How have you reached that conclusion???? Pass backs like the one from Lucas have happened for years and will continue to, Samson was under no pressure and had options ... he fucked it. The pass to heneghan for the first was behind him and wide...it came with sirens!!! How was he to blame for the second??? -

Watching replays confirm it was never a penalty but most would give that on the night. I don't think the midfield are doing that bad? I've never indulged in the slagging of Samson but he's cost us two goals tonight. Granted, the conditions are difficult but each of those goals should never have been allowed to materialise by a professional goalkeeper at that level. -

Really sad. Still a young man. Love and respect to the family he leaves behind

He was a standout player and scored a good goal for the brum on Saturday.

It's all speculation but I'm guessing that nobody had anticipated Marvin leaving so very late in the day as much still seemed to be up in the air and not agreed. Equally, I'm sure there was a clear list of Marv replacements lined up in priority order. Each of those and their agents would have working their options also and most likely would have been sorted by the time we knew Marv was away. An offer like Belic may have been what we were reduced to. It's an extremely low risk punt and his pedigree at least was attractive. I can't see how him not getting in the side will damage relationships with West Ham though? The loss of Pearson has been more telling than the loss of Marv. As we all know, if our front two get service, they'll score goals and a player like Pearo would make all the difference to our eventual fate this season. I wouldn't punt Lucas, simply because he'll be cheap already as he'll know that he'll be running out of chances. I know it may be fantasy stuff but a midfield of Pearson, McHugh, Lucas and Cadden would bring some real solidity and creativity with good cover in Lionel, Clay, Lasley, McLean and Thomas

http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38121225 He's not a former player yet, but Louis Laing was the hero yesterday in the fourth minute of extra time to give Notts County a replay. Approx 2:30 for his goal

Scottish Premiership Motherwell V Celtic Sat 3 Dec 12:15

I agree with much you say on here by with the greatest of respect, am I right to assume that you've never played the game at any decent level? As implied above, one of the primary objectives to good ball retention is to make the ball do the work, lure and tire the opposition and exploit the gaps left by those chasing the ball. Rangers did it throughout the Souness era and Pep Guardiola has made a career out of it. To challenge this, Motherwell adopted a high pressing game (Like the current spurs side do every week). Against a possession side, it can pay dividends. Our second goal is a perfect example of that. But anyone who's tried to play that way will tell you, it's really tiring and incredibly difficult to do for 90 minutes. The Chelsea v Man City game is a good example of the point I'm making. City had lots of possession and missed chances, Chelsea harassed them throughout and scored their chances. The difference isn't physical fitness, its tactics and ability and Celtic had far more ability in the tank. We lost the game because we lost the midfield battle. -

I have to be honest, I just cannot agree with all of the negative posts and allegations of capitulation and surrender. I know it hurts and people are gutted, but a wee bit of objectivity goes a long way. That is a very limited Motherwell side but I thought they made an excellent account of themselves. Indeed, we've gained 2 new fans after today. I watched the game with a fellow exile Well fan, a gillingham fan and a Crystal Palace fan and the two neutrals were both massively impressed with Louise and Cadds in particular and with the manner in which our team went about the first half. Our half time discussion was all about how the first fifteen after the break were crucial and how we'd be put to the sword by a Celtic team who inevitably would have much more in the tank than a high pressing Motherwell. We even optimistically discussed how Motherwell may be able to score more on the counter. I don't think we were terribly far from the truth and to say that the team sat back or capitulated is at best the emotion talking or just simply claret and amber tinted total bollocks. The reality is that Celtic upped their game, we tired, had poorer subs than them and in the end, we were overwhelmed. To make Ainsworth a scapegoat? To blame McGhee for substitutions when it was his tactics and obvious motivation of the team that got us our 2-0 lead? Really? Stevie Hammells age isn't why he was slack at the back, he's NEVER been as good at the back as he was going forward, he's always stood off too much. Heneghan made one mistake in failing to pick up a runner and it cost us, but don't forget, this is his first season at a higher level and he was up against some experienced and talented forwards with hours of international, europa and champions league experience. But yeah, lets hang him and all the others out to dry. Fuck me!!!! There were many more positives than negatives from today, yet everybody wants to be Alan Hansen on benzo's. For the two neutrals watching with us, they bloody loved the game for all of its guile and suspense. When we scored the third, they were jumping aboot my hoose like life long well fans. Yet, at the death, they just could not get their head around why the east stand was almost deserted and that the Motherwell fans did not stay on to applaud their team. My Well supporting mates poignant reply was "aye well, that's Motherwell fur ye, naebody does miserable better than us"- 160 replies

I could be an absolute mile oot on this, but I reckon the reason DT has never been loaned is because the respective managers and coaches believed he had the ability to break into the team and make his mark during the past couple of seasons. He hasn't made that impact and by all accounts is now failing to dominate as he should for the u20s. What we don't see is what happens during the other 5 days of the week and I would wager that that is where Dom Thomas' career is being lost.
-
No, you're not talking shite. Sadly the 'out and out strikers' available for Scotland are just not to the required standard at that level.
-
Agree with all else you say other than this paragraph.....unless of course you mean McGhees last spell as the season just gone? We had Cadds keeping Lionel out the team for much of last season and Hall had Laing and or Kennedy (granted less established) kicked to touch.

Have a butchers at this pick your own England and Scotland dream team. From the choices available, I managed to select 6 former well players and 3 former well managers. Not bad eh? http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37908133

I honestly don't know why anyone would want to ignore this gentleman/lady, he/she is becoming more and more enjoyable as each week passes. Ken M he/she is not (Google 'professional troll') but thoroughly entertaining none the less.

Its unfortunate you think so lowly of other site users. I guess the solution is to neither visit nor contribute to this site anymore. Personal attacks are unwarranted and does nothing for how others perceive you. Save yourself the hassle. I guess of course, with your strong business acumen and extensive marketing knowledge, customer/trader perception of you and your product is paramount? Isn't it? So I'm curious. Why, given your apparent (and admirable) conviction towards 'selling' your argument on how to best 'sell' this site and Motherwell football club to a wider audience, do you think it best to adopt a belittling and/or confrontational stance to those you seek to convince? Please feel free to attack or belittle me, but I spend (whilst we're on the topic of employment) most of my working life leading negotiations in board rooms and from experience, being pleasant opens more doors than it closes....even when the chips are down. Tell me where I'm going wrong. Please feel free to tell us just how you have made your fortune and in which industries. Eradicate any need to become frustrated. Help us understand.

As a late joiner and well devotee in exile, I bloody love this forum. Yeah, there's a lot of negativity on here but having grown up in the east stand (standing and sitting) Large sections of Motherwell fans have always been that way. I noticed more so after all seated. There are more trolls than just CMwellfan on here and we know who they are, yet (and I'm very guilty of it) we still respond to them. I see no reason why people would feel the need to troll as I guess I have enough in my life to entertain me without the need to infiltrate a largely friendly online community and purposely noise it up. I guess it says more about the troll than the community/forum. I know nothing about email marketing or have any particular view on how this forum should boost its usage. What I do know is that without it, I wouldn't be anywhere near as well informed about my beloved football team and to the moderators who facilitate it, I am grateful.

Some valid points with regards the dire state of the Scottish game but other than the mitigation of cost of entry and perhaps necessity of relocation, you can't ignore the inescapable fact that as individuals we make choices. Some choose to go, some choose not to. The club cannot be held ultimately accountable for that. And on topic of hating McGhee, he's not the first and won't be the last arrogant egotist to manage Motherwell FC
-
Wholeheartedly agreed, other than to say that Baraclough had more money to spend
-
Yes MJW, it's YOUR fault. It's YOU and YOUR apathy that's making the club lose decent punters. How dare you have hope
-
I bet I'm not the only one to see the irony in the last few posts. Fair do's to MJW and Wellarmy. Something else, I don't get your argument. You staying away is non apathetic and not detrimental to the club because.....?????? I am by no means a Mark McGhee lover but most definitely not a hater either. I can totally understand why some do really dislike the bloke but there has to be some acceptance of the reality of our situation. A club like ours will always have to make compromises on the types of player and coaching staff we select. In McGhees case, I believe the trade off is in our favour based upon his experience and proven record with our club. To all who call for his head, I would say be careful what you ask for. We've once again seen many changes to our squad and better paid managers such as Moyes, Mazzari and Mourinho are still struggling to find the correct system or starting 11. Yesterday saw only one of last seasons back 5 start the match and we had a brand new central midfield playing together for the first time. If McGhee sees the season out, he will see us safe. Given our financial situation, we're unlikely to attract any real managerial talent and have to accept that unless we really smash it with the youth academy or community engagement, then fan ownership will mean a life of mediocrity at best. I feel more comfortable having a guy like McGhee to maintain mediocrity over obscurity.

Indeed they have.... http://www.punditarena.com/gaa/akirwan/david-vs-goliath-oneills-vs-adidas/ I'm surprised this site has been allowed to continue trading. They're selling the same stuff you'd buy on holiday. My mate's bought the home and away England kits for his boy from them and you'd never know the difference when comparing. http://coolkits4u.com/

Do you like them?
