case to be made Dave, that the clubs Recruitment team could also use that answer when asked the same question 🙂
-
Surely the final say on who signs for the club is down to the manager, the board sort out the cash available, the recruitment team or person ie Daws identity possible targets within our budget etc and recommend players to the manager. However if SH does not like the player, thinks they won't fit into the team, does not rate them etc then they won't be signed. So various individuals have a part to play in bringing new players in but the final decision falls to SH.

We had 2 goals of a start and an extra man against Kilmarnock and we contrived to feck that up, most teams have problems either scoring goals or conceding them, we have both, no goal threat and a defence that can't keep a clean sheet both of which need to change right now if we are going to avoid relegation.
-
Hibs are on nearly as bad a run as us, 2 wins in their last 11 games I think so both teams badly need a win, therefore it will probably be another shitfest draw. 3 points would be massive though, with another couple of home games to come.
-
Spot on Dave, "attack wins you games, defence wins you titles" as Sir Alex Ferguson once said. So Don't lose goals and we wont lose many games, it really is that simple.
-
I never thought about that tbh, i assumed he was not injured and fit to play, but his game time has been limited this season so I still think Postecoglu does not rate him.
-
Turnbull not even in the Green uglies squad today, so as you say the manager obviously does not rate him.
-
He is fit to play allegedly, obviously needs minutes to get match fitness but that's an upgrade on Moult right away.

Since 1886 to 2022 who was the greatest player?
Spiderpig replied to SteelmaninOZ's topic in Club Chat
You can't compare players from different era's objectively the game played by the likes of Ferrier, Stevenson etc is light years away from what we see now as the game has changed so much. Every era will have its own goat so there will be a few, rather than 1 overall winner. -
So it's you that's steelboys alter ego, all of the random shite posted makes sense now, thanks for clearing that up.
-
Whit, £2 million on the pitch to make it compliant with VAR do you actually read comments before you post utter shite. The new pitch was only laid at the end of last season and its upgrade was feck all to do with VAR, so 5 months we have had it in use. So as I said before what improvements were not required or like most of your posts were you just talking random shite

Sadly the game will go to form and we will get pumped as much as I would love a win or even a draw I can't see it happening, we offer no threat up front.
-
Which renovations did we not need then? Pitch, stadium, toilets, catering points enlighten us to why they were not required, as no doubt you would be the first on here complaining about any of them being sub standard.
-
I know it's difficult for you at times but stop talking shite, how the feck can SH be blamed for us having a mad 2 mins and giving Kilkie 2 goals. What magic game management strategy would have prevented the OG from McGinn, or Kelly not saving a well hit ball that was in the air for ages. For me if the OG does not happen killie were never scoring the 2nd, as they were shite all game. So stop blaming SH for something totally out of his control.
-
Killie were never creeping Into that game they were feckin brutal from the 1st minute, 2-0 up against 10 men, the game was won until we fecked it up, not a Killie player near mcginn, the ball was heading out and he decides to head it wtf was he doing, as for their 2nd a good hit from Polwarth but ffs Kelly should be saving those, so 2 points dropped against a team that deserved feck all. That's at least 7 points we have lost that we should have had this season, that would have us joint 3rd, absolutely shocking from us tonight, no wonder we are heading for a relegation fight.
-
The main problem is the way the game is run in Scotland, the SFA /SPFL and every other body that has a say is not fit for purpose, in term of world football Scotland are a Diddy nation and they fail to realise that. We have guys from clubs like Brechin ffs having a Say in how football is run, all they want is a seat on the plane for international trips expenses paid and big match tickets for them and all their pals. Unless we get a structure in place fit for 21st century football with proper youth development, investment in training and coaching, help for the clubs, use of new technology, etc the game in his country will go nowhere.

Shay logan, ex Aberdeen right back now at Cove Rangers was training to be a plumber he could be a useful signing, or we could re-sign Ellis plumber https://www.phamnews.co.uk/footballer-eyes-career-as-a-plumber/

We are destined for a bottom 6, 9th place finish apparently according to the computer geeks employed by the SPFL Scottish Premiership: How does data suggest the top flight will unfold? - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63974438
