  1. I was only 11 when we signed him, but if memory serves me well, i'm pretty sure he got brought in as a midfielder and he got booed terribly for being awful! Was a fantastic servant when moved to CB, with no nonsense style of defending. Was he not handy with a pair of scissors?
  2. Wakey wakey, selling is our strategy!!! Not meaning to single this out, but while on subject, I can't believe how much folk greet about players who may move: its too soon / best stay another year / not to another Scottish club /surely worth 10 times that Life goes on
  3. If any the players are skint they know who to go to for a tap.
  4. Loan out for the youngsters, and look to move on McManus and Watt. Surely enough wages saved for the 2 or 3 targets
  5. Seen this one coming; skips preseason, nothing better on the table, probably expects to pick up a deal with us, would take about 10 games to get up to speed / back to full fitness. Not for me. Not saying we have better in the squad but as Robinson said about Dembele, we want players who are keen to be here. I'm sure McDonald stalled on the option last year and was late to preseason, for me it's time to draw a line. If I remember right Jennings done the preseason stall as well, and maybe Mcfadden too.
  6. I think you are missing my point, which is that as Motherwell fans many of us big-up our players, but the outside view can be different and in some cases give some balance / another perspective. The outside opinion I mentioned is a guy who goes to around 60 games a year because he loves football, and he sees lots of teams and players multiple times. If you don't want to credit that then fine, but no need to have a childish response. I haven't criticised Moult, I actually said I like the guy a lot. I'm not gushing over Moult or others though when the time comes and our better players feel it's time to take the next step.
  7. Took my uncle to the game against Killie and he said to me if Rangers pay Motherwell for Moult and Heneghan it would be robbery! While he is a celtic fan, he goes to a game every week, often Motherwell or Hibs, and he has never rated our 2 boys. Just saying. We think Moult is great, but as per my previous post he grabbed his chance with hard graft in a terrible team. I'm sure the club know what they are doing, so if he goes for an undisclosed fee or free, let's just trust the club know better than most of us and will make the best decision.
  8. Controversial view coming....Moult was brought in as backup to Fletcher. Yes, Fletcher. He grabbed his chance when Fletcher got injured and over-performed in a terrible team. I like the guy a lot, he has scored goals and has consistently been a top performer in his 2 years with us, but he isn't close to the talent of Marvin Johnson in my opinion, and if he can afford to turn down top wages at the club then fine, value him up and let him leave if it suits the club. If we can afford to make him top player then we clearly have a wedge to get a decent replacement for our level. Others have already outlined our model, and getting a return on Moult is a success. If Rangers, Aberdeen, Hibs etc want to bid it out, brilliant, I cried as a boy when O'Donnell went to celtic, but quickly learned that's football and it will happen again and again. C'est la vie.
  9. I much prefer the honesty we get from Alan Burrows as opposed to the lies and rumours from the media.
  10. Might just be me, but I've not spotted Jacob or Luke Watt with the squad
  11. I'm in for £20, just sent via PayPal Cheers

    Moult.

I don't see a big offer coming in for Moult (big enough anyway to replace him or contribute towards a decent league placing), and commercially it might be better to retain him and his goals. I can't see offers above English league 1. I think there will be an improved deal and he will take it.

    Lasley.

While he is reported to be a very fit guy, I think he would just rust up on the bench.
  15. I like to think I'm an optimist, but Clay is dreadful: limited range of passing, can't shoot, prances around without getting involved in the scrap. Not good enough for SPFL. If we want better than bottom 2 next season we need to move on quickly and replace Clay, Blyth, both Goalkeepers........etc.
  16. With managers like Richie Foran, Neil McCann, Ian Cathro, Lee McCulloch,Martin Canning cutting about the SPFL - I doubt Robinson is near the worst guy to be leading us! I have faith in the guy.
  17. Tommy McLean for guiding us to the Scottish Cup, tough management and leadership, bringing through O'Donnell, signing Cooper, and his tartan shawl!
  18. Perhaps he didn't take his chance with us (questionable attitude)
  19. To an extent I think Heneghan and some others have been victims of poor management; should we expect a guy to come from non-league and start every SPFL game? A gradual introduction, similar to what we would hope to see with more of the 20s, may have been more effective for his development and to the club in the long run.
  20. A lot of talk about shooting the jockey when really he is being asked to ride a bunch of donkeys the stable has provided him I'd put the donkeys down first
  21. Another team come to Fir Park with no ambition, on standby for our mistakes, capitalise when it happens, and leave with 3 points. Story of so many games.
