  1. on topic, it's very early doors. I expect there will be further movement in our squad. Unfortunately, the club won't be able to respend and incomes from player departures and I don't think an "inside knowledge" should be required to realise that.
  2. Nope, you're right...you the man. All hail the CMWellfan !!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hRH1tYD6bow
  3. Yep, and that's why I don't respond to any of your posts anymore.
  4. Why, where you moving to?
  5. I do get that for the younger demographic, the appeal of looking just like the first team is important but on a personal level, I'm loving the fact that we can get hold of those shirts without sponsors. None the less, I suspect the bairns will pick a favourite in time for our holidays. Can't say I'm terribly keen on the collars of either of them (is the home Velcro or button down?), but otherwise ok. Neither, in my view as nice as last years...and not feeling the love for the amber shorts. Looking forward to seeing the away strip next week.
  6. Oi UBH!!! You say that like you have some inside knowledge.....spill it !!!
  7. Not long got in to find out we have 3 new players. What was that shirt they were being paraded in??? I hope it's not the new away shirt as I can't say I like it very much.
  8. I'd buy that....but couldnae wear it lol
  9. Don't go saying shit like that, you'll get called bad names.
  10. You are and to be fair, I wasn't exclusively referring to your comment. Though to dismiss the actions of the club or those who run it with such inflammatory language and without any basis, is in my opinion, worthless. Agreed, it is frustrating. Agreed, we'd all like better. Cannot agree, without the facts, that it can be better.
  11. Wow ! That's quite an accolade...thanks very much
  12. I do wonder about the age and/or mental capacity of some folk using this forum. The truthful answer as to why we don't have one come June can only be given by those running the club. The rest is conjecture. Perhaps the other provincial clubs are willing to settle for less? Perhaps the club had a sponsor who pulled out? Perhaps negotiations have stalled because future sponsors wanted to see the fixture list before committing? Perhaps perhaps perhaps. Perhaps you should apply for the vacant general managers post and ensure that such ineptitude will NEVER happen again????
  13. Seriously, chill the fuck out !!! It's not a new thing that Motherwell have struggled to get shirt sponsors and most certainly to the ideal criteria. Unfortunately, it's not an ideal world and Barcelona already have UNICEF tied in. Whether you like it or not, Motherwell are an economically declining provincial club playing in an economically declining provincial league and to that end, the small margins are significant. For example, Flow has been taking a bit of a kicking on Twitter for moaning about the lack of home OF fixtures next season. Those lost gates will not only impact upon the clubs operating budget but of course access to TV coverage and and the wider exposure it brings. By consequence, our shirt space is less marketable and therefore further weakens the clubs negotiating position with potential sponsors and players. Still, look on the bright side, due to the early start to the season, there is greater pressure on the club to register their kit with the league etc meaning that we may, like in 2010, be able to get our hands on a sponsor free Motherwell strip. I still love my all white puma jagged collar shirt as worn in the Europa cup !!!
  14. It's not what? Happening ? On the bbc webpage ? Or uninspiring? Not meaning to be awkward, just not understanding what you mean to be saying, though I assume you meant that he won't be coming back? Personally, I have no issue if Erwin came back on loan, I think he'd do well in a front three and under McGhees and McDonalds tutorage. I can't see why folk are so against bringing in a loanee forward. It's hardly a new thing.
  15. I'm an exile Well fan and do much of my "following" on the Internet. I'm keen to learn more about Motherwell ladies, the squad, scores etc but can't really find a great deal. Can anyone point me in the right direction to a website that I can learn more about them ?
  16. What happened at the Scottish cup game?
  17. And you know this because.....? I would largely agree with your point but what you also need to realise is that whilst the "we play for money" argument is a compelling one, it doesn't mean that you have to jump the very first time you get extra doh waved under your beak. As you say, money is why we all go to work but I personally have turned down some (comparable to my present salary) very well paid jobs because they were not the right fit, be it for the work life balance, or narrowing of career options. For me, this discussion surrounding Ben Hall has nothing to do with rose tinted fan spectacles. It's about a young boy making a large career decision within a hugely competitive and densely populated job market. I remember Strachen when he was Celtic manager lamenting the sheer volume of young kids on mega wages at the bigger clubs who had never played for their first teams, were never likely to and yet monetarily, had never been so healthy. His point was that these lads careers were over before they knew it. Money can be a tremendous motivator but can be terribly short termist if the wrong decisions are made. If he's gone he's gone, no biggy really for Motherwell, I just hope the boy doesn't make the wrong decision.
  18. [quote name="mio" post="472253" timestamp="1465549018 As for Hall, if he wants to go that's fine, for a young player who has just broken into the first team I would have thought his priority would be to cement his place in the first team for at least a season. For him to be looking for a bigger club / move / money etc at this stage in his career is poor show!! I'd happily get shot. Especially if we get £100k for him. Big mick / laing / kennedy is fine by me. Agreed. I said some time ago that I had been unimpressed by his perceived rush and chatting himself up to be in the NI euro squad. Perhaps he may have been flippant but did so on more than one occasion. Modern football is littered with early promising young big time Charlie's who never made the cut. It would be a shame if he were one of them. Good luck to him in wherever he goes but the boy either needs to learn a bit of humility or to stop listening to the utter shite his 'advisors' are filling his head with.
  19. I've gotta give it to you man, I haven't enjoyed reading an individual persons posts so much as these little beauties you have been shimmering us with. This however has to be my personal favourite. You tickled me so much, I even spat my irn bru out. I keep having involuntary giggles to myself when I think of your "however on this forum you've all appointed yourselves union officials" ... and it's starting to piss the wife off LOL You my friend are solid gold....keep up the good work!!!
  20. The majority of the Plymouth key squad members that got them to the play offs were loan ins. They have a traditionally poor youth programme and seldom grow their own. Also, it wasn't terribly long ago that they almost went out of business following their collapse in the championship. This was their first decent season for some time! The club will undoubtedly want to push on to league 1 next season but Derek Adams will have a rebuilding job to do. He may well be given a bit of cash to spend but that will most likely be on wages. Effectively, they operate in the same market as we do and will never be able to afford 500k for any player. Perhaps there was an extra 0 added as a typo.
  21. If anyone needed evidence that this fella is a troll....... Surely nobody could be such a numpty without trying? To be fair to Ally, I don't think he's asking for a testimonial. This news is 24 years old and largely because he was never really given the opportunity to put his side of the story. I think if I were him, I would've felt very aggrieved too. His career was on the rise and despite having to see off some imposters like McKeown (who was utter garbage), he'd not only concreted his place in the first team, was a major player. I think it was more John Chapman et al being typically tight, failing to see what wee Tommy was building and in turn stifling our development. It will always stick in my craw that that era saw some spectacularly conservative fiscal management of the club which saw some top talent slip away (including the manager) to be followed by the arrival of big Eck and an open cheque book.
  22. Nah, I bet you're a fud for lots of other reasons too !!!!
  23. Totally agree!!! That picture was page 2 of the programme? Dare I say 'iconic'?
