  1. He's also riled up a load of basketball weirdos on Twitter.
  2. I would absolutely fucking love it if we won this with a totally undeserved Craig Reid at Pittodrie-esque injury time winner. Bowman or Hartley to score, preferably while breaking a Celtic player's nose and going unpunished.
  3. Pumping Aberdeen, Rangers and - soon to be Celtic- out of the cup this season has been grand, but I'd rather as relatively a stress free start to our Scottish Cup campaign as possible.
  4. I've 100% convinced myself that we're going to win.
  5. Wonder what the journey's like from Brighton to North London?
  6. As yer da as it sounds, I'm firmly in the get in about them camp. Our first half performance in the 4-3 game last season was perfect and should probably have seen us 3-0 up. Hopefully we now have the squad and fitness levels to maintain that for 90 minutes.
  7. We'll have gone over 9 months without playing Celtic by the time the final comes around. Strange quirk of the league system I suppose.
  8. It's been patently obvious since the Queen's Park game and in almost every game since then that our one major weakness is the massive gaps left between our centrebacks and fullbacks. Haven't seen any of the goals we conceded today but wouldn't surprise me at all if at least one of them came as a result of that. I think 3-5-2 is probably overall the set-up that suits us most but could possibly do with some minor alterations, i.e asking Cadden to give Kipre a bit more protection.
  9. Had a feeling we'd lose today. Now we're 2-0 down I've a feeling we'll get a result.
  10. I actually do think we are one of the teams better placed to get a result off of them. Despite their quality this Celtic team don't really like it up them, which plays into our strengths- pressing, hard work, doggedness and other cliches. We came heartbreakingly close in the 4-3 game last year by pretty much following that game plan. We've obviously improved significantly since then while Celtic look slightly more susceptible this time around. Odds are still overwhelmingly stacked against us but I do think we have a chance if the stars align.
  11. Not really too worried about the possibility of other teams working us out. Any opposition system set up to try and nullify us will invariably expose other weaknesses that we should be able to take advantage of if we're as good as we think we are.
  12. You've mentioned this a few times, and I do agree with the general point, sort of, in that Hibs probably had the edge over us in terms of technical ability and a wee bit of quality that was possibly the deciding factor in the result today. But I do think it's a tad disingenuous to ignore the Aberdeen and Rangers cup ties when talking about our results against the better teams. 1/15 is obviously a pretty disappointing stat on the face of it, but knocking out the country's 2nd and 3rd best teams with a 5-0 aggregate score* would allay some of my fears. *6-3 if you include league games
  13. Not really too bothered tbh. We were below par, Hibs slightly better. We made a mistake for their goal and were denied an equaliser by fine margins. 0-0 would have been a fair enough reflection.
  14. Imagine we win the cup after this though? Scenes.
  15. We should fuck about with different defences in the weeks leading up to the final then play Hammell in midfield IMO.
  16. I'd rest either/both of Cadden and Campbell. Neither had the best games on Sunday and looked understandably jaded after basically playing football non stop for months if you take international games into account.
  17. I'm sure the club will be able to use yesterday as a fantastic selling point to English lower league players. It's surely a no brainer to guys like Hartley or Kipre that they'd rather be playing and winning semi finals in front of a 44,000 crowd at Hampden live on BT than sitting on Blackpool's bench or in Leicester's academy. Louis Moult is the perfect poster boy for this transfer strategy, he's came up here and undoubtedly improved his game, scored barrowloads of great goals in massive games, raised his national profile and cemented himself as a club legend. When he leaves, hopefully with a cup winner's medal, he'll become a much richer man at his next club.
  18. If Moult had scored that 40 yarder immediately after lobbing Alnwick I honestly think I'd have either seriously injured myself or ended up on the pitch.
  19. Hopefully Bowman plays and karate kicks Tierney in half again.
