St Mirren , Kilmarnock, Dundee are bucking that trend , all have seen significant improvement in the home support. That financial side doesn't seem to be affecting other teams to the same degree. A lot more St Mirren fans can appear to afford to go to the games - please don't anyone give us the free ticket pish as the reason for St Mirrens increased attendances - that's just not true, same with Dundee and Kilmarnock who've all seen a significant up turn in attendances. I accept they have had successful seasons however even on successful seasons our attendances barely fluctuate 500 a game.

Correct, the hysteria about this game is quite an eye opener. The most depressing stat of all was again the attendance 4353 , to not even break 4000 home supporters on a glorious opening day is utterly pathetic. I'll be amazed if the WS can ever increase our pathetic crowds.

Correct and an absolute over reaction from the fans today. Sure there is a lot to improve but I've seen us play a lot worse than that today. Thought Wilson had a good game. Oxborough coming off his line for cross balls was good to see. Halliday doesn't have it for me nor does Blaney. Robinson lacks composure but puts in a power of work. Every set piece ball into their area was poor as it was last season. I do wonder how this is so difficult to remedy. As I said a lot to improve on but not the worst we will play this season.

I can never understand looking ahead to who we might get when you consider the range of utter dross that has put us out of cup competitions over the last 50 years. There is no such thing as banker watching us. As Morton showed last season and many other teams beside. Take what we get and hope for the best , assuming we beat Thistle of course.

This game could go any way, but realistically we should be beating teams like Partick Thistle at home but we all know what our history is littered with.

I actually thought some of our passing was decent in spells and on thar surface its always a struggle. We got into good positions but Moses and Roberston were'nt up to finishing some of it off. Far from a sterling performance but I do think there are signs it might be OK. Final cross ball into the area still a really weak point. Blaney cant dominate as he should for a guy of his size. Marks outta 10 I'd say 5/6.

Oxford United wanted Cadden but didn't want to pay the compensation fee of £400,000 he then went to the MLS where he played 8 games before going to Oxford United for fuck all. I'm still not convinced him and his agent didn't play us. The fact we finally got the fee to me is immaterial, I think his behaviour was suspect. A game we should have had wrapped up before Clyde equalised with a comedy of errors from us. There were pluses and minuses all over the game. Thought we looked far more Direct than we did last season. Paton and to my surprise Halliday drove us forward pretty well. Still not convinced about Blaney. Finishing was woeful. Lennon Miller showed some neat play and I thought Wilson looked as if he has something about him. A mixed bag but we got the job done, onto the next game. Anyone else think our penalty was soft?
