Those three defeats to Falkirk will go down as one of life's great mysteries and I suspect JBA still loses sleep over it. I suppose it could be explained by concluding that the spawny, diving Bairns got every refereeing decision in their favour and we got hee-haw but I'm not really qualified to judge 🤣.

This is desperate, desperate stuff, intit? The Celtic "fairy dust" isn't as strong as their deluded fans imagine. I remember Tommy Coyne telling them where they could go when they came sniffing around him again during his long, hot spell at Fir Park (wottaguy!). All our boys will be out for the three points on Wednesday so COYW!

Thanks! What's wrong with being a grandad? 🤔

Yes and if that pen had been given, so should Maswanhise's, since there was contact on his shin, though not much. We also had a claim for a hand ball from Watt's shot, though I can't understand why Longelo's arm ball in the first half wan't looked at by VAR (or spotted by the linesman and referee). Overall I think a draw was fair but Treacle Tan Man is rather annoying with his fake outrage. "If they overturn, there can be no guesswork, why is that such a difficult notion 🤷♂️ well done to mclean for sticking, would have been easy to cave in there. " Spot-on, mfc88.

Surprised to hear Faddy say in his post-match comments on MurdochVision that Hearts should definitely have had a penalty in the Kyziridis incident. I can't see it clearly even on watching several replays. Obviously, Boyd agreed ("Derek will be raging", etc.) and made it worse by claiming the penalty in the previous game at Tynecastle was correctly given too. Maybe if K. hadn't rolled about so much it would have looked more convincing but I agree with JBA that it was surprising it wasn't given in the circs. I thought McInnes was going to have a cardiac arrest at one point.

I must admit my heart sank when I heard Gordon had to be drafted in tonight but I thought he played really well too, though I felt we missed Paul McGinn's composure and passing in general. I've been critical of Steve McLean in the past but thought he withstood the pressure to give Hearts their penalty admirably. The VAR team must have thought that it should have been given but credit to him for sticking to his original decision. So I was wrong twice tonight but Mrs Dosser assures me this is par for the course 😱.

More analysis for the intelectchools on here:

Yes, just another example of the dire state of Scottish football. I'll be very surprised if there is no contoversial decision like a penalty or sending off to torpedo our chances. I fully expect Hearts to exploit his "incompetence"; they will be very physical but curiously fragile when tackled themselves. Wonder what the odds are on a Slattery red card?

It's all falling into place nicely.........😱👹😱. Probs only Beaton could have been worse.

Delighted for him. Should be interesting to see how he gets on in the "best league in the world".

It would have been time to get the Leonard Cohen LPs out the loft. Or descent into weremadness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qae25976UgA

Death wish? Surprised the owner is willing to bankroll him.

Well, as we all know as 'Well fans, it's the hope that kills you, but the players owe us one for yesterday's huge disappointment. I can't believe they want this season to fizzle out.
-
Thought JBA looked ultra-frustrated/raging after the match yesterday so I hope that translates to the players next Saturday. Terrible KO time, of course, because the authorities couldn't care less about the proles.

I just get disgusted by the sheer dishonesty and mental gymnastics used by Collum (and the authorities generally) to justify the unjustifiable. If I'd had to suffer another year of Kettlewell hoofball and the joy-sucking effect of VAR and its subsequent crap decisions, I would probably have given up going to 'Well games, something that I never thought I would say. In his post-Falkirk interview, I thought JBA bit his tongue a bit and didn't go large on the refereeing decisions in the three games we lost to Falkirk but from the first bad one when Said's wonder goal was chalked off for nothing, it seems we have been pretty hard done to when playing them. Wasn't at Falkirk yesterday but reports of Slattery-esque simulation, a player on a yellow handling without consquence and Bairns players allowed to commit multiple fouls without a caution, it seems it was same old, same old. I doubt Slattery will hang about with a further suspension hanging over him and a very good season behind him.

Sounds like we're going to try to pure malky them. Tongs, ya bass!

Yes, he probably will. I once saw some advice online: "Never get down and dirty with a pig. The pig will just enjoy it and you always end up covered in shit." In any case, if Hearts beat them on Monday night, they'll be cooked. I love the smell of crackling in the morning 😈.

Facts are wasted on stumers, something I have discovered the hard way. You were quite right, best not to engage, and not to argue with half wits.

I was talking to a Rangers fan earlier today whom I always thought was quite normal. He quickly blew that by saying he was sick of Scottish football because everyone was raising their game just to beat Rangers. When I pointed out both Hearts and MFC had beaten Celtic there was an awkward moment: which allowed me toexpresss surprise at the time. I thought it was Sellick fans who were supposed to be paranoid.

Any truth in the rumour Hearts fans were singing "Stand up and sing for Motherwell" after hearing the result at Ibrox? Surely shome mishtake.......
-
Conspiracy theorist 😂. Now that I have calmed down a bit, I thought Ward's "bowling" yesterday was excellent and provided some variety in how we usually play out from the back, our third goal being a good example. And that save from Chermissi was brilliant. BTW, isn't Raskin a really annoying wee dweeb? Lovely day today, inntit?
-
Quite: not bad for "shitebags", innit? 🤣
-
Unlike us 🤣. If we'd had an out-and-out striker since Game One, who knows what would have happened this season? Happy for Spittal, though.

Apart from all the great goals Willie Pettigrew scored (often against Celtic), one of his greatest feats (imo) was scoring four against Dundee at Dens Park (a young Gordon Strachan and all) in a 3-6 victory. He and Bobby Graham ran riot that day. As for tomorrow, I expect to get little from the referee in front of the baying hordes of Castle Grayskull, even though I think we are good enough to beat them (think of the foul on Fadinger in the last minute of our game at Christmas against Rangers, for example). I think Mr Slattery can expect some "incoming". I noticed Jens mentioned the importance of getting the right refereeing decisions in his pre-match press conference. Unfortunately this might be a further red rag to our "double-down" (and often vindictive) officialdom.

As a wee boy I always looked out for Charlie's blond hair at corners, since he was so good with his head. Of course sometimes Andy Weir would score directly from them anyway and save Charlie the trouble. A truly great Motherwell player ignored by the selectors? That would never happen! 🤣
