Hopefully he doesn’t need to move any further than the Valley.

Wee Allan has just signed for Charlton in loan. I’m proper chuffed. He’s going to boss league 1 https://www.charltonafc.com/news/allan-campbell-red

I coached u13s last season and my boys move the ball much better than Motherwell did today

In the immortal words of Connor McLeod of the clan McLeod “there can be only one” and that one is Tom Boyd. absolutely detest the man. Fraser Wishart because he was pushing for a move to a “bigger club” and ended up at St Mirren? Those were pre Bosman times and players were commodities. Without checking Google, didn’t he go on to a prominent PFA role? Out of curiosity, what has Paul Kinnaird done to boil your piss?

Others old enough to remember may indeed have better recall than me but if I recall correctly, Provan Sports took on the Well Shop when first built as part of the Cooper Stand project (1995?) and have been there since. They had secured the contract off the back of how their relationship with St Mirren. For a long time they ran both club shops. No clue whether they have the St Mirren contract nowadays.

It’s been a grim football week so to lighten things, G’on then Wee Yin (and anyone else for that matter), which ones are in your top 5 or 10 all time worst? I love how football shirts and opinions around them can be so polarised and emotive. For example, I could never understand all the hate for the 22/23 hatred, I loved it. This new one is going to have to do a lot of growing before I can be tempted to say it’s anything other than god awful.

Just watched it on Motherwell tv but with Aberdeen commentary. Aberdeens goal did not look offside. Our goal didn’t look a foul and Rob McLean is a bell end.

As a Well fan in exile, I am now a season ticket holder at Charlton. Soare started last season at the Valley and was welcomed by a similar response. There’s no doubt the bloke has a great pedigree. The problem is that he has never truly recovered from the car smash in 2016 that nearly crippled him. https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2017/sep/18/pape-souare-crystal-palace-car-crash-interview Come January, he was let go and his squad role was taken by Matt Penney. I really want it to work out for him at Motherwell.

Now that is the first thing you’ve said in a while that I can agree with. You do still need to chill a bit though man. No point getting so vexed about sh1t that’s outside of your span of control. Same goes for all those who are seemingly unhappy with the new away kit. Buy it. Don’t buy it. That is our (fans) span of control. Leave all the hating to those muppets who don’t have the intelligence to see beyond a bigoted herd mentality. We all chose Motherwell because we are better than that !!!
-
As it goes, I am not a fan of the new away shirt. The home one is lovely but the sublimated Amber and white sash/diagonal band and claret collar on this one just feels a bit cheap like a Turkish holiday knock off cheap.

I don’t really visit this forum very often anymore and only been back on in recent weeks. I must say, you do come across as rather over opinionated and my visualisation is of an angry wee man with a big red face. Take a chill pill pal.

I coach youth football at a club who has Macron from the first team right through to U7s and even their training gear is really unforgiving. For all shirts, I’m an Adidas and Nike size M and an XL in Macron. The only the trouble is that unless I tuck the shirt in, all I need is a night cap and I’m wee Willy winky 😜
-
See, it’s all about taste. I’m not a fan of your favourite recent kit (the 17/18 ”Kipre”) but I really really like this seasons kit and the one before it. The only thing I don’t like about this years is the slim and unflattering fit on a middle age man with bit of middle aged podge. Sadly, this is a recurring Macron issue. I don’t subscribe to the “it must be a whole hoop” or “white shorts are our history” arguments. My fan history (from early/mid 80s) is of some really good experimentation (with the obvious exception of the Jester of course). With our colours being unique to us, that is how it should be.

You might be on to something here. My 11 year old has been convinced since Hammell walked that Kettlewell would become the new manager because he has WELL in his surname
-
Christ. This thread is feeling very much like the one in the summer. Fickle are the mob.
-
Then Hammell is more of a fool than thought he was
-
Kettlewell strikes me as a very sensible chap who perhaps is tainted by a difficult spell in a difficult job. His next role is critical to his career longevity and it may suit him to not be “formally interviewed” for the role. Becoming the no2 and groomed successor to someone like McCann, who has lots of experience at both League 1 and Championship level, would be very credible. If we stay up, the experienced no1 stays on long enough to raise his profile enough to launch on to a better gig elsewhere and Kettlewell steps up. If we go down, Kettlewell steps up to lead the campaign to escape the Championship. Either way, he is afforded the protection and tutorage that Hamill never received
-
Sorry, I reckon I’ve missed it. How do we know that Ross is out of the running? Has he stepped away or has he been discounted? McCann would be a decent appointment. He’s got a fairly decent record at Doncaster, kept a poor Hull side in the Championship with no budget and it’s only been a disappointing second spell at Peterborough that’s having him anywhere near a Motherwell shortlist.
-
The club need to be brave with this appointment and be prepared to spend some wedge on someone (even if til the end of the season) who has some form of pedigree. Lots of talk of wanting a hard bastard leader who can command respect and kick some arse. I just don’t see us being able to find that in Scotland. When considering this brief, Lambert is the best of the names I’ve seen mentioned. It is worth noting that he completely lost the dressing room and the plot in general at Ipswich. Ross has only really seen success at St Mirren. He had a large budget at Sunderland and had to settle for play offs as his best chance of getting out of League 1. He failed, largely because he was outsmarted and outfought by his opponent and his squad that Wembley final day. His opponent that day was Lee Bowyer. Bowyer has pedigree as a player and has a proven ability to get a lot out of not very much. He is currently out of work and would be a coup akin to the first Mark McGhee appointment back in the day. He doesn’t need the money but he’s the sort of bloke that could be sold a challenge
-
Can’t say I’m inspired by that. It makes sense in that Fleetwood are looking to clear out having made 2 big signings today.
-
Just playing devils advocate to all the big fat NO’s to come …. Are the people who are saying no saying no for football reasons? Tony Watt is most certainly a divisive character and not the sort of fella I’d want to go for a pint with. However, if his presence makes the difference between staying up and going down (and he has the ability to make that difference) then surely it has to be a bit fat YES regardless of how much of a baw bag he is?
-
He’d most likely be seen as an Efford replacement. The boy is rapid. He played most of last season as part of a front 2 looking for knock downs from a big CF but is at his best as a winger and driving at full backs.

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/birmingham-city-winger-on-motherwells-28836155 Surprised to see Leko linked with coming to The Well. This is a player with true ability. However, having seen him over 2 spells at Charlton (one in the championship where he ripped it up and one in league 1 where he was a passenger) his signing could be awesome but could equally be a total disaster. There’s a reason why he’s being touted in the EFL rumour rags for a trip to Scotland and he needs to reverse his career decline. Perhaps Fir Park could be the place to do it. If he does, we’ll have a player on our hands.
-
Nothing on any official club channels … hopefully they’re holding out for a multiple player announcement

Is your reference to the poor candidate list based upon knowledge of applicants and interviewees or the social media rumours?
