  1. Great post I totally agree, the 3 competitions are set up for one purpose only to make the rich powerful clubs and UEFA even richer its a corrupt shambles. Don't make the CL groups don't worry you can have a go in the EL oh and if you fail there you get a 3rd go in the conference its nonsense. I've enjoyed many European adventures with Motherwell and I hope to have a few more but that will be nigh on impossible if clubs like Hibs. Hearts, Aberdeen, Dundee untd etc are successful, making the group stages etc and earning wads of cash to make them even stronger. As for the ugly sisters I look forward to them being pumped out of Europe at the earliest opportunity, I support Motherwell and have never understood the "support the Scottish teams" argument at all.
  2. That's it in one word, back in the UK, with no doubt a large increase in his weekly wage, aye a tough decision.
  3. Justin Amaluzor, remember him, hes on the bench for Grimsby tonight against Man Untd in the Carabao cup.
  4. Max Johnson is on his way to Derby according to Sky sports for £3.5 million allegedly. https://www.skysports.com/football/live-blog/11095/13163353/efl-transfer-news-rumours-and-gossip-for-championship-league-one-and-league-two?postid=10074891#liveblog-body
  5. According to today's BBC gossip Rangers want Rice to sign a new contract before they allow him to go out on Loan Rangers want midfielder Bailey Rice, 18, to sign a new deal before sending him out on loan. (Herald - subscription required)
  6. A pessimistic attitude, without going full blown MJC is the best solution for following Motherwell, it means you never get disappointed 😃
  7. I think we have one already when McGhee is match fit, given he can allegedly play at centre half, time will tell.
  8. Your right Dave dropping a keeper after 1 bad game wont help their confidence so Ward will start. That said however the Killie game for me is a must win, not in the avoiding relegation sense, but in building team confidence in finally getting the win their great play in recent games deserves. So I hope JBA and the players have learned from the Hearts game and realise that any errors are not acceptable.
  9. I agree, Oxborough should be our 1st choice keeper, Ward gives me the fear.
  10. Just watched the Sportscene highlights Hesrts 2nd goal was onside but it was by millimetres only according to the VAR lines, our defenders right foot playing him on.. We failed to mange the last 30 mins and see out the game, bad defenfing for Hearts 1st goal and shocking goal keeping from Ward for goals 2 and 3.
  11. From 3-0 up dominating play, Hearts being battered and we fecked it up big time, another 2 points thrown away. I don't think we can blame our forwards for this one, a shambles of a defence again that cant close a game out, still we never lost but we cant afford to be throwing points away like that.
  12. I hear the faint sound of bottles crashing on Gorgie Rd.
  13. https://www.reddit.com/r/Aleague/comments/1mxyvm2/oscar_priestman_to_motherwell_for_undisclosed_fee/
  14. Top level players tend not to sign for Motherwell so you may be right. I hope Stamatelopoulos comes good and contributes more to the team, but so far for me I've seen nothing to suggest that will happen.
  15. He's flying back not walking, so i don't think sitting in a plane for a few hours will tire him out enough to miss 3 games.
  16. The only people that know are the club officials and the players and that's how it should be, its a pointless thread.
  17. Good for you, your support for your number 1 big team is commendable.
  18. Very true the blue uglies save their rioting, bad behaviour and wanton vandalism for the major cities they visit on their Euro adventures over the years Manchester, Maribor, pamplona, Barcelona etc etc.
  19. Agreed, its the experienced striker we wanted, hopefully he can hit the ground running and give us the goal threat we are currently lacking.
  20. Surely that's not 2 big teams he has now 🤔
  21. Back then Tynecastle had no shelter for away fans unless you paid for the main stand , the Gorgie rd terracing was uncovered.
  22. I agree, but in cup games all that matters is the result and getting into the QF draw, so job done today.
  23. Yes it matters, the ideal scenario is we take a player on loan develop and make him better, so we benefit and the parent club benefits as well, all win win so far. The problem is bringing in, a player from teams in your own league to develop and improve yes we benefit short term but if it has went to plan the player returns to the parent club a better player to one day turn up against us in the league or cup. Making the rival teams in your league stronger in whatever form that takes is never a good plan.
  24. Again not true, the standard of football back then was dreadful at times. You only need to watch some of the classic games, being played on ploughed fields, players who were slower than a week in the jail, nowhere near the fitness levels of modern day players. We all think everything was better back in the day when in reality it wasn't. So combine the crap football with the crap facilities, standing for 90 min in the rain at Tynecastle for example watching a rotten game aye we all had a great time. The everything was better back in the day is just sentimental BS as we did not know any better at the time.
