  1. It was nothing to do with luck, in a league with 3 decent teams and 9 shitey ones last year we done enough and earned enough points to be the 2nd least shitey team of the 9. Luck never got us the equalisers at St Mirren and Livi, or the 3 points against RC , we done what we had to so we made 5th place and Europe on merit as we were better than the 7 teams below us.
  2. A top 6 finish is no more unrealistic this season than it was last year its the same squad of players but we now have a manager who will get much more out of them, play them in their correct positions etc its early days but the signs are encouraging so I think we have every chance of another top 6 finish.
  3. That's a decent return, seems to have found his level, good luck to him.
  4. Done deal apparently according to the link below https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-motherwell-agree-to-re-sign-leeds-united-star-stuart-mckinstry-as-medical-lined-up/
  5. Why all the fuss about Watt, we got the best 6 months of his career before he reverted to what he is brilliant at, scoring very few if any goals, he's had loads of clubs and done feck all at all of them apart from us, yes he scored a few in his time here but honestly he is brutal, a player who has done very well over the years dining out on one wonder goal he scored against Barcelona over a decade ago. Should we have him back not for me he shafted us mid season and went to Dundee untd for me after a fall out with GA, which seems to be happening again with Jack Ross. So I hope if he does become available we avoid him like the plague, we can do much better.
  6. The Scottish cup winners get the Europa league place, so if one of the uglies wins the Cup then 3rd place in the league gets it as Hearts done this year, so potentially only top 4 will get Europe if say St Mirren or Killie etc win the cup. That's my understanding of it as it stands.
  7. Same as it was this year I think, 2 CL places, 1 EL place and 2 ECL spots. Not 100% sure if the champions go into CL groups like this year and if the entry rounds are the same for the other teams, think all that depends on any changes to the country and team coefficients.
  8. Or plan C get right in about him with a few robust tackles early doors, that usually keeps a player a bit quiet
  9. We won't win the league, we will not get relegated or end up in the playoffs, for me it's at worst another top 6 finish and a chase for the Euro places again. Don't really care where the other 11 teams finish although if I could pick it would be Livi bottom and Killie relegated via the playoffs to finally get rid of the shitey plastic pitches from the premiership.
  10. Ooooooh that must hurt, or is he still murder
  11. Wrexham are bankrolled by multi millionaire actor Ryan Reynolds, why God only knows but his net worth is around $150 million. So against clubs like that we have no chance.
  12. Our new manager seems well aware of what positions we need filled, he is hoping to add to the squad according to the daily record. Steven Hammell targets Motherwell recruitment after becoming manager - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62518234
  13. Suspect Viking had the boys playing tonight but fair play to Sligo another win in Europe.
  14. It was not for want of trying it was 7 going on 10 Untd were outclassed big time, only losing 7 flattered them AZ could have scored every time they went forward. Our results against Sligo were embarrassing enough but that was a whole new level of embarrassment for untd tonight.
  15. It's now 7-0 Currently the joint worst result in Scottish European games history
  16. Well said mate, 100% agree although my dad was a Rangers fan so he never could understand why I went to Fir Park never regretted it for a minute.
  17. Dundee untd currently getting ripped a new one by AZ Alkmar 5-0 down and its not even half time, no wonder we are a Diddy Nation in uefa's eyes
  18. After the Alexander stadium alleged joke you posted the other day, it's time you had some competition means you need to up your game.
  19. In football by the time you start to learn from your mistakes you have been punted and are unemployed, and typically you revert to type when and if you get another gig so the mistakes you made before will invariably happen again as you are convinced your approach is correct, then you get punted again and the merry go round continues ad infinitum.
  20. A bit strong but why would you feel that way? Given the timescales we are in, season started, transfer window closing etc Hammell knows the players and the problems we have got so he could be up to speed quickly. I would like to think that the recruitment team have identified possible targets so that moves could be made when the new manager is known. Hammell would not have been my 1st choice for manager purely down to experience but if he gets the job I'll get behind him , it will be a challenge but that's the way you learn and get experience so fair play to him for putting his name forward.
  21. Would be easier to sort out brexit or the Ukraine crisis, there will be people on here having a meltdown telling folk how bad an appointment it is within 5 mins of it being announced, then another 2 min to get the Manager out thread started.
  22. My thoughts as well Dave, none of the names mentioned so far inspire confidence, and given the season has started whoever gets the job has to hit the ground running and get the squad playing very quickly. Another issue we have is that this deep into a transfer window by the time the new manager asseses the squad and decides what we need there will be no time to recruit successfully, so we may end up having to run with what we have till January. This is a very important decision for the club so here's hoping they make he right one.
  23. There's a very big difference between having a positive mentality, which is a good thing, and having mental health issues which should never be used a a criteria to determine someone's suitability for a job or anything else, and then further compounding the issue by stereotyping him as " aggressive, wild, out of control etc" .
  24. What a feckin ridiculous comment to make on someone's mental health issues, so now he's wild, aggressive, unstable and out of control ffs. Supporting Mental health issues is something Motherwell as a club are very strong on and something our fans should be proud of irrespective of who it is.
