Wtf has that got to do with us being utter shite today?
-
Agree with that, it was one of the main concerns I had when the when the well society was being set up. We now have limited fan ownership and an input to the club which is great, but there is obviously not enough money coming in from that source to assist the club as they wanted to.
-
Looking for a rich millionaire or company with money to spare to come in and fund the club, does that imply that the Well society and the fan ownership initiative might not be as successful as the club had hoped. 🤔
-
No it's not, yes there are a few of the Darvel team that have played for league teams but they are part time and at Darvel because they were not good enough to play at a higher level and make a living solely as a pro footballer the WOS premier league is their level.
-
Let's be honest there is no way premiershipship sides should be losing to non league part time teams, Darvel rode their luck last night, a big deflection for their goal, an Aberdeen goal flagged offside, when Clarkson was a yard on, combined with Aberdeen being embarrassingly bad gave them the result. As we saw ourselves against Sligo if your attitude on the day is as bad as your play then you get nothing, this applies to any team you play, not just the lower and non league teams.
-
Craig Moore just came on as a sub for Darvel against Aberdeen in the cup, Darvel currently 1-0 up 76 mins played.

Draw at 6pm tonight, number 5 at Fir park is the ideal Draw.

TO be fair you've probably has a better chance of winning the lottery than seeing a Motherwell win in the last 12 months, as you say let's hope the goals keep coming and lottery of the new signings pays off.

Is that not what we have all been wishing for recently?

Limited run mental health charity strip, sold out in days, the club needs to get more strips in ASAP as it will sell, Fizoxy beat me to it 🙂

Unless you are spending ridiculous amounts of cash to buy an established player with a proven track record, and even then its no guarantee of success a long contract is a good move business wise, protecting your interests etc. But at our level every player is a punt so a 3 year deal might be the thing that seals the deal and I assume that the manager fully expects the player to do well, improve the team etc, so a long contract would be justified. Bringing in players on longer contracts also builds a team, assuming they live up to expectations, which is a better option than constantly having to rebuild a squad every season. As I said the 3 year deals were gambles that never paid off but if the players need to be moved on mid contract we can at least get a fee for them and recoup some of the investment, all assuming some other team want to buy them.

Never read the full thing just looked at the photo.

Right, a bit of happy clapping required here, as shite as we have been this season we are going to win this one. Arbroath had a decent season last year, but they've been shit this year and are struggling to avoid heading back to league 1 where they belong, player for player we have a much better team, so we will have too much for them. This game is the ideal opportunity to get a bit of confidence back in team, so I fully expect us to win. If it all goes Pete tong and its a repeat of the Albion rovers game a few seasons back, then feel free to remind me accordingly, 👏👏

Just back in, what a shitfest that was, especially our game management it is feckin brutal the number of points we have lost this season from winning positions is criminal. Apart from a couple of comfortable saves for Kelly, RC offered feck all and in all honesty deserved nothing from the game. We were brutal all over the park today, but eventually got our noses in front with a well worked goal, and then our complete inability to see games out kicked in, Solholm is a bomb scare absolutely shocking, penny made a bad error but sol stood and watched the man run off him to score. So a bad day at the office again, but there are still 17 games and 51 points to play for so it's far from over, teams don't get relegated in January. For me Crankshaw looked good, some nice touches, bit of pace so he could turn out to be a decent signing, and a full 90 mins for Jonhston were a couple of bright spots. So we still have plenty of time to turn this Current nightmare form round, unless SH walks, I can't see him being sacked before the end of the season but he needs help big time, I only hope he gets it.

Surely that should read "As the back end of a horse"

Premiership pedantry in operation are you weeyin in disguise? 😀

I can see where you are coming from, but the lower leagues in England is our market, and if there were better more experienced players available with lots of game time, playing every week etc, 1.we could not afford them and 2. it won't be in the January window in the middle of a season. This window is about taking a punt on players and hope they can improve the team, we signed the likes of Moult and Bowman with limited game time from league 2 teams and that worked out OK, not every punt pays off as we found out this season but it's about all we can do. The real work is done during the summer, as for the Japanese boy, all great players have to start somewhere was he not recommended to SH by Postecoglu at Celtic if the rumours are to be believed, so again another punt. Sometimes the expectations of the fans are very different from the reality the club operates in respect of finances, player availability and most importantly do they want to come to Fir Park. So given the circumstances I'm not sure what else SH and the board can do differently from what's happening now, he probably deserves a bit of slack and we can judge the signings in May to see what impact they've had, hopefully a big relegation saving one.
-
It's good to see we are broadening our markets to find players, makes a nice change from our usual trawl of the lower leagues of the UK and Ireland.
-
According to Google he's an attacking midfielder , currently with Brisbane roar in the Australian A league, 26 appearances so far, 9 goals.
-
Why is it folly? If a player is unfavoured by the manager for any reason and not getting game time, does not like the clubs methods, family can't settle in the area or just told by the manager your not in my plans, feel free to find another club etc etc then he might actively seek a transfer elsewhere. Now if they can be sold fair enough, but if not and the player really wants a move the contract can be terminated "by mutual agreement" I think is the phrase used. Yes this will probably result in some form of financial recompense to the player, but the club also benefits, financially if it was a good paying long term contract ended early and also by freeing up resources to bring in a player better suited to the team, which by definition improves the team and makes us better. Even if the club is hit financially we have moved on a player who does not want to be at the club to hopefully be replaced by someone who does so again that potentially improves the squad and makes us better.
-
As I said he's lazy, shocking workrate, the other 9 may be jokers as you put it but the majority of them put a lot more effort into games than KVV does.
-
That's the big problem I have, it's blatantly obvious over recent months that the team is put out with the same formation, same tactics and game plan, only the team selection changes, so why does SH and BK stick with a system / approach that is failing big time? We saw it under Alexander and its now groundhog day with the current management team, for me they are lost, no plan B, no change of formation and game plan to address the issues and give us a chance at picking up some results, its the same kick it long and chase week after week. Yes the players have to take some responsibility for the basic mistakes but if the team is constantly set up in the wrong formation , unbalanced etc with a game plan that fails every time then that's down to SH and BK, as I have said before for me they are out of their depth and frankly should never have been appointed. We need a new experienced management team, a new approach and game plan, some new faces in etc if we are going to survive, a very tall order at this stage of a season but it needs done. If we continue with the current management team and only bring in some new players, we will get relegated as it will be more of the same tactics that fail every week it seems now.
-
We really have wasted a fair amount of cash on utter dross when you see some of the names on that list, no wonder we are struggling now.
-
Watch him in a game he's lazy, jogs about in games, hardly tackles, waits for the ball to come to him instead of going to win it, too easily forced off the ball, rarely if ever tracks back and generally jogs through a game looking like he does not give a feck. Yes he has scored a few goals and yes we would be a lot worse off without them, but for long periods in games he's a passenger contributing feck all, if he applied himself a bit more, we could have had another few goals and eased the position we are in, his work rate is shocking. Today's game, Kevin Nisbet just back from a 9 month injury yo his ACL, never stopped running, chased everything and got 3 goals while KVV was watching him run past him,we need players to do that not watch the game pass them by.
