  1. Well we need players back because we’re really going to be struggling to put out an even half decent first team at this rate, we’ve had some amount of injuries this season. Regarding Gallagher I think he’s simply doing what most people would, this is his one and only chance to move up the footballing ladder, two or three years down the line he’s past his best with no guarantee he will still be playing for Scotland. I don’t believe he’s unhappy at the club and if nothing pans out he could well sign another long contract and see his best years out with us but as it stands he’s simply leaving his options open. You look at Aldred and Hartley and maybe think I’m at their level or above so why not me.
  2. And that’s the problem when we step off the gas. Our best performances have always been when everyone has been up for the fight, that’s often been missing this season. I know Campbell gets a bit of a free ride next to the likes of Polworth but he’s been just as guilty as anyone at times.
  3. It’s worth remembering we have won three games under Alexander. Today was very poor but we have clearly shown we are more than able to pick up points. We can’t have the players thinking they can’t win games, that WILL have us relegated. At least it’s given Alexander a chance to see what happens when this group of players step off the gas, we’ve seen it before, it’s not the ability at times it’s the attitude.
  4. The signings in the window are a strange one, maybe unlucky with Lawless but two or three have hardly had a mention. I was hoping for the whole spine to be strengthened with a bit more quality out wide but we’ve ended up with nothing.
  5. Yodo will be starting the Alexander out thread by 6pm.
  6. Today has just been dreadful, difficult to know which area of the team has been worse.
  7. Normal service against Accies who look way more up for it, we are very, very shaky. Accies should be asking themselves why they are bottom after last weeks performance and this so far.
  8. I have to be honest, outside of the fir park area I have no idea of the layout of the town. Would it pose problems for those attending, how far out is it. The new stadium in York is fine as a stadium but it’s moved 3 miles or so out of the city centre, parking is going to be something like a fiver, and you can’t walk to it if you live in the city, real worries long term that it’s going to effect attendances.
  9. Personally I don’t see either as long term options but happy to see improvements. Players are certainly written off too early at times, McGinn being another of the latest but even in my time Donnelly and Gorrin are another two that spring to mind. I think Lamie may be just below Premiership level and does have his moments simply because he’s probably batting above his weight, a good championship level player. Mugabi I’ve never been a huge fan of, a mistake waiting to happen most games but he’s improved no end, just don’t think he’s going to end up keeping his place but hope to be proven wrong because he’s strong and quick at times. For me though if Gallagher goes we need two new centre halves for next season with Mugabi as a back up.
  10. Think I do remember that, I only mention the New York stadium because it’s around 12000 capacity, steep sided stands and looks great. But maybe above what we could afford.
  11. To be fair he’s keeping a winning team which is fair enough, I also wonder if he may start to drift from a first 11 start. When Donnelly returns that’s more competition.
  12. If and when it happens something like the Rotherham stadium would be nice, the right size with a good atmosphere, I suspect thought it would be closer to the St Mirren stadium.
  13. 50% of success in football is confidence. We started the season dominating possession but could not put the ball in the net. The confidence slowly slipped away and decent players started looking poor. The main part of this squad finished third last season, they did not suddenly become one of the worst group of players in the last 50 years and they have proven that in the last half dozen games. A decent keeper and Carroll back has made a difference, the return of Donnelly will be another boost.
  14. I do get the very fair points regarding the cost to stay, both ongoing and developmental, but I really like Fir Park, moving out of the area would never be the same.
  15. Looking forward to seeing the work completed, it should make quite a difference.
  16. If that had been a Celtic or Rangers player there would have been uproar
  17. Certainly interesting, could just have easily been our manager for this game. Is he past his management best ? we will see.
  18. Well done Hamilton, that’s how you take on the old firm.
  19. To be fair though I think at this stage it’s probably too early to call him a Jordan White clone. The new guys are going to take awhile to get up to speed and need the minutes.
  20. Ok we lost but not a humiliation and confidence should remain high. No reason we can’t pick up points in the next few games.
  21. Yep, I would say absolutely Zero chance of a clean sheet, can we keep it down to 3 ? They are not at their best but a centre half pairing of Mugabi and Lamie is pretty frightening in truth.
  22. Lot of players going to leave this summer, maybe not a bad thing as it gives the manager a chance to build his own team.
  23. Normally a game I would just write off but they really are a poor team so you just never know.
