  1. He was provided training facilities a few months back when he became a free agent, so couldn't have been up to much or im sure he would have been forgiven for previous misdemeanors. Be interesting to see how Lawless does with thistle. He is in final year of contract, and while we dont do transfer fees, we could try do swap deal if he looks the part. The interest in him from holland seems to have cooled.
  2. The goalkeeping situation has got Stevie Woods vs. Scott Howie written all over it...Howie turned out to be the number 1 in the long run, but had to wait til Woods made enough mistakes. Long run here I think Gunnar is the No.1 but may have to bide his time.
  3. Stuart McCall stuck around as he has unfinished business with Motherwell; to win a cup and make group stages in Europe. He has already said he will sacrafice the early league games if it means we go further in Europe, so thats the managers priorities!
  4. Thought that was against UEFA rules? Have clubs not supposed to have address details of attendees?
  5. Kerkar that Rangers took was that guy. Maybe it was an English team (Stockport?) that Casagolda played for in a friendly, scored 2 and created the hype.
  6. Wasnt at the game, so have to accept ur view, but did Casagolda not show up well in 1 friendly?
  7. Certain that Sutton is one
  8. Coventry release Jennings...grass is always greener!!! Higdon Mcfadden Hateley take note
  9. In hindsight, lawless would be a shoe-in right now!
  10. Was thinking the same, and thought crissed my mind about the lad Finnbogason who the Breidablik fans built up as something special....too late, they weren't wrong http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfre%C3%B0_Finnbogason
  11. Glad that there has been no progression of the paddy mccourt rumour into an actual signing. Heard a rumour he washed at Christmas, but definitely a lie...that guy hasnt seen a bar of soap in years.
  12. Worst left back? Franz Resch? Jered Stirling? Shaun McSkimming? 5foot2 David Murphy?
  13. If a player is offered an uplift in salary and security of an extra year, surely they have to consider...all too easy to pick up a career hampering injury. Plus point as well for the player could be that any suitors during contract term are going to be bigger & better teams who can pay transfer fees.

    Mccall

Scottish manager at Rotherham, Evans, done well to win promotion, but are his team going to he competitive in the next league? Motherwell could be a good platform to a bigger move in time if he does well. In middle of a 3yr deal though, so would have to pay to get him.
  15. Was pissing myself so much at the thought of him I mistakenly posted twice! Sorry
  16. We done the same with Kevin Christie, Paul Quinn, Brian McLean and Saunders. Only benefit I see is his height!
  17. Is kerr any worse than Brian McLean and/or Kevin Christie who strutted their stuff at right back for us?
  18. Just feel like a wee ramble, here goes The killie & samson story sounds like an agent trying to increase competition and maximise the earning potential for his client. A few years ago we had interest in Dargo and made an offer, but allowed st mirren to offer more; same approach required here. Set a value and time limit, be prepared to move on. On our own out of contract players, I hope the club apply the same rule. I think 2 years for Higdon with an uplift in salary would be a reasonable offer; he had a tremendous season in his 'contract year' but I think it will be difficult to repeat, particularly in the second year of a new deal (age / injuries). I wouldnt be offering a third year just to keep him. Plenty agents will be shopping their players to us knowing we have a tight squad, so great chance to guarantee games, europe on cv, and improve future earning potential for their next contract term. This is win-win for player & club; the new jennings, randolph & law. Just have to pick carefully. Inverness built a complete new team last season with almost as many players as Harry Kampman brought in one year, and they done not bad this year! My focus this offseason would be to work with Hutchinson, Ojaama and other assets, to try add years to their deals and maybe have some leverage another club wants to buy them. Looking ever the more likely that both Hutchinson and Ojaama will go for nothing next year or peanuts in either the summer or january transfer window.
  19. Heard Craig Gordon is on the lookout for a club, worth a punt?

    Ojamaa

Hope we are looking to get him on a longer term arrangement! Improved deal to match highest earners, extra year to take him to 2015 with a potential to cash in 2014 if he keeps doing the business.
  21. To add to all other streams of money mentioned, theres supposed to be a windfall from Uefa after Celtics champions league run. Great news that we are in the black and creating security for the future, but after a number of successful seasons (league placings, cup runs, europe)...begs the question, what would the outlook have been had we been finishing 10th with no europe and losing in all domestic cups in our first round matches past few seasons? Unless ive missed it, what investment are we making into a first class academy? The rate we are going with cuts, we are not going to attract any decent players from down south (model that has served us well past 4 yrs).
