  1. I think Robinson does to, he made him captain. I would agree that he’s had far too much stick in the past, even when he’s performed well at centre half. Honestly I would like to see him stay as part of the squad, he’s a very dependable player coming off the bench when the tempo has dropped. However it’s only when he starts in place of someone like Gorrin that you see he’s just not up to the same level, his pace, mobility, and at times passing ability are not quite at the level needed to push the team forward. It feels at times like someone has pulled on the handbrake.
  2. Without Gorrin we look very average in midfield, not a lot of other options just now in truth. Hopefully the guy coming in from Inverness can fill the gap as it looks like Gorrin could be away.
  3. I think the substitutions on the whole yesterday were poor, I don’t believe Ariyibi was injured and as you say although not at his best he was still causing them problems. Taking Turnbull off was just baffling, I would love to hear the reason for that move. On top of that he had everyone out of position. Certainly not Robinson’s finest hour.
  4. What baffles me is that Accies were odds on to get a result at Dundee so they needed a win yesterday. They showed absolutely no ambition for the majority of the game.
  5. I would still send Scott out on loan the start of next season, he shows promise but he’s not quite ready yet.
  6. No one stood out for me today, average at best with even Turnbull having an off day.
  7. Physical presence yes, he had at least two hacks that he was lucky to get away with after getting caught out in the first half.
  8. I can understand that and I have been quite an advocate of McHugh in the past but I just found him so slow at times. Maybe it’s because i’m a big Gorrin fan and that has swayed my judgement on the day.
  9. Pretty disappointing in truth. I honestly though with a big away support behind them St Mirren would go for it but far from it they just sat back and we dominated possession without really being that effective. I would be very dissapointed if I was a St Mirren fan. Pretty sloppy overall with no one really standing out, I though we really missed Gorrin, it’s only when he does not play that you see what a difference he makes, McHugh a very poor replacement in my view. I thought Dunn was back to his shaky self and was very lucky at times that the ref saw things in his favour, more than a couple of very rash tackles that could have ended up costing us. The ref was poor but I actually thought he gave a few things in our favour.
  10. Absolutely, quite surprised to see Robinson more or less stating the game did not hold any great importance in the ore match interview.
  11. Difficult game, they will be well up for it, will have a big away support, and are in decent form. I thought they were awful last time we played them at home and they still beat us, both teams are now much improved. I can actually see a St Mirren win simply because they will be desperate for the three points.
  12. Rangers could not afford him
  13. He can’t be any worse than Anthony Straker
  14. Give him another season and I think he will have clubs down south fighting to sign him. There is no way he should be going for any less than a club record.
  15. Would they be offering anything to Tanner at this point ?
  16. Cadden is very much improved on his early season form for sure.
  17. Dare I say McHugh again showing he would be worth keeping.
  18. Turnbull is already too good for Scottish football, i’m just counting down the days until he is whisked away. At least Celtic and Rangers can’t afford him and he will be off to the Premiership.
  19. Gorrin has always been that way since breaking in to the first team, nothing new today i’m afraid, it’s his biggest weakness.
  20. Never said he was not good enough just not ready in my view. I think the model we have of sending young players out on loan to other clubs is shown to be working
  21. To a degree i’m In two minds regarding player selection today. I don’t think Scott is ready and needs to have a season at Championship level and given that Main should play. I can also see the arguement for giving him game time but I would like to see is finishing as high as possible and I think for that we need Main. So for me a balancing act but I still tend to lean towards as strong a team as possible, the club should not be throwing away the chance of another 120k.
  22. Obviously when a club loses a player there is often a talking down of his ability and yes that is happening to Hastie to a degree. It is however pretty obvious at this point in his development that he tends to cut inside on just about every occasion when given the chance and if he can’t do that he’s a heck of a lot less effective as we have all seen. The last two or three games he’s actually being pretty poor showing only small flashes and has being rightly subbed, whether that’s down to the potential move or clubs knowing how to nullify him is open to debate. That was actually pointed out well before it looked like he would probably be signing for Rangers. He has potential, but at this point how much he develops is still open to debate for me. Rangers supporters certainly won’t tolerate poor performances and will turn on him pretty quickly.
  23. I don’t see room for both of them simply because they are both first team standard.
