Yaaaaas 1-0 KVV
-
2 days of chat on the forum about a new manager and Simo Valakari finally gets a mention, would not have been the same without someone putting his name forward, why people constantly think he would be a good replacement is beyond me, his managerial career is much like his playing one distinctly average at best.
-
Aye getting paid probably 1 to 2k a week for 2 or 3 years at most to move to Scotland would be a struggle right enough.
-
Woolery leaving was a strange one for me, I suspect he was another one who fell out with Alexander, it was all very sudden.
-
The whole team on Thursday night got people out of their seats and up the road back to the pub they were that bad. For me Tierney, Cornelius , SOD, Lamie, Slattery Kelly, Shields and maybe Efford are the players who when playing look capable of creating something or In Kelly's case making a great save. I would also include KVV but he's not consistent enough just now 1 or 2 good games then 3 or 4 where he is anonymous and contributes feck all. The squad has the makings of a decent team so let's hope whoever the new manager is can find the correct balance and get the best from them
-
All the talk about replacement managers, Mcfadden, Craigan, Levein, Barry ferguson and bringing Robinson back is comedy gold. We need an experienced manager with a proven track record who can come in and get the best from the current squad, good coaching and man management skills, and preferably not one of the usual out of work Scottish managers thar get quoted when a job comes up, I even read somebody suggesting Gordon Stachan ffs. So it's up to AB and the board to get this right as he needs to get the team up and running right away as the pre season has been a shambles
-
Get Van der gaag on the phone where's the fun being an assistant at Old Trafford, he could bring Ronaldo on loan
-
Here you go its official GA has left the building https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11796/12661134/graham-alexander-motherwell-sack-manager-ahead-of-new-scottish-premiership-season

We were never allowed a sniff at goal all night, the Sligo keeper never had to make a serious save, their defence was well organised, they moved the ball quickly and got in behind us on numerous occasions especially after 3 mins and scoring a beauty from the free kick, they sat back virtually the whole game as they had us sussed and knew we carried no threat, and took their chances when they came. So for me that's being outclassed by an opposition and they got what they deserved a place in Q3.
-
"Motherwell were outclassed by an inspired Sligo Rovers as the hapless Scots were deservedly dumped out of Europa Conference League qualifying." Waking up in Sligo and reading that headline from the BBC match report, " outclassed by Sligo Rovers ffs" that should be all the evidence the board need to get rid of Alexander, before this season starts badly as it will with his tactics etc i only hope someone at Fir Park has the balls to do it.
-
Well said Dave, 100% agree, tonight was a painful watch
-
Seriously wake up and smell the coffee ffs. Hundreds of well fans over here tonight for the game and let down big time. I was prepared to give GA the benefit of the doubt but no more after tonight that was embarrassing , the manager is an arrogant clueless fud, sticking with a system that does not work. There is obviously more going on than we know, he has lost the dressing room, so never mind judging him after so many league games he needs to go now, but the club probably won't have the balls to punt him.
-
I was prepared to give him a chance but after watching that pish tonight he has to go now, those tactics and refusal to change will get us relegated, so for me feck the cost and get him to feck, what's the cheaper option sacking GA or the cost of relegation, get him to feck.
-
In all honesty Sligo have been pish, one moment of brilliance with the free kick and that's all, but they know we are not capable if hurting them its all too easy, feckin brutal from Motherwell.
-
Sitting in a bar in Sligo alongside hundreds of well fans and watching an utter feckin shambles. I was up for giving GA the benefit of the doubt but after that 1st half display he has to go. We are totally devoid of any attacking threat even if Sligo had not scored we would never feckin score its a feckin ridiculous performance to be thoroughly outplayed over a game and a half now by a team Currently 5th in the Irish league ffs, just let that sink in. We can't start the season with GA in charge he needs to go tomorrow or we are going down this year. It takes a lot to upset me but enough is enough fantastic trip over here the well fans are brilliant but let down by the team and a manager feckin devoid of any ideas. We are going out tonight but the vlub needs to take action now to save the season before it starts.

We've had 5 wins in 7 months, St Mirren, Ross county, Hearts, the Austrian 3rd division mob and Partick Thistle
-
For me, the ugly sisters top 2, Hearts 3rd, St Mirren, Livi, Kilmarnock and StJ bottom 4 and the rest fighting for the other 3 top six places with Hibs and StJ failing. So, Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen, Motherwell, Dundee untd. Hibs, Ross County, Killie, StJ, Livi, St Mirren But as I say I don't think there will be much between positions 4 to 8
-
Eternal optimism is an essential quality you need to be a Motherwell Fan I went last Thursday hoping we could get the tie done at Fir Park and could not really see us losing, but like you I am confident we will get the job done. That said I will be hoping we get an early goal to steady the nerves and go on to a good win.
-
I see Robinson is in the news this morning complaining that the league cup group format and the early start to the season is unfair on the premiership teams ffs, no mention of his team being pish though. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stephen-robinson-slams-premier-sports-27572406

We gave a contract to Gallacher who did jail time for battering somebody with a baseball bat,and nobody gave a feck, Griffiths wasn't convicted of anything, so is GBH OK with the fans but what Griffiths allegedly done not? Everybody deserves a second chance, and we need a goal scorer.
-
All of Griffiths ongoing mental health issues have been well documented and he has been a bit of a waster in recent seasons but for me I would give him a chance as well, he certainly knows where the goals are. As you say a short term deal till January to see how it works out. We took a punt on Watt who had a terrible scoring record so why not do the same with Griffiths, 189 goals for club and country so far

ECL Fir Park Motherwell v Sligo Rovers 21/07/22

Sorry but a crucial must win European tie is no place to be trying out an academy player with very limited 1st team experience, so I hope he is nowhere near the team. -
Alexander is, who is Armstrong

ECL Fir Park Motherwell v Sligo Rovers 21/07/22
Spiderpig replied to SteelmaninOZ's topic in Club Chat
It was not humour to laugh at, banter or anything like that it was sectarian shite that has no place at Fir Park, or anywhere else for that matter. The club should have called them out for it. And its a sure thing that UEFA will fine the club for whatever dickhead threw the water bottle at the linesman, again the club should have called that out as well, I hope the culprit is identified and banned from Fir Park. -

Well said Dave it was a shambles the alleged stewards are,a waste of space they do nothing and are not interested in helping anybody, "speak to the club" was the frequent response I heard them dishing out. For games like that the stewarding has to be robust but I don't know if these guys actually receive any training on how to handle crowds like that, I suspect not for me they just pull on the high viz jacket stand about for a couple of hrs doing feck all and then pocket their wages, the club needs to sort it out.
