What more does he need to prove at SPL level ?

A decent comeback against lower league opposition which will help with confidence. Not at the game so can’t comment on it but from what’s been said nothing has changed and the areas that needed strengthening, still need strengthening. A couple of interesting weeks ahead. Oh and Livy lost to lower league opposition, shocks happen.

Leader at the back two decent quality midfielders, and another forward player. If he signs those we will hopefully be in a better position.

We need strengthening, no argument there, but it needs to be the right players and not just extra bodies through the door, we’ve seen and done that under Robinson. Getting those players in looks to be taking longer than expected but it is what it is.

Sounds like Lawless is starting as this seasons fall guy ?

He’s certainly a player I was surprised we retained, he’s had decent games at times but he doesn’t really stand out in any particular area of the game. Now you can argue that goes for just about everyone we sign and he’s a known quantity to us but I’m surprised we thought we could not have done slightly better.

I didn’t see the game but watching the post match interview Alexander does not look particularly happy. However you can’t compare the last time we played them, Queen’s Park are now a club on the up with far better players and the’ve had more game time. I’m guessing that’s a long way from the starting 11 for the first league game with further additions still to come in. Maybe the performance also gives him some idea of what’s still needed which is not a bad thing given we are all of the same opinion on where we still need strengthening.

Very early days, we still need extra bodies through the door and certainly a couple of midfielders and another centre half with experience. However let’s not start predicting relegation again, even by previous seasons “we’re doomed” it’s early.

Which, let’s be honest would be a great piece of business for them. The smart money will probably be on Hearts though if the paper talk is true.

Interesting, I always though he moved a little too soon and needed another season to develop. Would love him back with us but that’s not going to happen.

It’s the risk of further injuries that’s the problem and given that the right move for the club.

Last seasons away at half price a far better option, this one will be forgotten very quickly.

If it’s 20k it’s an absolute steal. The last couple of signings really do show a change in policy, better players and a smaller squad, hopefully another 3 or so come in that also raise everyones spirits. It’s taken a while but we’ll worth the wait, big up to those involved in the deal.

No idea, he played 45 minutes I believe, I would agree that with the problems he’s had there has to be doubts.

Gorrin was written off pretty quickly by a few for sure which was crazy, you could see the guy had talent. To be fair he was over physical at times and his record down south is no better.

There is a bigger gap between the teams in the SPL to anything in league one or two so it’s not a blanket comparison. In the SPL we have two Championship level teams and the others are anything from midtable league one to the top of league two. The average Motherwell team is no higher than league one.

Yes still a lot to do. Up front it looks ok on paper now but we will only know when the serious stuff kicks off. I was quite excited by the signing of Seedorf.
