  1. Quite happy to start it again
  2. I don't disagree with it........I will continue membership of the Well Society irrespective. However, don't close out the fans that have their doubts about the Well Society. Those same fans as commented above would consider funding free tickets for the kids.
  3. The club has two options - find a sponsor prepared to fund the "free season for kids offer," - or announce the figure required to the fans and run a "GoFundMe," type campaign to pay for it. I reckon some fans that are not keen on the Well Society would swing behind this, as well as many society members.
  4. I'm prepared to bet that each and every one of us started following Motherwell in childhood. At a point when we had zero cash and a ton of enthusiasm. My big cousin took me to more games than my Dad, then I got to the point I could go myself, by then I would go with my sister mainly. We'll all have a similar story. The fault in the previous freebie scheme was that it relied on schools, youth clubs etc organizing the trip. There's only so much that a willing volunteer will do. So then you have a situation where you only get one bite at the cherry with loads of these kids - not enough. While there is great value in the family tickets, they miss out on one thing - that's the sense of ownership that kids love. "That's your season ticket." Not your Mum's or Dad's - yours. You get to twelve/thirteen years old ( for example ) and jump on the bus to go watch the game without relying on Mum or Dad going with you. How many of us remember doing that? And the enthusiasm of the group - you'd get to the game and know where your pals/pals from school would be standing. Did we not all do that? And the group again - I think I already mentioned the idea of giving ten free child season tickets to every member of our boys and girls development teams. You never have more pals in your life than when you are at school - we have that resource of so many youngsters that are connected to Motherwell to hand right now and we should be using it. It's not rocket science - it's vast untapped resource on our doorstep. The same goes for our junior Well Society members - I think we have five hundred plus, and juvenile season ticket holders - give them all free season tickets to distribute to their pals. I know I keep saying ten each - work out the numbers, if it's five each then so be it. ......................................................................... NOT ANOTHER BUSINESS ON THE PLANET WOULD MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE FANS FOR LIFE. NOT ONE. .......................................................................... And this is a prime example of where football has failed to rise to the challenge set by the vast choice of entertainment now available to youngsters. MFC should be leading the way in this -
  5. Agree - at this rate of travel we'll have a core support of under 3,000 by 2020. I want the club to be bold - make it free for the kids, and not a one off - for five years minimum. We need to get new fans through the door - urgent. They could start by giving ten free season tickets each to our boys, girls, and youth team players so that they can bring loads of pals with them to first team games.
  6. Excellent. I have never understood why businesses think kids aged 15/16/17 suddenly have money.
  7. I was under the impression they were paying £70 - £80 quid? If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. If we have 500 season ticket holders of that age that would represent £35 - £40,000. I'm not sure if VAT is paid on season tickets? I imagine it would be. So that would represent an income of around £28 - £32,000. Not a lot of money. The club will know the stats. It's well known in marketing that making things free brings greater profit. You are surrounded by the word free everywhere. Like most here I can remember paying a pound or two to get into games when I was a kid. I can also remember going to matches and my pals were dying to come but didn't have any money. The club should be hammering a "make it free," campaign and let it run for five years so they can test the growth in attendance. Five years gives enough time for many juveniles to move into adult pricing. Give it long enough to succeed.
  8. I don't think any/many supporters would object to under-18's getting in free. It wasn't a total disaster last time, some youngsters did get in the habit of attending - I note a member here saying his first ever match was a school freebie. ( apologies, can't remember who it was ). What I'm proposing is to make it free on a five year trial - with the season tickets in the youngsters names. We will get spin off from match day and merchandise sales - but the real goal is to convert them into contributing adults. The stadium lies half empty or more for the vast majority of games - it's a foolish waste of capacity.
  9. He could start by issuing three thousand free season tickets to under 18's and leave that deal on for five years. Good long term investment. Easy enough for the club to tweak the details. I reckon if the club looked at how much revenue they take from kids after VAT it's not that much - and what a marketing tool.
  10. Posting that at 4 in the morning you should consider getting a life ya halfwit. There's your post right there: http://www.steelmenonline.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=15241&page=131#entry476979 By your own hand confirming you went out and grilled three of your mates as to how much they earn. What a fucking saddo you are.
  11. It was you that posted your had spoken to THREE taxi driver pals and came up with the grand a week figure. Nothing to do with me, boss. Self inflicted wound and all that.
  12. How about promoting a development player?
  13. Comedy genius is thinking that anyone is on £120,000 a year at Fir Park Just being nosey - I posted that I know a certain first team member is on £450 a week. Yabba's Turd went out and grilled three of his taxi pals ( good grief ) then announced they were on £1000 a week. Where does the £120,000 figure come into it? did you fail arithmetic at school?
  14. Does it not have an affect on the money he's due from a transfer? I was under the impression that if a player requested a transfer and it was granted he lost the right to any portion of any fee the club would get. So by asking for a transfer he's making it easier for the club to accept a lower bid - and he'll make up for the lost lump sum by a hefty wage increase.
  15. Taxi driver arrived at work and was shocked to hear that he was being forced to take a wage drop to the same level as Keith Lasley. As a result, he spent all day arriving late and putting the boot into passengers.
  16. And make myself skint? I'll leave the stupidity to you, wee man.
  17. Yes I am a member - and yes, I can ask. I just get the impression that a bit of leadership, a target to aim at, would be a good thing.
  18. We seem to be all over the place - the figures I've picked up on, and may well be wrong, are: That the board suggested a reserve of £1.5 million? We owe John Boyle £350,000? We owe Les Hutchison around £700,000? The Well Society subs are bringing in just over £100,000 a year? Meanwhile it's suggested that the club is ring-fencing money from fees to re-pay Les Hutchison in particular? although that may be speculation. And there lies the problem - a lack of clarity. It's as clear as mud. How much do we have in hand? how much do we need to raise? two simple questions.
  19. Hilarious - next time bring your full wit instead of just the half.
  20. The update was a load of flannel - told you ZERO of substance. Did they mention anywhere how much cash in hand we have, for example? Or is that a secret too.

  22. I forgot to mention I'm away again for three months in December. I will catch the Celtic game, though.
  23. That's right - that will be nice of you too. I'll be back in December, I'll just need to rely upon the highlights until then.
