  1. Brilliant business with Big Marv . Hopefully it will bear fruit from a transfer fee off the back of watching the big chap ripping right backs a new one every week. Would like us to get another centre half sorted asap. Needs time for a central pairing to gel, I would take Clubber Laing back happily. Hopefully Robinsons Irish background will unearth a gem or two. As for Carswell, promised much to start with, but did not take his chance. His inability to pass anything but backward or sideways was painfull to watch. Best of luck Stuart Crabswell , hopefully you develop with the Buddies. It's up to you how you go forward, in every sense...
  2. Coming to a Community Club near you - The Boomerang Boys... I'm all for the return of former players, as long as they are back to bring on young prospects and not pick up one last pre-retirement deal. Slight caveat here- Stephen Craig and Abel Thermius need not apply
  3. ... Or perhaps Elvis could model it when he rides up Fir Park Street on Shergar...
  4. Dammit , had one of those . 1985It was the Bradford City top with our badge sewn on. Austerity 1980s style Knew I should've kept it
  5. The late season end and the subsequent delay in knowing what league we ended up in clearly had an impact on the whole shirt sponsor issue- although I for one liked the season we put the Puma one on sale without the sponsors logo. Same issues in terms of recruitment, all likely candidates will have been off to sunny climes. Momentum lost indeed, but we don't have the situation where we've played European ties and are still recruiting. A solid set of friendlies and an opportunity for the new fitness and recovery guru to prepare them properly will do for me.
  6. Always a bit sceptical about appointing a 46 yr old who's been a manager/ asst manager at various clubs down south . Unless his package offered a significant share of the spoils in future transfer fees I just couldn't see him sticking around if another club came looking. Be interesting to see what fruit the new worldwide scouting network bears. Hopefully it's not just a few guys watching random YouTube show reels til they go blind...
  7. No such thing as a negligible saving , sell the Commodore 64 and use a spreadsheet , already renewed?click Yes . Check list for Not Renewed. print labels- post accordingly . Simples...
  8. Renewed ours on the phone 2 June. Took more than a week for the dosh to come out my account. Another week later I get our renewal letter- wasted postage fee. Still no actual season tickets through though. Joined up thinking please?
  9. Chin up lads . I sense an air of pessimism, I'm saving mine for the Cup Draws!
  10. Bobbybingo, thanks for that Absolutely magical memories. Willie P at his unstoppable best- these guys were my first real heroes. Diagonal stripe would be a nod to those guys Or what about a new trend with a giant hashtag#
  11. Strictly speaking, Chris's goals per game was better than his handsome wee brother. That said, if your auntie had a pair of baws, she'd be your uncle- statistically speaking
  12. Most of the january influx was to cover for the unprecedented number of injured guys while they recovered. I think a dozen replacements is over optimistic- Double figures would be a stretch
  13. ...and JS clearly doesn't want to be a B part player...
  14. Mobile High tempo Passing possession game- Baraclough's mantras I don't think Big Handsome ticks those boxes- yet he was offered a deal???
  15. Hopefully if we shop in Ireland, hopefully we do better than the last forayRemember- Paul"pizza franchise" Keenan Trevor"the Monk" Molloy Danny"Cockney Reject" Murphy The Fun Boy Three...
  16. Hope the Head of Recruitment leaves his shopping list on the way out the door!
  17. I for one will miss Big Handsome John. A regular goalscorer is gold dust in any side. Had harboured hopes of him getting the best supply he's ever had from Marv and Ainsworth, sadly not to be. I presume he's secured a longer deal, can't see St J offering more money. Sutty isn't the complete footballer- so what if he barely ever won a ball in the air- and there are few more magnificent sights than him in full flight, arms punching up and down, pounding along like he was towing a caravan... Bottom line- the guy is a goal scorer ,anything else was just parsley on the bowl of life's soup. Good luck to you Sir. Big shoes to fill...
  18. Martin left as an untried youngster. Erwin has progressed steadily through the ranks and I can see why he wants his next step up. Moore looked very bright pre-injury but hasn't shone since his return. I just don't see him leading the line, I'm afraid he's a bit part player at best. He is not a McDonald by any stretch.
  19. O Ye of little faith, I think he's got every chance of becoming a better and better player. Try watching the (endless) League One show highlights on Sat nights then tell me he's not capable of shining in amongst that lot...We need to up our game in terms of transfer revenue, but as it is Lees money is as good as we've done on the last few seasons. Secret is to build on it
  20. Good luck to him, business done early no protracted "will he-won't he?" Just hope LUFC don't dick about with compensation payment Sell on clause?
  21. Always a quandary for young players, stay and develop- or go and develop. On balance I think it's maybe best for Lee and the club for him to go. Leeds are not the legendary club of old, he has a great chance to establish himself quickly there. Cash from his move will ease matters considerably as we rebuild a squad. Not cashing in could backfire, he's only really been a regular for 3-4 months and his first full season would see him a marked man ( big Mohsni has already marked him!) I wish him all the best either way...
  22. Geedub That's the kind of attitude that could make Mike Ashley a very poor man... I'm happy to fork out for merchandise as long as it's decent quality and doesn't cheapen the image of the club It's all pennies in the coffers Turnstile cash is becoming an ever smaller part of the income stream these days unfortunately
  23. That's an ageist statement there, mate. It's all about the history- past, present and future... If it's good, it's good If it's shot, it's shit P.S / how about a wee discount for the over 30s????
  24. I liked the white away strip with the multi pin stripe claret n amber band down the left chest side- (hampden semi 1976 v Gers. Don't get me started on the ref, mind you revenge is a dish best served cold- 39 years later)
  25. Speaking of Leeds- the Admiral strip that followed the sash one- a claret and white stripe the full length of the sleeves and a very bright yellow was a monstrosity . Skin tight and made of the roughest nylon material . No repeat of that please. Black socks???? Just plain Naw!
