I would say the gap is way bigger, they dwarf us financially. Before my time but looking back the club has had periods where it’s certainly purchased players of a higher standard that they seem able to do now.

Yes, it’s easy to blame individuals for the result but for me it comes down to the performance of the whole team. One area failing puts extra pressure on another and when you’re playing a team of technically better players these mistakes get punished in a way they would not against an inferior team. Celtic really put away just about every chance they got, only Rangers can match that.

Great news given he’s getting better and better. We would struggle to find anyone else of his level without paying good money in my view, just hope he keeps his head in the game.

No stand out for me

To be fair the gap between Liverpool and Leicester, and the old Aberdeen and Celtic/Rangers teams were far smaller. We can’t even afford a decent Premiership player. We’re at the level of a decent league two team down south income wise.

I just don’t think we raise our game against the old firm the way other clubs do, Accies and Livingstone two examples. We will never have players of the same standard, that’s just a given, they have more than one player that cost more than our entire squad. I just wish we didn’t ’ go into our shell and gave it a go at times. We looked terrified first half and again dispite what Lennon stated they are not that good, Rangers will win the league this season.

Nothing’s really changed, our season as always is defined by who we beat outside the old firm. For some reason or other we just don’t perform against Celtic or Rangers, been like that in my time supporting the club under various managers. We were very poor today and gave up before we really even started. However we’ve been on a good run so let’s see how we go next game.

We’ve actually come out the second half showing a bit more positivity and it’s very easy to see just how average this Celtic team is when pressed.

It’s pointless singling any individual player out here it’s all about the team. I’m pretty sure come full time when we’ve lost by how many it ends up that Robinson will point out the lack of pressing, closing down, energy, just the defeatist attitude. We’ve looked absolutely frightened to death from the kick off, no one in the team looks to have any belief. It really is depressing stuff against a Celtic team that’s really very average.

Absolutely, this has not been about one player and rather the mindset of the whole team. We’ve been waving the white flag since kick off. Celtic won’t have an easier game this season. We’re literally sitting back and look frightened to death, a training game.

We really are just gifting them games, this is as soft as it gets I’m afraid.

I tend to just accept in advance that we will lose to both the old firm teams, helps with any disappointment. They rarely let me down.

Horror start points wise for sure, performances though no. We missed chances but other than that we were never that bad.

The huge positive is we are now at the point we will never have another Robbo out post after a poor run of form.
