Jennings; how would u feel if we made him available in January?

I think 60 points will be good enough for 3rd place, about 54-59 points for 4th and 5th; which are potentially both European slots. With 21 games to go, 7 wins and 7 draws could do it. We are due a run of home wins.

Simply put, Murphy needs to improve to get in the Scotland team, moreover earn a move. He is still a developmental talent. Not consistent, but learning and improving! If the measure of an SPL player's stature is performing consistently against the old firm, then he is showing up as average. I don't recall anything special he has done against the old firm. While you may say it is a team game and those around Murphy are failing to perform, classy players should always have some sort of impact! Individuals for the 'Well who have had big impact in old firm games include Arnott, McFadden and even Scott McDonald. Recently in the SPL you can look at Emerenko, Riordan, and Goodwillie who have all had individual success against the old firm. Maybe in the future we can expect more from Murphy in these games.

Nothing that hasn't already been said, but looks like cheap signings almost as concerning as Malpas's trio. Hope thelinks with Premiership clubs hasn't dried up as the Everton and Blackburn loans worked well for each club and player. This is not a go at McCall, but the financial constraints he is under if this is the best we can bring in...albeit a bride til end of season . Gella will no doubt offer fresh competition, and McCall obviously trusts that Jones can have an impact having previously worked with him. I think that while neither will be the most skillful players we hav had, they will add some attitude and aggression that is badly missing...as talented as some of our youths are I don't think any are tough enough to handle the battles we will face from teams desperate to avoid relegation. I thought with the sale of Reynolds and Cup progression the board could have allowed some extra funds to properly replace the guys that left. Maybe they are holding back til nxt season as all clubs would probably go for broke to ensure top flight survival.

Hammell can actually play a bit, but problem again is no player on the left to back him up or cover. Hately has been terrible in midfield with jennings and lasley, BUT gannon never play 2 of them together nevermind all 3!!

I also agree our midfield is the main issue as the trio of Hately, Lasley and Jennings are similar (defense minded, right sided, play breakers rather than creators, non-goal threats, SLOW). No wonder the back 4 are punting long balls so much! McLean had us a successful, balanced midfield; davies dolan lambert...Dolan done the job our 3 are doing! We need to stop filling positions with names and use the players for their respective roles if we are to get the best out this squad.

It's been said in the past by our own managers and fans that they discount results against the old firm, and to be honest having a full healthy squad hasn't made much of a difference in recent years anyway when we face either. I would look to use my squad as I think Lasley could use a rest, Sutton could do with more recovery time, Hately needs a good kick up the arse, and we are not selling Reynolds as a Central Defender so try him out at holding midfield. I would like to see what we can get out the game with this lineup for as long as possible..then if fails pull on the subs; Blackman, Murphy, Sutton, Lasley/Hately, .....................Randolph Saunders....Craigan...Hutchinson...Hammell ....................Reynolds.......................... Humphrey..Jennings....Forbes..Fitzpatrick ...................Casagolda........................

I'm totally dejected - we can't defend corners, we have no creativity in the middle of the park and we just don't convert chances. We play better teams 8 times a season, so this was a poor result in my opinion. Good effort, great response from the fans, hopefully we can get more chances to play in Europe as it is much more exciting than SPL.
