  1. No...and if they are then whats the point watching our club week in week out knowing that if Rangers and Celtic have a record poor season they can never be relegated. Above all else that is not right. What is the point of having a league when certain teams are not allowed to be relegated.
  2. I wont be back until MFC sell pies that don't give me third degree burns when I bite into them...!!
  3. Sorry, but a couple of thousand folk in Scotland cancelling their SKY subscriptions will not even be noticed outside the West of Scotland never mind at SKY HQ or make even a scratch in their profits. The only option is for the SPL chairmen to hold their nerve and vote through as many changes as possible. I hope that these proposed changes are all discussed prior to the vote on Rangers being invited back in as the chairmen need leverage over at least one end of the Old Firm to vote through some of the proposals. I love watching Motherwell as much as the next dosser and try to get to as many home games as I can as I know that any money I spend on match day goes into the coffers of my club. Like most on here if Rangers showed even a shred of dignity or humility about their own situation rather than doing their damdest to blame anyone but themselves I would also be better placed to forgive. Every SPL club outwith the Old Firm need to stand together and get these changes through or it will remain the same until the league dies as it surely will in its current format with the rest fighting for the crumbs from the Old Firm feast. As soon as the changes are done then they need to redress the SKY deal if not this one then on renewal telling them to get tae and get back to Saturday kick offs. Clubs have survived for many years without TV and can do so again by living within their means and bringing through their own players. I would love to see the SPL with sponsors other than from TV companies and those tasked with finding those type of sponsors need to start earning their wage. It might not be anywhere near what SKY might offer but at least the clubs and fans will be in control of the game again and no more weird kick off times. Maybe this country needs to get off the radar of world TV via SKY to rebuild our product from the bottom up until we can become competitive again on the domestic and then the European and World stage. It wasnt that long ago we were winning European trophies with home based players and its high time we ditched the corporate greed and got back to rearing our own and playing football within our own financial constraints which must be cemented in stone in the constitution of the SFA to prevent and protect our clubs from greedy chairmen and companies.
  4. If Rangers in whatever form get straight back in with nothing more than a slap on the wrist FIFA or UEFA should investigate the whole bloody mess and also the seriously flawed SFA. If other teams throughout Europe are dealt with appropriately i.e Fiorentina then Rangers should not be an exception no matter how big they think they are. Again it was mooted by many Rangers fans on the phone ins and the so called experts that the SFA should be footing the bill to allow them to fulfill their fixtures. They can fuck right off that money should be ploughed straight into grass roots football. Rangers are a business if the go bust tough shit, no handouts. They have plenty of so called money men 'fans' constantly putting themselves forward they should be the first to stick their hands in their pockets to bail out 'their club'
  5. Had to look twice there to see if that was MJC posting..!!
  6. Takes me back to when I was playing footie years ago, had a league game down the bottom of North Motherwell and halfway through the 2nd half Davie Cooper comes strolling over. (What the hell he was doing doon North Motherwell is beyond me) I ask him if he wants a game and he watches for a few minutes and says "nah I couldn't keep up with your guys" with a wee glint in his eye. He stayed right to the end and both teams were crowding round him trying to get him to sign their strips. Absolute gentleman took the time to sign every shirt and a wee chat with each player. Amazing how that memory is clear as a bell in my head all these years later
  7. That was me after another one of his inspiring braveheart speeches before our games..
  8. Where's MJC when you want to give him a kicking..?? Mr depression
  9. How long before letters start falling off like most of the signage around the stadium.
  10. what about the over 40's..??
  11. Be careful guys going to and coming home from the game, one guy has already been badly hurt this morning at Fir Park taking his son to the football coaching on the astro behind the east stand after being hit by a flying gate due to the high winds.
  12. I think a tribute to Phil is an outstanding idea but sorry, that looks so out of place its actually embarrassing to me. Grey stand, Claret signage and well badge with what looks like a tinfoil model that seems to have stuck when thrown up from someone standing on the ground. I am actually cringing. I was hoping for a statue or something . Sorry if that sounds crass but I hoped for something better that's all, doesn't make me remember Phil in any way and actually has to be spelt out for others who would probably ask the question when they seen it.
  13. The fact that our fans need to shout offensive slogans is the point really...WHY..?? Thats what gets me...I have shouted the refs an arse, their height, weight etc and other minor crap but found absolutely no need to scream abuse about someone's colour, creed, sexual orientation because some on here think thats fair game at a football game. If anyone as some have suggested called me that in the street and I wouldn't bat an eyelid are living on another planet. In no way am I a lefty, or human rights activist or politically correct in any way but I still don't see the need to shout sectarian or any other type of abuse. I for one know that working at a game that common sense prevails and the majority of police are the same (yes there are a minority like every profession who abuse their powers). I have also seen OUR fans giving some terrible abuse to the families of our own players as they are the target of the boo boys. So don't get on your high horses as a lot of our fans are pretty much guilty of a lot of the bile this law is targetted at. I don't personally support it without much more debate especially from fans but I will support anything that gets rid of some of the sick chants at ours and other grounds.
  14. The other point most people are missing here also is that the police have been trying to get out of policing football for quite a while now and they will continue to dwindle in numbers especially in the ground as SIA approved stewards become commonplace. The police like everybody else are looking at ways to cut their bills and policing at football games has come under scrutiny. The police have basically handed over almost all in house stuff back to the clubs. Most first and second division games have a token police presence and low risk premier games will follow. So stop being paranoid thinking big brother is following Motherwell fans around checking on their behaviour as the funding and resources just aren't available anymore to the police to enforce any law brought in, if anything police resources will continue to dwindle. The Police are struggling with current demand re new laws, legislation and special initiatives being launched on a weekly basis by MPs wanting their names in the headlines without a whole host of new laws to enforce as seems to be the norm with the Scottish Parliament.
  15. Murphy again posted missing in an important game, wonder when he is actually going to earn a wage against the old firm. Completely anonymous today. Just my opinion mind..
  16. Double figure for corners in the last game doesn't sound like a lack of creativity to me at all. Lack of ability to finish is more of a concern
  17. If anything I think the guys who have been playing midield just now would be a tad upset if he 'walked' into the team and the last thing we need now is any disruption to team harmony. Only sign if he understood he is covering the lads in case of injury. Didn't do enough for me in the important games when he was here and had a tendency to hide too much for my liking.
  18. He can fuck right back out the door as well..!!
  19. He is probably reading this thread, thinking we are all mad as well as watching SSN supping a beer watching all the transfers.
  20. Would rather have Beattie than Fleck if we were forced but we should be knocking back anything less than £2 million for Murphy
