  1. One things for sure; we are incapable of keeping a clean sheet so will need to score if we hope to get anything from the game.
  2. It's not a new manager we need, it's a miracle worker. Our squad is bereft of quality and we seem to have thrown good money at loan players in the hope of finding a decent one. Good plan! The new manager has an impossible task. No amount of coaching will turn the likes of Halliday or O' Donnell into good players as they are well past their sell by date. They're not the only ones but I've seen enough of them this season to know that they are finished at SPL level.
  3. We are so easy to score against. Clean and sheet are words our defenders can only dream about.
  4. We supporters get incredibly frustrated with useless officials but it must be worse when your job may well suffer due to incompetent refs. Kettlewell and the players prepare meticulously for each game only to find the plan ruined because the ref makes crazy decisions. I can fully understand Kettlewells annoyance as it must be so difficult to stand on the touchline and say nothing while the ref makes himself the centre of attention in every game. I just wish Collum would remind his refs that the best ones are those who go about their business quietly but efficiently and don't need to flash cards in order to maintain control.
  5. My worry is that Septic came in for heavy criticism after losing out on John McGinn and won't want to make the same mistake twice. However I desperately hope he does not end up at Parkhead.
  6. Completely agree Dave. Kelly is a good shot stopper but the other parts of his game are limited, especially commanding his box and dealing with crosses. I'm sure we could recruit an equally talented shot stopper who is a better all round keeper than Kelly on the same or even less money.
  7. Faddy called it one night on Sportscene when he said VAR is not the problem, it's the people operating it. We could have the best VAR system in the world but when people are using flawed judgement such as Bairs "handball" on Saturday, then it's a waste of time and money. Common sense and understanding of the game are sadly lacking. Our refs have been abysmal for years and allowing them to sit in a studio looking at a TV screen just compounds the problem. It's now time to get rid, save some money and acknowledge that our refs are just not up to the job which we knew anyway. Has it improved the game? Most definitely not, in fact it's made things worse so why bother.
  8. Can't understand why we brought on 2 kids when we're trying to save the game. One maybe, but 2? Especially when we have Moses sitting on the bench. I thought he would have been the obvious choice to see what he could do.
  9. You make an excellent point. Mika would probably have attracted all the headlines but his departure opened up the opportunity for someone else and Theo has certainly taken that chance.
  10. I hope Kelly walks at the end of the season. He is a decent shot stopper, but that's it. He doesn't command his box so any high ball into our box causes problems. Any semi decent keeper is able to use their reach advantage to gather high balls but this is beyond Kelly. Yes he may be a big presence around the club but if he's not competent at the basics then he shouldn't be playing. However seeing Kettlewells interview it looks like he will play Kelly against Aberdeen so the messages is clear, no matter how bad you play you'll remain in goals for our next game and beyond. I despair.
  11. What would you consider to be a winnable home draw? Just think Raith Rovers or Albion Rovers for example. After last night I wouldn't trust us against any level of opposition. We are capable of delivering a poor performance against any team.
  12. No one seems to be mentioning Butcher so I will! Thought he was awful all night. When the Morton player hit the bar Butcher tried to pull him back rather than get a challenge in. If VAR had been available who knows. He failed to block the shot at their second goal and did exactly the same again Alloa at Salmons goal. He got booked tonight after a cynical challenge which summed up his evening. Not sure what his best position is but it's not in defence.
  13. Yes, I agree, and I really don't know what type of keeper Aston is. However if Kelly has lost confidence it will do him more harm to keep playing him if he continues to make mistakes
