The Well Society @TheWellSociety 2hWe are optimistic we will reach the £800,000 target by the end of November following confidential talks over a soft loan. Any more info about this anyone..?
-
agree with this..for me fan ownership will never allow us to progress in any way. Tin hat on.
-
I have mixed emotions on this. On the one hand I feel he should be concentrating on getting some major problems sorted here first. However, for any person to improve they need to get new ideas, new ways of doing things. If McCall can pick up new ideas then it may be no bad thing. I just wish we could use different tactics as ours are so easily read I don't think opposition coaches even bother turning up to watch us play anymore.

Fuck them lets get in about this shite, fuck the accies we will hammer them. If the players can't get up for a derby they should be tarred and feathered and run out of town.

We must also have the emptiest corporate boxes in the league. I believe the club were looking to target businesses more in an effort to increase the cash coming into the club. Fingers crossed that this is being done at the moment. I think the club have done a lot to encourage fans to come to games but as many said the numbers are falling. We need to plug the shortfall in cash from gate receipts and season tickets with money from the private sector if we can. With the country very much in turmoil then I am not optimistic but hope we can try to get something.

I would agree David if it wasn't for the way we are getting beat. Teams are beating us pretty comfortably just now. How many chances did we have on goal today at home, very few. When our top goal scorer and main threat is subbed it says a lot. Maybe most won't agree, it's early doors as you say but if we had been close possession wise, tackles flying in and a few shots on goal I would agree but the fight is not there compared to last season.

Wishing you all the best 'psycho' one of my all time favourites, if only the modern Well players had his attitude.

a few grumpy folk on here today..

Really...?? I haven't heard any players talking about how bad they are feeling.

Well so much for player pride to fight back and show their professionalism. They should be docked a fortnights wages for the last two games and made to do double sessions on their fitness. The tracking back is non existent in this squad and putting in a tackle before the opposition get into the danger area is a completely alien concept and seems to have completely missed the squad and management despite it being a major issue last season and in the home game. How many times does it need to happen before they realise they have an issue. How many 2-0 leads do we need to lose, how many last minute goals before it finally sinks in and someone actually takes some responsibility. The one up top is clearly not working when that player has absolutely no person supporting them. Will we change the tactics that almost every team can now read easily..?? I Doubt it. I could put bets on exactly when Stu McCall will make a sub, who will come on and when we will lose that goal as a result of that substitution. Yes we are that transparent. Other managers don't need to send scouts anymore as our tactics and team selection is about as predictable as MJC match forecast of a Motherwell loss. I am sure the inevitable excuses will be forthcoming or maybe change it to the artificial surface to be blamed this time this time around. Predictable play, tactics and excuses. Also maybe the club should show them where they could get gym memberships rather than golf ones. At this rate I am sure the Motherwell community team could get a decent result against them.

Never a good sign when the fans are booing at the final whistle. A wee bit of grit and determination to see out a game is better than fancy flicks and casual passing when 2-0 up.

This for me is where we never seem to learn and get punished every single time for it. I can put up with poor passing, players poor fitness but it is criminal not closing down and letting the opposition run all over you. Running alongside an opponent seems to be our motto just now. Even if someone stood in the way of the runner with the ball it would help. I would even be happy if we done it on the half way line but we let people run from their own 18 yard line almost into our box and not even a hint of a tackle.
-
I think that is down to the right side of defence. Ramsden seems to get in about it but Reid for me was the bombscare. Looked good going forward but my god did he panic if he was given the ball across the back and closed down. We need to stop trying this passing across the back because the Icelanders closed it down quickly and made our back line look way too panicky on the ball. Left side looked solid enough with McManus sweeping stuff up from Ramsdens tackles and his outball was Hammell

Trust me if you actually saw that performance you would be the same. Not doom merchants if anything a pretty damn good review on what actually happened out there.

Law was immense..got a sly kick on the left ankle which happened just after he slotted the 2nd goal. I didn't think he was coming out 2nd half as he was hobbling for some time. Carswell was anonymous first half, didn't have an issue as we were strongish going forward. 2nd half he came onto a game when the subs came on and was timely in a few tackles. Lasley was all over, covering every blade of grass, some poor passing but he managed to recover and was unlucky with the penalty and almost scored a couple himself. I liked Ramsden, he was solid, won a good % of his headers against a taller opponent. As previously said needs to work on his distribution. Reid was scary at some points and was lacking in confidence hence a lot of his passes were backwards. He can be a good tackler but almost sold the jerseys when he dived into a tackle which allowed their player almost clean through on goals by Dan pulled off a great save. Hammell was Mr dependable and with some coaxing could have done some more work down the wing. Ainsworth done some good crosses but fell out the game, needs to take on his man more. Vigurs could have imposed himself a lot more. Caught on the ball more than once. Sutton was well alone after Law went off and was a sad figure at times with no service We should and could have pinned them back and put pressure on their defence which was woeful (See our 2nd goal). Pass marks for Las, Law, Hammell and in the 2nd half Carswell. Law was easily MOM only one with some spark when he went off it was awful stuff.

Completely and utterly inept at closing down any threat. My granny could have walked through that Motherwell team in a zimmer at any point without being tackled or closed down. When Josh Law and Ainsworth went off we put Kerr and Erwin on. Erwin looked like he wanted to play but Kerr..oh dear powder puff in the extreme..Only plus point in that team was Law. He was brilliant, the spark we need but deary me we were sleep walking. First penalty was ridiculous they fire in a shot that cannonballs of las and they get a spot kick and he gets a booking. The 2nd penalty was entirely down to not closing anyone down at all they walked through our midfield then defence and then it was panic stations. I need to calm down, haven't been so angry in ages at such a surrender to a complete bunch of no hopers. Fuck me their No10 was about 20 stone and looked more like a rugby player.

Can I add the Corteo was bloody marvelous. Pity the players seemed like they were in a procession as well at times.
-
Got my two tickets, cannae wait

Well done guys I hope you get plenty of folk and have a 'corteo' full of colour and noise. Let the opposition know your coming from miles around to support the Well.

Although I agree with your sentiment, unfortunately, given our tight budget a bottom six finish would be a critical blow to our finances. I think only a Scottish Cup win would cover our losses and going into a final knowing if you are going to lose financially big time on the result of one game would see bottles crashing all over the place. To be fair I would give my left arm for a cup win of any sort.
