I am maybe preaching to the converted but we have to realise that all signings are a gamble. Yes even Faddy back in mid season though less so, not match fit, and recent injury history. Yes it came off without him reaching his peak. Imho the success we had was more to do with the "lift" he brought to all about the club. For instance is it a gamble for Higdon to repeat his goalscoring feat wherever he plays next season?.

Afraid I will show my age by admiting to being in the schoolboys enclosure that memorable day.
-
Not half as funny as Ferguson and Dodds thinking they recognised a footballer. On second thoughts even just "thinking"

Was intending go to game and stay overnite. Not now. Is it too late to have this published in Daily Rancid tomorrow. Have MFC intimated their displeasure to Utd. at this latest act of idiocy.
-
Bit slow but I got there eventually. Might have to change name to village idiot

Which Travel Lodge? Being Quoted £70 & £74 for Aberdeen Centre ones.

Had to be Murphy, showed the talents we know he has although he doesn't do it in enough matches. Big difference for me is that yesterday as well as in the St. Johnstone game he wasn,t stuck out on the left touch line where his options are limited ie pass back to Hammell or go diagonally back to make room to go forward by which time opponents can have 11 men behind the ball.

Despite the Higdon hat trick, and some tremendous saves from Randy, I have to give it to Kerr. For a 19yo an exceptional all round performance. He has to remain at RB. Only downside is Hately for me proved once again he is not a midfeld player.
-
Don't know about that. If he signs for a certain Third Div Sevco lot and is injured he has every chance of being selected.

Kerr is 19/20 is he not. On another thread we have the pro/cons of playing Cummins after only 2 competetive games now we are suggesting he Kerr plays after 10/15minutes against Everton. Fail to see the logic.

Tin hat on, here goes. This discussion of who was in charge if/when our youth system "failed" is academic. Just how many have come through in say the last 15 years. McFadden. Clarkson, Murphy ?. This I believe is the case across Scotland and possibly England too. I also believe there are many reasons for this situation. Number one is the raw talent again for varied rasons is not available. I watch my grandson train with an u12 team consisting of work that it is almost a repetition of the warm up we see prior to Saturday match games. No ball work. The coaches spend a lot of their free time with the kids but have to ask how qualified are they. Is this type of coaching common across the board?. Is this the type of coaching applied at SFA camps?. I can remember when all teams could take young players from the "Juniors" and turn them into decent and often successfull Seniors. Nowadays Junior teams consist mainly of overage failed seniors or those who will never make it. Anyone who watched the Wishaw game will know what I mean.

Take your point however to me they have signed very physical players ie Tokely. I know we should have enough skill to see a victory but we don't have a good record against teams who are prepared to play that way. I wonder too how much Tuesday and not getting injured will come into it.

Apologies if this should be posted in Travel but it doesn't look as if there has been any postings on there for months!. Can any of our northern based posters recommend a reasonably priced b&b,guest house, other in the Dingwall preferably or Inverness for the night of Sat 4th. Aug 2012. My online enquiries are either expensive, unavailable, or minimum 2 nights. Travel from South Scotland by bus or train not yet finalised would expect to arrive Inverness around noon. Conon Bridge is a possability for stay but not happy with another stop between Dingwall and Inverness.

On another aside note. Law took most of the corners in the Everton game with Hately staying back.

Seen quoted here that Lotto is Equivalent to £4 or so a month but am i right in saying monthly dd is not an available option. Having bought CL tickets, signed up to MFCTV, and intending to purchase season tickets in the next few days another £50+ just now is out of the question. Can the club be influenced to change this.
-
Has this been confirmed?. Can't find anything on official site. Club would have to administer it surely.
-
I too thought Law had a very good game yesterday, doesn't have the the tackle strength of Jennings but on the other hand he is much more mobile and has more pace.
-
All I need now is some kind person to provide car parking space in their drive for the day. Travelling from darkest South Lanarkshire, need car for return journey home. And a bus seat of course.
-
On the few occasions i watched the U19 last season Hetherington to me was very similar in style of play in many ways to Jennings. Different level of course but these guys in the circumstance we find ourselves in must be given every opportunity.
-
I visited the website yesterday and it certainly appeared to be accepting online registrations at £52. From a personal point of view i wonder if a monthly direct debit option of say £5 would be benificial. I intend to take out a season ticket this week and another £52 is stretching the finances a bit whereas £5/10pm would not.

Straight Question(S) To The Board Of Mfc Re. Sfl Proposal
Villageman replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Quite correct. You haven't read the words "above us at all costs". However the rules now being proposed are 1) Newco placed in SFL1 and 2) Play offs to ensure that The Newco end up promoted. These rules are certainly placing them above the rest of the teams in the SFL at all costs. Furthermore inmo if the new rules are not successful in achieving the desired result a newer set of rules will be proposed to solve that problem. -
What makes you believe that the authors of this document ever had the INTELLIGENCE to consult the fans, forums or otherwise.
-
My understanding is they have to agree to meet only the "football debt" i.e Hearts, Dundee Utd presumably the Austrian club.
-
No No No to Hately in midfield. Jennings is a ball winner with very good ball distribution skills. I don't think I am being hard on Hately to say he has neither. Hope Stuart McCall can find an ace in the pack.

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
Villageman replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
The statement like the earlier one can be taken any way you want to. However when lquidators are appointed the assets of Rangers have to be sold to the highest bidder. That means Ibrox, Murray Park etc. Green saying he will buy the "Club" for 5.5m is imho rubbish. The Newco/SPL argument is critical granted but there are other important decisions to be made prior to that. Players are assets so in theory they could belong to liquidators. Did i not read that the PFA argued that contracts are void and players are free to move out of contract. Where do the Newco play?. Under licence at Ibrox?. Against SPL rules?. I guess I am really saying that the many other questions have to be resolved before a YES/NO vote is taken. Is it feasable that these other points are not resolved prior to the beginning of the new season?. Forgot about the double contracts, complicates it even further.
