That first half performance was one of those that's so bad you can't really grasp unless you witnessed it in the flesh. Playing 3 out and out strikers leaves us terribly narrow and one dimensional. We finished strongly though and I'm happy enough with a point.
Hopefully the Maryhill 800 get the applause they deserve.
I've not really seen much in Thomas to suggest he's anywhere close to this level right now. Other than a few stepovers and an assist against St Johnstone two seasons ago I can't remember him actually influencing a game.
Both teams have had practically identical starts to the season, hopefully home advantage will prove the difference in what I'm sure will be a close game. 2-1.
If we got near £500k then I'm happy enough. He was an occasionally special player but 9/10 times he would dribble past a player, sprint to the final third and then lose the ball.
I'm in the Lionel camp. Johnson is marginally more consistent but on his day Ainsworth's final ball makes him one of the most dangerous players in the league.
To be fair, Andreu had scored something like 13 league goals from midfield in the half season before he was sold, and was going to a top end Championship team rather than Oxford United. There's a reason he cost more than Marvin will.
Yeah Tait is definitely a solid enough full back in this league. I feel like Hateley had that wee bit more dynamism and quality though, will be interesting to see how Tait improves at this higher level.
Hateley is obviously better than Tait, but I don't think right back is that big a priority for us to warrant using up what's left of our budget on one.
