If a player in the Scottish premiership or even league one is banging them in and in contract it is highly likely they’ll move to a championship team for a million+ which is totally unfeesable for us. Fair enough if they are out of contract we may stand a chance but we do the same every year and do it relatively successfully signing some out of favour players make them good, with a mix of lower league players who have had a good season and with some youngsters and a good core that already exists it may not win us trophies but for a team like is that ain’t gonna happen. One year we will get a good run in the cup(s) or even a high league finish like top 4.

Same ones that have been playing all season Tait and Grimshaw. Although I don’t rate Grimshaw particularly high a lot of others do but I can appreciate that he has desire and good work rate as well as being a no bad player.

We haven’t lost too much quality IMO over the summer with the exception of maybe Gorrin and Aldred who were massive players. Hastie and Cadden won’t be missed too much and can easily be replaced. We still have a good solid core to our squad with 2 excellent goalies 2 good full backs Dunne Campbell Turnbull then u have the likes of James Scott, Donnelly etc. And then the new signings who I think will add some good quality as well as your Semple’s and Barry maguires pushing on. I am pretty optimistic for the season ahead and we seem to have so far strengthened significantly on what we had last season.

Charles Dunne wasn’t well received when he came but turned into an excellent player for us over the last 2 seasons, I was all for giving him a chance when he joined unlike others.

Just basing it off stats and highlights etc. The lad Hylton had an incredible season last year for a team who would be considered a lower national league team and he was a star player for them. A striker can be a hit or miss and the lad did have potential which makes Long a good signing in the hope it works out. Just a bit skeptics about Carroll as left backs recently haven’t worked out for us but he did look promising at a time.

Actually think the new lad will do a decent job for us and really the look of Hylton the only one I’m not 100% sure with is the left back but I’m all for giving him a chance same with any signing just left back has been a big problem position for us over the last 5 years to replace Hammell.

Cadden is a winger where he impressed most in his early days, got shifted to wing back to suit or style at the time and was rotten seriously hampered his development which is visible now.

Tanner is most effective playing as a 10 or out wide so no problems there.

Should have another signing or 2 going by Flow’s comments last week after the Hylton signing. Indicated a winger and striker. Hope we can keep Ariyibi and bring in another as 3rd choice winger to compete as well as a striker or 2 or one who can do both which may be Powell which would mean we’d still need another striker if he is signed.

We got money as well for Sheff Utd going up from Ben Heneghan even though he was on loan at Blackpool this season.

As much as Turnbull deserves all the headlines I am fearing a few clubs may be sniffing around Campbell...
