  1. Afraid you are being naive. That is just not how football operates, rarely if ever can I think of a manager who chooses to stay at a smaller club when the big guys come calling. If we continue as we are until seasons end I fully expect to start next season with a different manager. So let's enjoy it while we can and leave the worrying about JBAs departure until it happens.
  2. Correct, success for us will always be fleeting, sadly, so enjoy it all. Had we been sharper with our final ball we could have embarrassed Celtic. That's not a criticism its a frustration and takes nothing away from a stunning performance. Mindset is enormous against the OF and too often over decades we always had an inferiority complex, not helped by most managers getting their excuses in before a ball is kicked. There is absolutely none of that under the new manager, none of the punching above our weight stuff , just complete belief in himself , his players and how they play and its rubbing off on the players. When you remember how some of our previous manager spent the lead up to the OF games pretty much saying we should just be grateful to be on the same pitch as the OF no wonder we did fuck all.
  3. Doing likewise. Michael Stewart I'm told has had connections with Motherwell over the years through friends and colleagues. He definitely has a soft spot for us even before this seasons impressive stuff. He couldnt give enough superlatives about us throughout this game.
  4. Seriously???? I've lived every bloody day of those 10 years, 35 games , 30 losses, thinking Id never live long enough to ever see us beat them again. For me its felt like an eternity , like a never ending prison sentence.
  5. Any time an outsider wins any league is when 3 or 4 teams are in the mix cos they all take points off one another. I seriously don't think we have a chance but if the miracle was to happen the structure of the league is exactly how you'd want it as an outsider. How good was it to see Celtic replicate the fuck up we gave them at Celtic Park. It's a strange old game. My biggest frustration will always been the League Cup should have been in the Fir Park trophy room.
  6. A home crowd nearer 7000 than 6000 is incredible for a midweek game against one of the OF where historically our fans stay away.
  7. The only slight issue was the final ball or we'd have pumped them. However I in no way detract from an absolutely fabulous performance.
  8. I've never been so delighted to be a mile out. As fine a performance I've ever seen us play against Celtic.
  9. I could be tempted to say we will never have a better chance to beat them because they are one of the poorest Celtic teams in years. That said I've seen us fall to beat this mob in any incarnation in 11 years so I have zero confidence that we can beat them tomorrow. The last game at Celtic Park completely encapsulates our efforts against Celtic over the years. Different day same capitulation when we had them. A sore one tomorrow definately on the cards. There will be plenty plaudits and empty positives but we will still get the same points as we'd get from a horsing
  10. They are probably trying to deter the scum / animals who destroy fir park every time they visit. However easier said than done.
  11. That was exact strategy sign dozens in the hope of getting one or two decent ones.
  12. There every reason to suspect JBA has an eye for a player unlike Kettlewells scatter gun approach so we could see some decent transfer activity and with Jordan McGhee on the verge of selection we could end January with the strongest squad we've had in many a year.
  13. The defence tightening at the right time for our league challenge 😉
  14. Correct, I'm surprised to hear some Motherwell fans saying we were poor yesterday. I think it's just our expectations have risen so much. We played well today but Dundee set out to frustrate, not to match us and yeah the final ball was poor at times however had we played like that last season we'd all be saying how good we were.
  15. Made it hard for ourselves today. A bit of frustration in the stand but I think that's because our expectations have risen. Our final ball was poor but we still dominated and thoroughly deserved the win. McGinn and Welsh were outstanding. I know he scored but I really dint know how Slattery got man of the match. He's was consistently poor today. However thats small beer in and otherwise decent day and result.
  16. I did laugh at that but you know it would be such a Motherwell thing that he gets poached off us before we even get started 🫣
  17. Yes they do and as I said in my post the stewards aren't blameless but the Well Bois in front of us in the Q going into Tannadice were foul mouthed abusive and generally being obnoxious and entitled this in turn was met by the same reaction from the stewards. It was a situation that was easily avoidable. I find it utterly amazing that how some of our fans can attend every match home and away for 50 odds years, myself included , and have never been ejected from the ground or had any confrontation with the police or stewards. I guess we must just be lucky.
  18. They were acting like arseholes at Tannadice. Their sense of entitlement saw them locked out the game because they because abusive to Stewards . Doesn't matter a fuck what you think of stewarding had they not acted like entitled arseholes they'd have got into the game. No doubt we'll get the persecution response of "heavy hands empty stands"
  19. Said in jest I know but 80% is low for us we are generally 84/85%.
  20. I'm in two minds , sort of happy with the point but by fuck Utd are utter shite that's two points dropped.
  21. He was the poorest on the team today. He's back to the way he was playing before his long term injury involved in unnecessary fouls and passing was shocking.
  22. Surely that means he resigns in the morning and blames it all on the fans.
  23. Camera zoomed in on him in the stand , head in his hands looks a seriously haunted figure .
  24. LOL Kettlewell sent off, losing the plot. He knows his times coming.
  25. If you look at the "in detail stats" on the BBC site, a lot of the Livi markers are close to ours. However the ones that win the games were in our favour. I think that's maybe what he's getting at. We were comfortable winners and Ward having an outstanding save will do his confidence no harm. No failures but best for me were McGinn , SOD and Koutroumbis. Fadinger , Watt and Slattery did a good job but the defenders shade it for me, utterly composed and stuck to our play out from the back ethos. I still think Livi are a better footballing side than Dundee , Kilmarnock and St Mirren and apart from against us I'd like to see them get a wee rub of the green. Had a fiver on us at 14/1 to win 3-0, but shat out it and cashed out at £57.
