For me the biggest issue we have is the formation, we play, we don't have the quality in midfield to play 4-3-3, switching to 4-4-2 would stop the midfield getting overrun and take some of the pressure of the defence. For me our strongest midfield is Goss, Slattery and McGuire put Tierney in there playing just in front of them as the attacking midfielder to get forward and support the 2 strikers. But until GA gets over his obsession with 4-3-3 we will struggle, especially against a team like Celtic who have pace out wide. Oh and as others have suggested Donnelly is never a midfielder.

TBH if a manager can get Griffiths's head and attitude sorted there is a half decent player there but as he stands nobody will touch him.

I think that's one of the aspects that have improved under GA keeping going in games to either see them out, get an equaliser or winner etc, under Robinson at the end we would have lost games like that, and the Morton Cup game.

Let's be honest proven goal Scorers at a decent level are not going to be available in a mid season transfer window, especially on the money Motherwell has to spend. Our markets are the lower / non league teams to try to find a player with potential and hope they step up and score a few, like Moult, Higdon, McDonald, and latterly Watt who all seemed to find Fir Park a great place to be. But for every success there are more failures who don't make it but that's how we operate, so give each player their chance then judge them on how good or Bad they were.

Tony Watt only scored 11 in his last 87 appearances over 6 different clubs since 2016 before he joined us and that worked out ok

Why, as I said earlier if he's on the bench he should be fit to play, and given the news today that he's off on loan to QOS I assume that he is fit to play so not so much of a leap more of a tiny hop.

The subs might be needed in the 1st few mins of the game so for me they must all be fit and able to play the full 90 mins otherwise there is no point in having them in the squad.

Aberdeen are bang average, they are so far having a worse season than us, nobody said it would be easy but we have nothing to fear from them, we've already beaten them in the league recently so we are more than capable of repeating it in the cup.
