  1. I’m off, seen enough for today. Alexander has a lot of work to do.
  2. It was a penalty. Mugabi caught him before the ball. We’re a million miles away from where we need to be next season, shambles of a second half.
  3. Overall we’ve done ok although we’re again really poor at the back for their goal. Two decisions made by the ref that if made the other way round would have seen claims of old firm favouritism but we will take them.
  4. I simply don’t think that’s going to happen, way too much scrutiny when Var is involved. I’m one of the few that welcomes the decision simply because the standard of refs up here are so poor. Some of the decisions against every club in the league are laughable.
  5. I would personally not be building the defence around him, he’s still a back up player for me but time will tell. Certainly dropping down to the championship which they will seems crazy.
  6. I think this is the weakest back line we’ve had in my few years watching the club, the likes of Aldred, Hartley, Dunn, Kipre and even Gallagher were shall I put it way more organised and showed leadership. There are no leaders in the defence and they’re all over the place with periods of playing well followed by total disorganisation.
  7. It’s steelboy, nothing surprises me anymore.
  8. It says more about the standard at the back. I thought Lamie got way too much stick but he’s still just a bog standard Premiership/higher level Championship player for me. I’d rather bring back the bold Declan simply because I think he’s better than what we have now and even that would not be popular.
  9. Yep, the opposition just wonder back even slower, you gain nothing.
  10. I’d be very surprised if the defence next season is anything like this one. We need to start with a genuine leader at the back ( god I would have a Hartley back). Left back needs sorting and even at right back we don’t seem that strong although SOD should be more than enough on paper.
  11. I actually think the opening game against Hibs showed what we could do, ok we lost but if we’d carried on playing like that I would have been more than happy.
  12. Probably coincidence in truth. I honestly go back and forth on Alexander and given he’s already had a summer to rebuild there has to be question marks although any new manager needs a couple of summers to clear out players signed by a previous manager. The worry is a good number that have not performed are actually Alexander signings. I continue to be baffled by the decisions made regarding midfield and the defence is a complete mess. But it’s not all negative, he has also signed some decent players and we’ve finished top six. It’s a mix of emotions but is that not the norm at a club like Motherwell ? How often in the last 30 years has there been a faultless manager with a group of players playing attractive football and a fanbase that saw no issues ? I’m guessing not that often. If we lose every remaining game I still think he will be here for the start of next season, I’m just not sure I’m confident it will go well.
  13. You can surely though see that there is no way Motherwell are sacking a manager after finishing top six and reaching the quarter finals of the Scottish cup ?
  14. Top six is Alexander meeting any target he was given, not a fan of the style of football but he won’t be going anywhere and will start next season as our manager.
  15. End of the day it was in our own hands and we dealt with it, terrible football but we got the result we needed.
  16. And that’s why we need another goal.
  17. I’d rather we did just for the extra money, that’s still important.
  18. No we obviously don’t but that can still change in the next few minutes
  19. But another goal and it’s the draw we need.
  20. That’s the point I’m making about adapting to it.
  21. The pitch is dreadful, never seen a good game of football on it yet, but we know that and have to adapt the same way others do.
  22. Can’t really argue that the football is eye bleeding bad, it is the Livi pitch which I’m sure will be mentioned by Alexander but it’s pretty dreadful stuff regardless.
  23. I would agree, I’m slightly baffled at how well Woolery is rated, I’m not a fan at all. As you say Efford is more effective without particularly blowing me away.
  24. He’s hardly getting a game, I would move back down south in his position.
  25. Come on Yodo, it’s not my fault we won.
