Yep, you really do have to wonder. whilst you’re at it, why not try wondering about some of these...... There weren’t just four Beatles members The Beatles were a rotation of different, similar looking, people, one of whom was from Grimsby. The US didn’t invade Iraq because of Saddam or for oil but to get hold of a Mesopotamian star gate The US invaded Iraq to get ahold of an ancient Mesopotamian star gate . You might’ve seen the film Stargate? It’s based on a true story. The the Olson twins are just one person. That the Olson twins are just one person moving back et forth réally fast. North Korea is using Pokémon Go to spy on the U.S. and the western world I reckon you’ll really go for this one Steelboy!!! Pokemon Go is really a tool that N. Korea uses to get kids and eejits who should get a life to spy on the western world by taking pictures of top-secret locations.

I hadn’t read this thread for a couple of weeks so have had a fair bit of catching up to do. Fuck me, there’s some pish getting slavered. To hear that some were booing Hastie today is an absolute joke. He’s a 19 year old boy who would not have been prepared for and (by his own admission) never expected this level of attention. I would wager he’s not been media trained. I hope to christ he doesn’t go on this forum to read one of his own clubs fans twice calling the boy a cunt because of a speculative story in the most guttural of red tops. True to form, there are those blaming the club for having not signed our hot talent up by now. Many of whom are the same people who blamed the club for not putting youth first. Even when they do.....apparently it’s a shambles. Even for you YaBezzer, that’s a belter. I’d love to see your stats to substantiate the claim . It may be lost on some that this is a critical point in a footballers career. They are leaving the Academy age groups and looking to push on, find their level and stake their claim for a short but hopefully fruitful career. There are so many variables, why would anyone in that instance want to tie themselves to a long contract at the earliest instance? A fans perspective is factually obscured and tainted by tribal emotions. A wee bit of objectivity goes a hell of a long way.

They were claret in the same way that the badge on the home replica was black. I would wager they were done on the same press

By a very long way, my favourite Well shirt of all time

I was hunting for a pic for the retro shirt thread and came across this. I was in exile by this time ..... but who the funk is this orange skinned geezer !!??!!
-
I’ve been hunting google images for the white 86/87 away shirt and can’t find it. I did find this though. Wasn’t this the inside front cover of every match programme? This was the first season I started going regularly with my dad. I know I’m being a sad twat but my dad couldn’t afford to buy me that shirt or even a programme for every game so the memories associated to that picture alone are phenomenal. The excitement of a match day, the novelty of a programme and the magical feeling of falling in love with your football team.

2018/19 Game 27: Celtic (A) Sunday 24th February 3.00pm Kick Off
Gadgey replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
I really enjoyed watching Brendan moan last night about his perceived injustice over the Toljan sending off. Its amazing how his views on things have changed now that decisions aren’t going his way. That is karma!!!! -
I was there too, thought he was decent though didn’t get put under anywhere near enough pressure by the Charlton frontline. Do you go to the valley regularly Donaldo or just taking advantage of the football for a fiver?

Going into that 5 game run was reminiscent of the 14/15 season for me. We were playing a style of football that all other teams had sussed and there looked to be a morale issue. There were differences of course, we had a new manager and lots of new January arrivals. What we did have though was a critical run of games in February that gave a glimmer of hope that if we managed to get a couple of wins could see us nudge over the line to safety. As every week passed, that hope slipped further and further away. This year, the management and squad have made the most of that run and we are safe for another term. For that, they deserve nothing but applause. As much as I thoroughly enjoyed cuffing the h*n, going into those playoffs is not an experience I want repeating any time EVER.

To be fair, I think there’s quite a lot that’s beyond you Steelboy. Very short sighted way of thinking. I do wonder why some folk go to the football when it makes them so fuckin miserable

To quote supertramp (one for the old bastards amongst us) crisis? What crisis? It would be crime of the century if we were to be pulled into the mire. I’m happy for this to be famous last words but even in their quietest moments, the biggest doomsday merchants can’t think that we’re anything but free as a bird. See, I’m a dreamer but I get it that for some, pessimism is indelibly stamped and that some things never change. But as sure as Weeyin will be having his breakfast in America, willing progress as Well fan feels like everything is in slow motion. Some Things Never Change.

Straight from the green bottle lol. To be fair to Yodo, he/she has actually been fairly complimentary of the team lately. Of course, with the upcoming fixtures, I’m sure there will be opportunity for the full vitriol. I’m just content that it’s just turned February and we are as good as safe from a relegation battle.

Exactly the stuff I’ve been thinking but put in a far better way.

Yes, 4 crucial games at a crucial time. As you have often pointed out, he has had a generally poor win record, but more often than not, Robinson has an ability to get the team to perform when really needed. I think the timing of the shift of style is an interesting one. Was it out of necessity to survive or desperation for his job retention? Or, to play devils advocate, has it always been planned to be so? I mean, perhaps he’s chosen to change now because the likes of Turnbull and Hastie are now ready to come through and have a new style of play built around them? is it a coincidence that the change came just before a transfer window? I honestly don’t know and won’t ever likely know, but either way, I hope the new style takes on whichever way it’s come about.

Why does there need to be a but?

I remember saying on this thread during the summer that I suspected the reasoning behind the re-signing of the likes of Rose and Grimshaw and 1 year deals for the new signings was to make weight and mark time for the youth coming through. It just might be coming to fruition.

Theo Robinson loaned out to Swindon.

An awful lot of wishful thinking. Main is not good enough to get in the Luton team

You’ve nailed it. Taking the emotion out of the situation, this is a really well considered take on the difficult decision that the board will have to make. For a club with our limited level of spending capacity, the appointment of the manager is perhaps the riskiest decision of all and one that cannot be made on impulse or in any way reactionary without consideration being made to all factors. Nothing in life is guaranteed and there a number of external variables that could play out to our detriment between now and the end of the season. Like any decision when considering risk and consequence, there are patterns and trends that will enable justification for a decision though. Both St Mirren and Dundee have changed manager to little effect. As shite as it is, the likelihood of a sharp upward trend in our performances is unlikely if we changed manager. Our current trend with the current manager should be enough to see us through. For me, if he was to be sacked this season, then he should’ve been given his jotters in the Autumn. My heart says punt him and punt him now and my head says let him go to the end of the season and begin looking for his replacement now.

Scottish Cup 4th Round Motherwell v Ross County Sat 19th January (H)
Gadgey replied to Toxteth O'Grady's topic in Club Chat
Nothing like jumping to a preconceived conclusion lol -
Lots of reignited memories.

Yes, I’ve had mine a couple of years and it continues to look good with no flaws. the only problem is that it is a little on the slim side.......though it did fit me better when I bought it a couple of years ago. So maybe not the shirts fault.

I got the Adidas one on an eBay site a few years back. Perhaps the same trader. I will keep checking the site and will definitely buy an Umbro one https://aztecretro.com/search?q=Motherwell+
