  1. Based on any time he plays he is far more dangerous than Main, Scores goals, yes actually scores goals rather than running about like a headless chicken. He is a goal scorer first and foremost. If you want to go for stats then Johnson is night and day a better striker than Main in his career. Actually has Main ever scored more than 10 in a season?
  2. Got to be the most stupidest comment I have seen on here. It takes a striker to finish those chances when people fall over. Look at Main today who basically missed an open goal many would argue Johnson would have buried.
  3. I thought that's his purpose, to score goals..No?.I have never understood the philosophy of playing someone up front who cannot score goals just because he can run about a bit.If he was laying goals on, playing others in I would accept that but he hasn't and never will. So why do we keep playing him. We have a natural goal scorer in Johnson but we insist on benching him every game. Edit: "I've brought him here to bolster our attacking options and get amongst the goals," added Robinson. Quote from Manager when he signed. I would strongly argue other than a purple patch when he signed he has done neither.
  4. His role is to score goals. I must be mistaken what a strikers role is these days
  5. I have been calling for this since the Hibs game start of the season. he just doesn't look interested at all. 40% max effort and that's when he tries.
  6. Livi win 3-0. No confidence we will turn this around anytime soon
  7. Never will be convinced that Sammon is as football player never mind a goal threat. Laziest guy I have ever seen on a football park
  8. If you think for a minute that McHugh will sit on the bench your deluded. He has been contributing goals lately and his play has massively improved on last year. he will be an ever present
  9. I blame Sammon...he surely must have done something wrong
  10. From the Wigan Forum re Kipre tonight 1. Kipre, can't say enough good words about him. To see his level of composure for a 21 year old is very rare. When he made mistakes against Villa, he never changed his style of play or let it affect his judgement. Too often you see players try to make up for an error, which almost always leads to more errors. 2. Kipre gets a very strong mention as well. Colossus in defence. 3. Kipré and Dunkley have been brilliant in defence tonight. Missing the big chap
  11. Well done to Motherwell. A clean sheet and a win when we needed it most. Steady the ship a wee bit and hopefully kick on from here.
  12. Well there you go...been calling for johnson to play for ages, now he gets his chance and scores within a half hour....night and day compared to Main and Sammon. Why we persisted is beyond me
  13. I said it after the Hibs game that I watched our front two closely and they didn't communicate with each other the full game, not one comment. They didn't even look at each. If you see any good partnership up front the guys are always talking to each other, communicating, switching sides, doing anything to keep the opposition defenders on the back foot. Our guys just walk about with the markers, make no attempt to win the ball other than foul the defenders. No imagination, no spark. they cant even hold the ball up for 5 seconds to allow the midfield time to come up and support. Only person who has done all this is Johnson but we insist on making him a sub. he does more work in the time he is on than Sammon and Main do the whole match. Once again it seems we only played one half of the game. This time it was the first half. Any team watching us can read us like a book, one dimensional and heads down the minute we start losing.
  14. Pacy, tall and likes to play with the ball at his feet. Exactly the player I think we needed. A few months to polish his Scottish accent and get him in the first team. I wish him well and welcome to the club. Has been a welcome few signings and a good lift before playing Cannabis FC
  15. Its Aldred, thread complete
  16. Would cream my frillies if he is returning, some much needed stability
  17. Thats my biggest fear, just remember their firesale and then spent years in the wilderness
  18. I know we are a selling club and its good business but selling two of our best players within a very short space of time is going to hurt us badly. it will take time for any replacements to be found and get fit (no one we have brought in so far has been fitter than the pilsbury doughboy) then get used to our style of play. could be months (Hartley). All the time we are playing competitive games. Wish the sales could be confined to preseason before any competitive games. At least come January we have an idea where we are in the league and if there is a need to sell or bring in anyone. Robinson must be frustrated as hell trying to build a team, getting outbid for players he has been targetting for months and losing his best players. Who would be a manager...not me.
  19. you pissed or your spell checker on the blink...or more probably your brain cell
  20. I think people on here have the right to bitch. We have some quality ball playing midfielders who when they do get a game show everyone that they can do it but get benched continually for the likes of Rose and Grimshaw. We need a ball winning midfielder in the team but not a whole midfield of them. Hibs pace totally negated the whole defensive midfield setup we had and they just passed the ball around them. When Frear and Bigi came on the difference was clear to everyone with half a brain cell. We were much more positive and actually took the game to hibs a lot more with Johnson's chances the result. Its bloody frustrating when the world can see these type of players improve the balance and creativity of the midfield but we chose not to play them for this god awful punt up the park style of play. I understand sometimes we need to park the bus against teams but when the approach is clearly not working it needs to change quickly not when the game is basically over 3-0 down.
  21. I agree, Johnson didnt struggle at all today (other than finishing) with the chances he had (4+ clear shots on goal iirc) that none of the other two so called strikers we had on the field had all day. Bigi came on and showed some patience and composure on the ball and we started creating those chances for Johnson. If we can see it I just cant understand why the Motherwell management can't. Is it just a play ugly and survive in the league attitude we seem to have developed?
