  1. Okay, we can talk about Paul Slane all day. On a different subject, Brown mentioned we had two trialists (as someone mentioned earlier), does anyone know anything about these guys? He also says he is looking at a big signing who may be playing in the world cup. Anyone have any idea, or know who this is?
  2. Nah, both are just typical 'wingers', can see them being able to play on both sides. Slane, however, played on the left at the start of the season. O'Brien was more of a right winger last season and left this season. Although we have Slane and Humphrey, and Murphy to a point, I would hate to see JOB leaving, especially to any of our league rivals, he is the best dribbler in the team. Saying that, I would say his poor judgement of when to release a pass has cost us a couple of goals this season
  3. Good post mate! It is a difficult question and a difficult answer. At the start of the season when we were playing out games in the Europa league, I would have said Reynolds and Craigan for a mix of pace and invaluable experience. But, I have been very happy with Hutchison this season and has potentially been our best centre half. He is great in the air, is also fast enough to keep up with most SPL strikers and is also a good tackler. However, I am one of the cynical buggers who believes that Stevie Hammell has potential to be a liability in defence (due to his height and inability to even stand on his right foot), so perhaps Reynolds at left back and Crags and Hutchison at centre back. I think Saunders would be a good back up for both centre back and right back
  4. I think the formation we lined up against Man Utd with was excellent and would not be upset if Gannon used it against Gers tomorrow. With Frenchy and Hammell running the wings, and Hateley playing in a defensive midfield role, but moving back into defence when we went forward. Hutchison and Reynolds looked solid in the centre of defence together, but I still find it hard to predict Craigan getting dropped. He is our only really experienced player, which could be vital against Rangers, but he is prone to making errors, and is just not as good in the air as bug Hutch. I can see Coke being one of our key players tomorrow, he has slotted in well into our midfield and looks indispensible at this stage. 1-0 Well, with Hutch scoring a header from a set piece
  5. The problem with Stevie Hammell IMO is his general defending ability. He is always out of position and isn't the best tackler in the world. If we can get someone better, great, but I don't think Reynolds is as good at left back and Hutchison looks a little shaky when the ball is on the ground. I would still have Craigan (CB), Reynolds (CB) and Hammell (LB) Although, is De Laet not a left back?
  6. Definitely! If we can get some money for him it would be excellent. Maybe he will sign Fizzy too.......
  7. He got more than his fair share of chances to prove himself under McGhee. I personally don't rate him as much of a player, and certainly not for the SPL. He does try hard though and would probably do a good shift in the 1st division. Hammell out of favour too by the way?
