Watched Maguire at the Thistle game Saturday. He looks like another to follow shortly. Within 12 months we could be looking at 7 of the 10 outfield players having come through the ranks.
-
Best news this season, he will only get better and when he does move and if the timing is right the club should make a fortune.

2018/19 Game 24: Livingston (H) Saturday 2nd February

Really, I don’t think this is a team we should be exactly fearing. When you are starting with two players in Erskine and Lawless who struggled to get a start with Thistle and are well past their best I would say they are very beatable. They had a great start to the season but are slipping back now. Lost their last four and not won in the last six. -

Some of these posts just baffle me. We have one of the lowest budgets in the league so where do we need to finish in the league for a manager not to get sacked ? I get the football is poor but he’s stated he’s trying to change it. Individuals stated they wanted the young players in, he’s sent them out to get game time and that’s now happening, Maguire will be next. We are never going to be able to bring in the same quality of players that just about half the teams in this league can, we have to bring in lower league players who are a risk along with our youngsters. Have we gone backwards from last season ? After 23 games last season we were 6th but with only one point more so hardly. We are safe and could even finish higher yet people still want him out in the hope we are going to find someone else who will have us playing silky football on peanut money. -

It’s rather like that statement that’s often made when things are going badly “ the manager has lost the dressing room” in fact I think it’s been said on here not that long ago. It’s a statement made that can’t be backed up unless you work with the individual on a daily basis. -

I think that’s us as good as safe now, I don’t see any of the bottom three winning another 5 games this season so short of us totally collapsing which we won’t its time to be looking up not down. -

I’ve said it before and will again, if the remit is avoiding relegation he has met it. Robinson will be here again next season. -

Hopefully you can persuade your sons to start attending. We never had kids but I think if we had going to the football together would have been something very enjoyable. -

Ok I know i’m getting ahead of myself here but Livinstone have Rangers Sunday, tough game. If we win today we could go into the game against them next week knowing a win would put us level on points. There was a big gap not that long ago.. I know, four wins in a row, impossible. -
Probably unlikely in truth although I agree that Scott needs to be the next one sent out to get game time. McCormack looks well away from being the guy we need up front just now. The other three are all struggling in front of goal as we know. I like Main but i’m beginning to think he needs to move on.

Depends who is available I guess and if we feel we are already safe.

Well they will certainly have received a lift on Wednesday which is never good, Hearts though were awful. Hopefully an unchanged team and can we please follow up one good performance with another one, don’t think it has happened even one time this season. 1-1 -
That would be good news

The weather not a consideration ? St Johnstone had 1900

He’s made it pretty clear he’s going to change the style of play and just as clearly that it’s going to take time. Last night was a clear change and he showed some balls dropping the players that needed dropping. We still need a target man up top because sadly it’s just not working out for Main or Johnstone but other than that there were lots of signs of where we could be heading. Good to see Gorin getting more game time, i’ve always though that he had something about him and last night showed he could have a future with us if he’s given a chance.
-
And last nights result is why, he always pulls it out of the bag when needed. We won’t finish in the play offs, not even close in my view.

I think McHugh is a better centre half than both Hartley and Dunn personally. I would play him alongside Aldred. I’m not really sure what Dunn offers other than pace, he certainly can’t pass a ball and is all over the place at times. -

If we can get a draw then win away at Dundee happy days. That would be my aim. -
Summer is the time to appoint a new manager. Better availability of candidates/players and as full a playing budget as you are going to get. If a new manager can’t see whats needed and replace he’s the wrong appointment. Any half on it board will already be sounding out a replacement behind the scenes if they know what they are intending doing.

Problem is what does he do until he gets one and they then have time to train with the team ?
