  1. Incredible stats for the 'Well288 appearances 284 goals Legend doesn't even begin to describe the man
  2. The march of time has robbed Keith of his prime asset , the ability to recover quickly from making full blooded tackles. Just no longer within his capability. Sad , but inevitable. Time to move on, cameo substitute appearances and a gentle bow out in May, best all round. A fabulous servant but all good things come to an end.
  3. Totally agree , Campbell , Cadden and Frear gave us forward momentum. I can see why experienced is also needed, but Pearo seems to be alarmingly off the pace. Injured? Lacking confidence? Narcoleptic? On balance I'd probably still start him before Clay or Lucas
  4. Campbell- what a shift Frear was immense too Skippy set up Campbell brilliantly Samson saved us three or four times McHugh makes us composed at the back Cadds goal was taken really well, great decoy run from Campbell to open the space for him
  5. Yes Vigours was there best player by a mile. Always thought he was a good midfielder.[/quote
  6. It's mind gamesAll a smokescreen for the last minute return of - Joe Chalmers - the ultimate secret weapon
  7. Don't you have to actually touch the ball to qualify, Taylor never did... Daniel Sengewald( the bookies in tynecastle was still listing odds on him scoring for us - a season after he left) Tony Straker The Flask Adam Coakley Barry John Corr
  8. Seriously? Does your support take the form of a silent motionless vigil? I'm sure you channel plenty of positive thoughts though. Each to their own...
  9. Fair enough , but if your house was on fire I take it you wouldn't be out there haranguing the fireman while they were still tackling the blaze. We can only play with the cards we're holding. Time and a place for everything... Any hoo Barman, mix me another metaphor please
  10. We have had injuries in defence particularly, midfield and up front too. Of course we've had to use inexperienced guys. All this doomsday forecasting on here absolutely pishes on my chips. Nay-sayers and know it alls. SUPPORT THE TEAM FOR THE NEXT 6 GAMES, please, that's the most positive and effective thing to do. Tiresome reading the same moaning again and again
  11. Frear again delivered cross after cross, contributed more defensively too, another plus
  12. Bowman for me. Touch, strength, pace- improving every game. We missed Moult, Blyth didn't contribute enough Credit to Samson, crucial saves, again
  13. My mistakeSamson needs us to get off his back and encourage him though Like it or not he's the guy who'll be in goals til the end of the season
  14. My point is, Samson gets dogs abuse most weeks. McHugh basically misjudged the cross for their winner and just took the pace off the ball which dropped for him to take his shot. His mistakeSamson wouldn't be my choice ideally but we don't have a sufficiently experienced backup. So give him a break Simples...
  15. Two errors = two goals via McHugh , nothing to do with the keeper I think he's a very good midfielder, doing a passable job at the back. Samson is a decent keeper, not a great one. But the stick he takes is unproductive at best. He's been better than most lately.
  16. Samson Tiresome ironic booing and jeering him, what does that achieve ? Makeshift defence in front of him, McHugh jumping under cross balls cost us, not Samson. Moult grafted Frear delivered a cross ball virtually every time he got the ball Bowman looked the part, unlucky with his header.
  17. Does all this activity mean Pearo is out of the picture?
  18. So that's only the third time in his managerial career he's felt as let down as that? F ck me, he's got a VERY selective memory- Or was it - - an Oscar-winning deflection from potential abuse - for leverage in transfer dealings - he's just run his course
  19. McHugh- five months out and he produces two games in a week like that, outstanding. A rare commodity, he seems to take time on the ball when there seems to be none there. A proper team effort, apart from Lucas' stupidity. Skippy was tireless, Campbell looked right at home. Clay tired badly(thanks for that Lee) McMillan looked lost second half, but he's learning game by game
  20. He sprung into life briefly second half. Thanks for the £650k or whatever it was, on that showing we did rather better than them on the deal.
  21. CMWellfan You are either; -Les Hutchison -Fergus McCann -Donald Trump or You are hiding your pills under your tongue when Nurse Ratched does her meds rounds. Your omniscience is so overwhelming , but I'd be happy for you to spend a bit of time sorting world hunger/ the Middle East/ Brexit/ global Warming. Shouldn't take someone of your talents too long. Give us a shout when you're through that lot.
  22. Tactical master stroke. Two young right footed players played on the left in the second half- both naturally take the ball onto their right foot, thus ensuring absolutely no width or forward impetus. Moult playing too wide to get involved. Dull dull dull Cadden at least used his physical strength and stuck at it We're no further forward in terms of formation or form than we were at the start of the season
  23. I don't see any of the youngsters starting I'm afraid, I think they got their chance at the Potato Bowl primarily because it was a game that nobody expected to yield any points at all. I think the old guard will return for both games. Harsh , to say the least, but mark my words...
  24. Ffs What is it with the glass half empty stuff? I trust this forum won't be full of whingers if the much forecast "inevitable " humping actually happens On the point of losing winnable games- I would equally argue that most of this seasons draws would've been defeats last season "Barman, a top up please , my glass appears to be half full!"
