Gorrin certainly has potential and can pass a ball for sure, just wonder if the two of them together may be slightly lightweight.
-
Na, a horrible defeat with a few injuries thrown in, relegation guaranteed as it was a month into last season, job done and it’s a happy Saturday night.
-
It’s certainly not going to be pretty and it’s just a case of trying to grind out the win. Until we can get a few players back and fully fit it’s going to be a struggle without a doubt. If cadden is out it’s yet another blow. I would certainly start Johnstone alongside main, other than that I don’t see massive changes.
-
Yep, he’s made a pretty honest admission which sort of justifies Robinson’s decision not to start him in games. If Robinson had come out and publically slated him i’m pretty sure he would have taken plenty of stick. He’s now upped his game is is being given his chance and it’s up to him to take it.

Think we will just park at the stadium and pay the £4

Oh come on Accies were awful, yes we were poor but let’s not talk up Accies as organised, we dominated posession, certainly first half and if we had a striker up front on Saturday anywhere near on form we would have taken all three points.
-
Robinson was spot on when he said the final third cost us yesterday. We dominated posession but were woeful up front with both Main( who has taken a step back) and Sammon ( Who spent most of the game jumping into players) just not working together. Sammon should have been sent off first half for an obvious elbow and I still feel he’s a waste of a shirt and should only be used as an impact sub. Surprised to see a Bigi get a start and he did just ok, he had plenty of the ball but still flatters to deceive for me. The substitutions were a mistake, Sammon should have come off for Johnstone. At the back we are really missing Dunn with Hartley well off the pace. It’s not panic time just yet but we badly need Dunn, Tanner, and Bowman back who would make a real difference.

Far too early for anyone to be calling for him to go, St Mirren fans hounded out Danny Lennon because they thought someone else could work wonders with little money and they then endured four years of misery. How many posts were there on here last season stating we were going to get relegated ? Be very careful what you wish for.

Very hopeful of a win and unusually i’m not supporting Stephen to the game so going myself and heading into the John Hunter stand for the first time ever. I would personally still stick with Main up front just now and would love to see Aldred back in defence although I think it’s doubtful he’s ready yet. I would certainly like to see Tait in over Frear. Looking forward to it.

Yep, eight players there with two or three others such as a Hartley still not match fit. I personally like the look of Gorrin and Johnson, Aldred we know can do a job and even Sammon who i’m no huge fan of has done ok.
-
Think that’s a little unfair. I guess i’m also in the happy clapper camp if we are now labelling individuals. I just think it’s far too early to state we are doomed this early in the season with a number of new additions still to bed in. There is no doubt this forum can be a pretty depressing read at times, even last season when we actually over performed. I get that to a degree it’s down to the style of football played but I would rather that than what we had under McGee who I think was taking us down and Baraclough who had no idea what he was doing half the time. Let’s give it a few games and see how they settle, if we lose a run of games Robinson will join McGee and Barclough out the door.

Personally I feel it’s far too early to make a judgement on the squad or it’s versatility. I also don’t feel the effectiveness of his style is that open to question given last season. We did well in the league in my view and made two cup finals. Yes we lost both, but to a team head and shoulders above anyone else, even clubs on huge budgets next to ours. Along the way to the finals we beat Aberdeen, Rangers, and Hearts, the three other biggest teams in Scotland. How much more effective did his style need to be shown to be ?
-
There you go, always thought it could be done, good job all at the club.
-
It’s probably going to be a lower league player from England no one has heard of.
-
Agree with much of that. Robinson’s challenge with regards the fan base is his style of football and I can’t help feeling a good few will just never accept him for that and want to see the back of him. I don’t believe he’s going to change and as such I feel at some stage fan pressure will see the back of him.
-
It’s just too early to make judgements. The new guys need time to bed in with Donnelly, Johnson and Gorrin all looking as though they could have something to offer with Johnsone in particular another possible Moult. I’m no Sammon fan but even he has shown he has something to offer with the ball at his feet. The back three of last season has been decimated, Hartley is certain not “match” fit yet, he’s just one of those players that needs time after a long lay off and when the new centre half comes in I would expect us to go straight back to a back three with Dunn back in and McHugh back to midfield. While no fan of Sammon I do rate Bowman higher than most on here and think he has also been missed. It’s clear Robinson has not been given funds to be able to splash out and we need to remember that would apply to any other manager we have in charge and i’m sure he finds it as frustrating as the rest of us. However as with last season we play in a style he feels maximises results with what he has at his disposal and that’s not going to change . If it’s a disaster 10/15 games in he’s probably going to get sacked and we go again, might see better football under a new manager but it’s still going to be on a budget with lower league players brought in.

Slight over reaction on here as we tend to see every couple of months. It’s one game against one of the top teams in the league away from home. Kipre gone, Dunn out with Hartley not back to full fitness. Let’s give it a few games before we go into meltdown.
-
We clearly have a good amount of money after the cup finals and transfer fees received, the club has simply decided it’s going to be used in other areas.
-
They seem very impressed with him on a couple of their forums. Hopefully we have a healthy sell on percentage and another million in the bank in 12 months time.
-
They are going to have to be patient with him and just give him game time, he committed a few howlers with us early days. It’s not going to be easy for him against the far superior strikers he will come up against in the championship and the risk is they drop him and he drifts down the pecking order.
-
As it stands now I don’t see why he would not return to a club where he would be a starter and where he’s appreciated. He’s maybe not lightening fast be we know what we are getting and that’s a very solid and dependable centre half.
-
I’m not convinced that would work. People always talk about promoting youth but the vast majority turn out to be not good enough and you can’t rush the good ones through too early. I would have loved to see an established striker come in but they don’t come cheap and we would end up breaking the wage structure to even get them to sign with us. Personally I don’t think Bigi is as good as a few think he is.
-
Really I don’t see what else the club could do without running up more debt or fail to clear that we already have. The club has 3500 core support and short of a huge run of luck with a group of new, cheap signings can’t hope to compete with the large, big city clubs with support up to 15 times ours. First priority should always be get rid of that debt and then it’s going to be able to invest to a higher level in the playing squad. I don’t think it shows a lack of ambition by either the board of the supporters that advocate the above, it’s just the sensible way to move the club forward. Yes they have to balance losing too many players and risking relegation but I don’t think they have done too bad a job up to this point.

Sorry, just think you are way off the mark on this one.
