  1. I don't care about the performance or who scores, this is one of those games where the result and 3 points is all that matters, and hopefully it's in Motherwell's favour.
  2. I see the daily rancid are reporting that Dundee Untd allegedly want to bring in Craig Levein immediately to save their season, desperation in the extreme with that move. I'm Glad we took a bit of time and made the right choice for the club with SK.
  3. So far this season as brutal as we have been we have 27 points which is 33.3% of the total available, if we continue at the same rate we are on course for a 38 point total, which should see us safe as no team has ever been relegated or landed in the playoffs with more than 37 pts. So a modest improvement over the last 11 games will see us up that percentage and end up with a 40 + points total.
  4. That's Fox been punted by Dundee untd (by mutual consent), so they might be due their new manager bounce, so we really should be looking to win this one.
  5. Saved us?? from the match reports it seems the killie keeper played a blinder to stop us scoring on several occasions, so it sounds like a well deserved point to me, and for me any game where we don't lose is never dismal.
  6. Shields was good at championship level, thats why we signed him, but turned out to be not up to premiership standard.
  7. The next time we lose the usual suspects will be all over this thread with the "I told you it was a bad appointment " patter
  8. Is the bubble inflated again or is it still burst?
  9. Hammell would never have got over the Hump, he was like a rabbit in the headlights no idea what to do, he could have asked for help at any time, Kettlewell was at the club ffs, so it could have been arranged no problem. I get the impression that Hammell and Kerr, knew they were out of their depth very early on and kept hoping the team would bale them out but it never happened. For me there must have been other issues, ie coaching methods, personalities, etc as the teams performances fell off a cliff very quickly.
  10. WTF is that all about, I hope nobody will be singing kettle well songs to that tune. ( need to go, Taxi is outside 😁)
  11. STV said its till May 24, so next season as well.
  12. Quite right too it was feckin assault a tackle like that outwith a football match would get you jailed, all the nonsense about no intent, didn't mean it, not red ffs he could have blinded the other player his studs were that high.
  13. It's now English premiership clubs, Brighton are allegedly keeping track of him, it's in the Sun so probably a large pinch of salt required. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/10253133/motherwell-max-johnston-english-premier-league-scouts/
  14. Do you honestly think when Motherwell advertised for a new manager there would be a single candidate without ar least 2 or 3 failures on his CV, not a chance, good managers tend not to be unemployed so SK was no different to any of the others. For me if Ross, McCann and Holloway made the shortlist then I suspect the overall quality of the applicants was not the best, I've been a critic of the board recently but in ghis case I think they've made the right decision to suit the club, so fair play yo them.
  15. So would you like it better if mccann, or Holloway had got the job and we ended up in the same position, two managers one of whom is a headcase, who dont know the players, or Scottish football, will bring in their own staff etc, that's risk and potential upheaval we don't need with 12 games left in a season and fighting to stay up. Giving the job to SK was a good risk,he's hit the ground running and seems to have the players with him, with no reorganisation of the club required. Then if it goes Pete Tong the club can have more time to recruit another manager in the summer. Personally I think SK will keep us up, and still be in charge next season.
  16. In all honesty I can't see why he would turn it down, does he want to stay as the academy boss instead of getting back to management I'm not so sure. As you say I'm sure it's just sorting out the contract details and he will be in charge permanently on Saturday.
  17. Just been on the STV news, he's been offered the job but hasn't accepted it yet, so not a done deal
  18. If its confirmed that SK has got the job, I think that it's a good appointment, I have to say that after Hammell got the job I thought the board had fecked up big time, and after his inevitable sacking albeit a couple of months too late I still had absolutely no confidence in the board to make the correct choice again. However if confirmed in giving SK the job they seem to have eventually woke up to the seriousness of the situation so fair play to them for that. People are comparing it to Hammell's appointment wrongly in my view, SK has experience, his game management is good, he is open to changing formation when required, you see him getting involved from the side as a manager should, Hammell and Kerr had none of these, and were so far out of their depth it was embarrassing. Ive been very critical of the board for a catalogue of errors and not acting quick enough leading up to the Raith game but if SK is confirmed tbf I think the board deserve a bit of credit for appointing him to stabilise the club and keep us in the league. And if he does that and we have a decent end to the season then he deserves a longer term gig to take the club forward.
  19. OK some might call it the cheap option but in terms of who the other alleged candidates were its the sensible one. At this point in the season we can't afford the time for a new manager to get to know the club, decide what players he likes and doesn't like, sort out his own backroom team etc. SK knows the club and more importantly the players and has got them playing again as the last two results show, that's the attitude and approach we need till the end of the season. The mission is to keep us in the premiership so when that's achieved the board can look at the post again if they feel they need to for someone to rebuild and stabilise the club going forward. Oh and if SK is confirmed it's means we don't have an Arsehole like Holloway at the club.
  20. Butcher for me, he had an excellent game, at last a solid enforcer and a bit of leadership in the defence, always shouting at the players etc, he should be captain instead of Kelly.
  21. Does pope miss the game, its a cup game and the card was not for violent conduct, is it not just the next league game he misses?
  22. Fair enough but I hope you've been fed crap info as I personally don't think he would be a good fit for the club, any time he was interviewed before or after games he always came across as a bit of an arrogant arsehole who loved himself. When he was at Grimsby he never moved to the local area and commuted every day,so I can't see him relocating to the shire, but as he obviously applied for the job, maybe that will change. Another worry is he's always been at clubs with much bigger budgets and resources than Motherwell so would he cope. If it is to be him time will tell but after the Alexander and Hammell episodes I have no confidence in the board getting this decision right.
  23. Is that a personal opinion or a statement based on other inside information, ie has he been seen buying a roll at Upper crust?
  24. We don't have 5k of a core support, more like 3 maybe 4k on a good day but that's no excuse for not getting behind the team so I hope the fans do just that and support them, as long as the team do their bit as well.
  25. He was always at best an average player with a below average goal scoring record, we got an excellent 4 or 5 months from him before he reverted to type. The only thing he's ever been really good at is making a decent living all based on one wonder goal against Barcelona over 10 years ago, a proper football mercenary well past his sell by date.
