I was vehemently against the Hastie signing but now I've read he was decent in a friendly loss to Killie I'm going to get his name on the back of my kit.

This is the worst possible time for us to sell IMO. You'd have to imagine we'll struggle to get anywhere near the £2-3m being talked about last summer while he's coming off the back of a year out and the entire football industry and transfer market is in an unprecedented state of disarray- two factors that you'd hope won't be as big an issue in January. It'd be quite nice to actually see him play as well.

I'm not convinced our options in summer were- a) a guy who was playing in the Spanish third tier and had just been released from Wolves' academy, b)a 26 year old winger from Solihull Moors, or c) Scotland internationalist Jamie Murphy who cost Rangers 7 figures from a Premiership team a few years ago.

To me a fairly sensible solution would be something like Celtic giving us a million upfront in the summer, with some very very reachable future incentives- i.e another million once he plays 25 games or Celtic sell him for a profit- to bring it up to the original fee agreed. Should hopefully ensure that Celtic aren't spending £3m on an unknown quantity but we'll still get the planned amount unless he turns out to be totally crocked.

There was quite a lot of trouble after the Hearts Rangers game last week- mainly instigated by the home fans apparently- so maybe a response to that.
