Yeah this would be my position too. If we don't get any decent offers and are left with the choices of either selling him for peanuts and scrambling around for a 15 goal striker in late August or getting another season out of Moult then letting him leave on a free I'd rather the latter. He clearly wants a move but -purely conjecture-he doesn't strike me as the type to throw his toys out the pram in the way it was suggested Johnson might. Best case scenario for all parties is probably a League One side offering us £600k ASAP though tbh.

No idea if he's any good but Maynard is an out and out striker I'm sure. Assuming Mcinnes is sticking to a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 I'd be surprised if Aberdeen are still in for Moult, or any other striker.

As with Cadden to Hearts, I doubt anyone in Scotland outwith the OF would be able to offer anything close to our valuation of players. Even with the Hayes money I'd be surprised it Aberdeen are prepared to chuck £500k+ at one player.

Yeah I meant that if we play a team away twice pre-split then we're guaranteed them at home twice the season after. And vice versa. Hibs will replace Inverness so we'll go to ER at least twice.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the season ahead. I reckon we'll probably bounce around the lower end of that 4th-9th pack and be in contention for top six but likely end up a fairly comfortable 7th or 8th. Now I've said that we'll either finish 2nd and win the cup or be relegated before the split.

I've always enjoyed Mcdonald's interviews/press conferences. He always comes across as a genuinely interesting and well spoken guy, especially in comparison to the typical footballer's interview.
