  1. Stuart said on BBC radio the other night that he would`nt be afraid to play young players if they proved to be good enough, but he would try and get a good balance with some experienced players. It was very encouraging to see two forwards staying up on the half-way line as we defended corners on Sat. Changed days from the defend at all costs - so I look forward to some other inventive ideas emerging in the coming weeks. Here`s hoping.
  2. My team . A forward line of Hunter, Reid, St John, Quinn and Weir. (Poetry in motion) I seem to remember Pat Holton playing at left back. Charlie Aitken was one of the best headerers of a football in the world - he would jump and just seem to hang in the air as he flicked his blond hair on the ball to either clear in defence or score on the attack. (a true `Well Legend) Fantastic football played before massive crowds crammed into Fir Park and other stadiums. My heroes but I remember the old codgers of the day saying - "Aye - the`re guid, son, but no as guid as Ferrier and Stevenson" Bring on a new generation of young talent so I can make my comparison!!!!
  3. Could`nt agree more. Best wishes to Mark and I hope he continues his development and has a successful career. Always werlcomed back to Fir Park.
  4. Don`t need to worry. Blackman has left his shooting boots in the Fir Park locker!!!!! Craig was beginning to show signs of weariness in the last few weeks at Fir Park so we certainly got the best of an "old man" !!!! He could`nt believe that Aberdeen were daft enough to give him a two and half year contract - he`ll be lucky to last a year after the `Dons have a terrible start to the new season in a very competative First Division.!!!!!!!! I WISH
  5. Could`nt agree more. How we start the game will be crucial. Just hope we can be positive and aggressive and get that first goal.
  6. Craigen outmuscled by a big dumpling and United score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Hope it`s a case of never in the game and then skip up the Tannadice park and nick a winner. Just hope we don`t have a keepers slip like the last time I was up at Tannadice but Randolph seems to be in fine form.
  8. Sorry to see him go. I know he does`nt have the sweet left foot of a "Forbes" but always felt that he did the "dirty hard work" job that sometimes goes unnoted by some fans. Best wishes to Mark.
  9. Can`t wait to get into the Dundonians on Sunday. Stuart will have the boys well up for this game and I predict that they will not be able to cope with a rampant Humphrey on one wing and sleek Murphy on the other flank. Just hope Craggs can have a good away day and no daft mistakes that will cost us dearly. Up the `Well.
  10. Thought the forwards all put in good performances but Blackman should have played in others on some occasions (typical centre forward - greedy for his goals) so the Humph gets my vote to=day.
  11. Great to see "Randy" making a fantastic save at the end to confirm a solid performance. Well done and just the encouragement we needed before a great Europa night on Thurs. Come on ye `Well...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. ...."M`well looking comfortable - dose`nt seem a way back for Killie" Hope that`s not the kiss of death!!
  13. Glad to see McHugh getting a decent run. Think he is more than capable of snatching a goal.
  14. Just hold out now. No lapse of concentration like last week just before half-time.
  15. Might take the new formation a little time to gel. Hope the defence can be strong against what sounds like a lively `Killie.
  16. Thanks Bliki, but the congratulations should go to your team. You put on a neat tidy performance and managed to carve out four/five clear cut chances over the two games. Your failing was that you did`nt have a clinical finisher and our keeper did`nt really have any saves to make. Best wishes for the rest of your season.
  17. Humph was a lot better last week. At least he managed to put a few crosses into the six yard area. His pace will always be an advantage if he can manage to produce an end product - time will tell if this can be achieved but certainly worth another try IMO.
  18. 8.05 pm BBC Radio Scotland mw810 has been advertised on radio tonight .

    Jim O'Brien

Best of luck to Jimbo, always gave 100% effort. Give us one last great performance to seal our Europa place.
  20. A great initiative by the club Not only will it encourage home fans to attend but it might just attract a good visiting support to help create a great atmosphere. Get as many friends and family to come along and cheer the team. Come on ye `Well......
  21. Great result, and well done the boys. Did`nt manage through today but listened to bits on the radio and the fans sounded in very good voice. Great stuff. Keep up the great support for the last three games.
  22. Moulde Stadium looks ideal for our purposes - and could`nt agree more with Al B `s proposals. Back in Dec Hearts had the initiative of reducing prices for advanced tickets sales and I made up my mind to travel to Tynecastle (along with a very healthy `Well Support) Unfortunately the deal was`nt offered for this week-end (I suppose the marketing people thought there was no need ie not between Christmas / New Year but a decisive "six pointer") Although my heart was at Tyncastle, I could`nt justify the extra cash for a capital visit. But how many extra fans would we have taken if reduced prices had been on offer. Mr.Boyle - please take note.
  23. WIN and WIN - forget 5th as Ross County are going to win the cup anyway (just look at United`s record) Much better to win our place on merit (having said all that will still settle for any route, yes even fair play if that was the only way left)
  24. Hope michael can (he has - great stuff) keep a clean sheet - it will certainly help his confidence. Was listening to all mic`s earlier on and it seemed that we were all over the jam tarts. Great to be in third place, just need to keep up the performance levels over the last three games. Up the `Well.
  25. Thats why we are `Well fans. Always the unexpected, never the predictable - Anything could happen over the last four games, but ....WE LIVE IN HOPE.
