  1. Just for clarity you do know the goal would not have counted, don't you, the ball was out and the flag was up before KVV hit the ball to cross it in, so not really a chance was it.
  2. Just back in, game went as I expected it would, again we offered nothing up front, but the difference in ability between the 2 teams is vast. Sunday was a big disappointment as that Rangers team was poor and there for the taking but tonight we were outclassed by a far superior team, who in all honesty should have won by a few more goals, so there is no shame in that. Our season won't be defined by results against the uglies, but SH needs to sort out our strike force as we currently offer nothing, no out ball so I hope we get somebody else in come January or we will struggle big time, as sadly I am not convinced Moult and Aarons are the answer given their current lack of game time.
  3. This " lucky , spawny, jammy" chat is utter shite the truth that people seem to conviently forget is that yes we were brutal from December onwards but in a league of 9 other teams who were equally as bad someone had to play well enough to grind out the results, pick up important points, win games etc to finish 2nd out of the 9, for a top 6 finish and European qualification which is what we did, luck had feck all to do with it.
  4. If the online chatter and rumours are to be believed we have an injury problem at the club, Moult, Spittal, Efford all missed the game yesterday and probably won't feature on Wednesday, Lamie went off injured so he might not be back either so be prepared for pretty much the same team as faced Rangers. We struggled to create anything yesterday and I can't see that changing on Wednesday so it's going to be a very big ask to beat Celtic with the paper thin squad resources we currently have. But that said upsets happen so it's possible we can get through but in all reality I suspect we will lose as if we go a goal down I can't see us getting back into the game.
  5. So what's the excuse for the other 4 players who had a chance to bring Tillman down and didn't as I said nothing to do with Goss.
  6. That's the reality in Scotland just now, the gap between the ugly sisters and the rest of the premiership teams is vast, financially and playing ability. Those 2 are the only teams that are ever going to win the title, and the majority of the Scottish cup and League cups as well. Scotland is not unique though as most leagues have the same issues, ie dominated by a few teams year in year out, money is the one common factor for success, the more you have the better your team will be.
  7. What a load of shite blaming Goss for their 1st goal ffs there were another 4 players who were not willing to take a yellow for the team and bring Tillman down. That's why we keep losing games because we're not streetwise enough to realise when the odd "tactical foul" is required. If we had done that yesterday I reckon we would have taken something from that game as their 1st goal gave them a boost they never deserved.
  8. Not naive defending, very poor defending 5 players running with Tillman and not one of them prepared to save a goal and take a yellow for the team by taking him down. Had they not scored then I think they might have struggled to get a goal as they got a boost they never deserved.
  9. We are currently 4 points off 3rd place and 4 off the bottom, we need to start winning and climbing the table to be safe mid table, a few wins before the world cup break would be nice.
  10. To be fair that's as close as it gets to a sensible and accurate post from you.
  11. Better repost when the drink wears off, Celtic will pump us, and we will have no reply.
  12. Tierney for me, though he was great never stopped all game, special mentions for SOL at the back, never put a foot wrong and McKinstry for his 1st ever Motherwell goal.
  13. Just back from the game, a very poor Rangers team there for the taking and we pressed high, had a lot of the ball, but created feck all, gifted them a 1st goal when they never looked like scoring and gave them the boost they never deserved. We are so lightweight up front its costing us big time, worried we have a constantly injured Moult and Aarons on the books contributing nothing so far. We had some good play and possession, McKinstry's goal was a beauty but too little too late, so unless we start creating chances and scoring on a more regular basis we are going to struggle goals win games. So very disappointed today we let a team low in confidence, and short on players off the hook.
  14. In the premiership games that don't involve the uglies VAR will operate and there will be the usual early dodgy calls, but in general nobody will notice or care if Motherwell or any other team were denied a goal or gave away a penalty etc. But be prepared for the media and social media shit storm that every foul, corner kick, potential penalty or goal given/ disallowed will generate for every game the uglies play. They will want every tackle examined and will be on screaming about how VAR is not fit for purpose every time a call goes against them. I think it will eventually improve the refereeing in Scotland and the game in General but the 1st few months will be interesting viewing.
  15. 4 champions league games, no points -15 goal difference out of their depth and outclassed in every game, an embarrassment, and the worst defensive record of all the CL teams, but who else has the fear for Sunday I know I have now
  16. We've been saying that for years in games against that mob, coming close in the league a few times but never managing it. The winless league run has to end sometime, so why not now. If we can ditch the " beaten before we start attitude " we have had on numerous occasions playing them and get right in about them we have a chance. They are a good side but nothing special so here's hoping SH has the team motivated.
  17. A brilliant video highlighting the real tragedies some of our supporters and their families have gone through and the work the club does to support mental health in Lanarkshire, we are a true community club , and really set an example of how other clubs should be operating and helping there own communities. And as Flow says in the video if it helps saves 1 persons life its all been worthwhile, we are a club the fans can be truly proud of.
  18. Scottish football will never get a decent TV contract because in reality nobody wants to watch it, Sky, BT , Premier etc are only interested in the ugly sisters, as those 2 have a potential worldwide audience, you won't see foreign football fans settling down to watch the likes of Ross County v Motherwell live from Dingwall. In European terms the uglies are Diddy teams regular qualifiers but never feature in the latter stages apart from odd great run every decade or so. Their regular qualification means Scotland gets spots in the qualifiers for the Europa and conference leagues but the teams very rarely if ever make the group stages, and even when they do they are so far off the standard required it's embarrassing at times. 9 euro games played by Scottish teams so far thus season and its 7 defeats, 1 draw and 1 win, this week all 3 were so outclassed by their opponents it was embarrassing . Scottish football is what it is though, its great to have a Euro away day, but in reality most of the Scottish clubs are out before the next season starts, and probably that would apply to the uglies as well but for the ridiculous and corrupt Uefa policies to keep the big teams happy and let them into the EL and ECL after getting papped out of the champions league etc.
  19. My fault I assumed they were in the main stand as I could not see any away fans behind the goals in the highlights but realised they were right in the corner when I saw better view of KVV's 2nd goal I think but agree a shite view to give fans with all that space available.
  20. I'm not sure how many well fans made the trip up to Dingwall last night, but clubs like RC are happy to have the ground full of Ugly sisters fans etc with all the revenue that generates. when it comes to a few hundred well fans, they are not going to open the larger stands, pay energy costs, stewarding etc so they will get squeezed into the smallest space available, which I presume was the corner of the already open main stand. It's all about costs, Motherwell have done the same over the years, ie not opening the South stand and putting small numbers of away fans in the end of the POD nearest to the Cooper stand.
  21. No excuses we need 3 points from this one, will take 1-0 but more goals would be a nice bonus
  22. Tierney warming up for the Celtic game
  23. Not controversial at all, my thoughts as well.
  24. It's a free hit, anything we get is a bonus, as I said before Celtic are very rarely if ever bad or off form 2 in a row domestically so I have the fear for this one.
  25. We have experienced midfielders in Slattery, Goss and Spittal, who since SH took over have in all honesty looked different players. And as for CB's we have Lamie, Mugabi and Johansen who are ok, but you stick with the negative agenda and look for issues, it's what your good at the rest of us will ignore you that's what we are good at
