Spot on, there are at least another 5 points we should have won, StJ (1) Dundee untd,(2) Aberdeen (1) all at Fir park and last Sunday at Tynecastle (1) so we really should be sitting on 21 points and 4th in the League. So we need to improve the home form drastically and learn to get more street wise, ie know when somebody needs to implement the odd professional foul and take a booking for the team as our current game management is brutal.

There is no place for sensible analysis like that on this forum .

We get the officials our game deserves,,,,,,, what a feckin ridiculous statement to make ffs. The officials not doing their job properly cost us points yesterday, they've always been poor and even now with the technology to help them they are still making a James Hunt of it every week. Decisions are made that cost teams points and we get no explanations from the officials as to why they were made, with no comeback or sanctions on the officials involved, the whole system is rotten to the core.

That's what annoys me though " not a clear and obvious error" the ref done feck all when Watt went in studs up last week so VAR checked and decided it was a red card, so they can get involved if they want to. I've not seen the highlights from today but the penalty award will have been Checked by VAR so how can Moult being denied a clear goal scoring opportunity not be a 2nd booking for Gordon and therefore a sending off...for me that was a clear and obvious error so VAR should have intervened. Would Gordon have been booked for the pen if he had not already been booked, almost certainly he would so another obvious error. VAR was meant to improve refereeing in Scotland but its the same sub standard officials running it so its improved feck all, and cost us valuable points today, I was all for VAR but from what I've seen so far it's a shambles mainly down to the standard of officials running it, and that needs to improve drastically.

Would that be the same Blair Spittal who got the equaliser today and has scored another couple of goals this season so far? Given how paper thin our squad is he probably is the best we have available, but for interest who would you replace him with?
-
You really are turning into a boring arsehole with the constant "we're going to lose, game over negative pish"so how about giving us all a break and try some positivity for a change
-
Grizzlyg's position as the forum comedian is safe with that attempt at humour but tbf it did make me laugh
-
Good shout, they probably still carry more of a goal threat than Shields or Tierney
-
Who cares he got sent off and helped us claim all 3 points, but it has to be said its not looking promising for VAR only 2 games in and it seems a bit of a shambles, technically and personell wise given the standard of refereeing in Scotland.

BBC gossip page saying SH has started to identify possible targets for the January transfer window, at least 2 players required apparently. Scottish Gossip: Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Motherwell, Ross County, Dundee Utd - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63468528

I'm sure I read somewhere that Aarons has returned to his parent club already.
-
That's not good, particularly as we have no cover, it's hard to see where our goals will come from KVV with Shields up top does not inspire confidence.
-
That's the premium version of VAR, great technology and officials who know what they are doing, not the pound shop version the Scottish Premiership seems to have implemented which denied us a stonewall penalty on Saturday.
-
Stats, all irrelevant drivel the only one that matters is the final score at 5:45pm on Saturday telling us we scored more goals than Untd, coyw.

As I understand its the VAR officials who decide if an incident needs reviewed, they should be telling the ref to stop play etc till the review is over, and if that means the game goes on longer then that's what should happen. So for me the VAR team fecked up, by not informing the ref of a pending review or more likely they were not watching it either way it should not have happened. Can you imagine the uproar if that had happened in a game involving the uglies It's not been a very professional start for VAR so it needs to improve rapidly for people to have any confidence in it.
-
For me yesterday was not a good start for VAR, the checks were taking far too long, the 1st Goal was a straightforward no offside, should have been over in 30 seconds, as was the 2nd check which was done quickly. The worst was the incident right at the death involving Lamie, as clear a penalty as you will ever see, but no check made, no word to the ref to wait till a check had been made and we lose a potential chance to get a point. Can you imagine the uproar there would be if that had involved either of the ugly sisters, chasing the game to salvage a point. I get the impression though that the system Scotland got looks a bit pound shop level compared to the English premiership version, and that combined with the dubious standard of refereeing in Scotland does not fill me with confidence that it will work well.

Even if SH was ripping into them as you put it and the players dont respond what can he do, have people forgot we are in a bit on an Injury crisis at the club just now, a paper thin squad with no cover, none of which is SH's fault, he inherited the mess. So currently we need to run with what we have and the team we had out yesterday is probably the strongest 11 we could field, maybe Cornelius in for Tierney from the start is all that he could realistically change. So we need to run with what we have until the injured players recover( maybe never in the case of Aarons and Moult) to give us more of a threat and pick up as many points as we can before January when we can hopefully strengthen the squad and get a couple of goalscorers in. So basically people need to cut SH some slack at the moment and wring their knickers out, no need for any pant wetting just yet.
-
So drop experienced players and bring in academy players with no 1st team experience very little game time and probably not ready to step up, aye OK then that will sort us out, give SH a call and pass on your wisdom. You really are a fud.
-
I thought VAR would sort out this sort of thing, I guess the officials were on their break when this went down It was a feckin shambles today, decisions taking ages.
-
Another chance missed today, 3 points dropped to a very poor Aberdeen team, who in all honesty were as bad as us, but a different class when it came to time wasting, going down at every opportunity, conning the referee, even Goodwin was at it grabbing McGinns shirt when he was taking a throw in, and don't get me started on that diving wee shite Duk. Some of our play was excellent today, especially 2nd half and we really should have went in front, KVV missed a sitter, but a blind man can see where our issues are, we create nothing, no threat at all, SH took a punt on Moult and Aarons and its failed, for me both of them are done and I reckon we won't see either of them play this season. So we need to try to pick it as many points as we can before January and hope then we can get at least another 2 goalscorers in the transfer window. This year is a repeat of last season, 10 teams beating each other and dropping points all the time, think its 1 win in 7 for us but we are still only 6 points off 3rd and 4 off 12th, so no need for any pant wetting just yet.

I see you are still spouting shite, but for the benefit of discussion who would you replace them with from the current squad?

SLC quarter final Motherwell v Celtic 19/10/2022
Spiderpig replied to SteelmaninOZ's topic in Club Chat
Rangers never embarrassed us last week, they scraped a win mainly due to shocking defending by us basically gifting them 2 goals. I know it been nearly 20 years since we beat them in the league, but very rarely are we outclassed by them, the last embarrassing pumping in that fixture was for them in the playoff final a few years back. The green uglies are a very different prospect they have the potential to embarras teams on a regular basis, last Wednesday night being one of them -
SLC quarter final Motherwell v Celtic 19/10/2022
Spiderpig replied to SteelmaninOZ's topic in Club Chat
Does anybody truly believe that every time we play the uglies the players and management start with the"right lads we're not going to beat this mob today, so take it easy and don't worry " attitude? For me that's utter bollocks , Hammell's comment for me were referring to playing ability and they are all true, Celtic in particular are many levels above us, financially, playing ability, coaching etc and as harsh as it sounds we are nowhere near them. Yes every team is beatable and we have done that on many occasions but the players want to win every game and on most occasions against them that's not possible as they have better players than us and always will have. As long as the uglies are spending tens of millions each year to dominate domestic football in Scotland the other teams start each season playing for 3rd and that situation will never change. So I can't see why people are getting stressed about last night we were ripped a new one by a far superior team, who in all honesty should have scored a few more goals as i said previously our season is never defined by results against the uglies anything we get is a bonus, but the other 9 teams are our targets, 3rd place best of the rest finish, Euro qualification, and a bit of luck in cup draws would be nice. -
Agree with this but I hope that Efford, Aarons and Moult are fit and available, we have created nothing in the last 2 games so we need some options to make us more of a threat. The way we are playing just now if we go a goal down, it's hard to see how we are going to get back into the game.
