Heard £1.6m for Marvin, definitely couldn't turn that down
-
Whether or not a contract was offered Leitch in time to warrant a development fee should he leave, could anyone have predicted Leitch would have attracted interest from Upper leagues in england at this stage in his career? He might be the one that got away, but surely we release loads of boys accepting they may go on to have successful careers without a second thought that we may be due something.

If chalmers lasts another 6months I will be surprised.
-
At least Pearson will leave on better terms this time; he done his bit in past 2 campaigns and goes with our best wishes. With the surplus of defenders,an opportunity for the Laing-midfield experiment in preseason? And/or make a good offer to seal Stuart Bannigan?

Hope MFC delegates are all over the fixture rigging! In a balanced league, using celtic and rangers for what they are...the financial draw, then surely the fair approach is 5 teams get celtic twice pre-split and rangers once. Vice versa for the other 5 teams. As well as losing one premium game pre-split, it's likely MFC lose an opportunity for a live TV game. Add in only 1 visit from Aberdeen, then by the end of game 33 we are likely to have one of the lowest average away attendance. Commercially unfair.

Did maxwell not get a trial with Liverpool after the cup final season?
-
Without being disrespectful to our pros, I can't imagine another SPFL or higher level club being ready and waiting to deal for any of our old guard.
-
Needs to stop experimenting with players out of position, multiple games lost when he has sent teams out this way.
-
Gave celtic too much respect in the first half, although the gameplan was probably to put them to sleep in the first and go all out 2nd half. Nearly worked. Truth be told, theres been a big improvement in both individuals and the team over the season, although only got flashes of what we are capable of today. Not many referees will get a pass mark, but everyone in scotland thinks collum is a diddy. How Scott Brown gets away with constant dirty play is beyond me; total thug.

I'd give Leitch a shot rather than Gomis. Was getting frustrated listening to the interviews with media, all the celtic and rangers chat...then Mark McGhee 6m29, "I think we have to score a goal more than them".....fuckin duhhhhhhh Hope so anyway

There is a whole league of average at-best Championship teams, that are not much better than the top 4 or 5 spfl teams. I think Marvin is still developing his confidence and skills, evident in that its only in the latest stretch of games he has been the talent we hoped for. Regardless how developed he currently may be, he is better than league 1 standard; majority of them are awful (route 1, pub stuff), and I can see him transition to Championship just now easily.

Many opinions that Moult is a candidate to be sold flying around - don't see it myself. I would say Marvin is the rare type of player that many clubs down south in championship / top few of 1st division would pay good money for if he was more consistent. Might take McGhee another half season to get him there. Moult is playing with great heart, and has good deal of self confidence. Most goals are in the box though, and there are 4 or 5 guys in SPFL with similar scoring ability. I think he will be here and do well for us for years to come. I could see either Hall, Laing or Kennedy being a nice pickup for an English 1st division club looking to pull in a reasonable defender and could be the first player sold to get some incoming cash. Not keen on Gomis after this season. Will thank him for his efforts and let him return to hearts. We have Leitch waiting for his chance, before a new batch of kids start coming through.

Aberdeen will still think they are in the hunt for the title and all the pressure is on them to collect the points. Hard to predict until we see who is available for us, but a disciplined display could frustrate them, and their attacking fullbacks plus slow centrebacks cam be exposed to our pacey counter attacks. I think there is still points on the table for us before the split, and if we could only get three, immediately I would want them against Inverness to eliminate their top 6 chances. We do have some momentum though and a point would be brilliant against the dons. 3 points would be amazing!

I think Paton should be more concerned if game incidents are being reviewed, then Morris, then maybe McDonald
-
Easy mistake to make. How that doesn't get a red is incredible; Paton should be ashamed of that.

For the combo of the 3x markets you mention, it woyld probably be a "request a bet" / "special". Message Ladbrokes through Twitter.

Same 11 for me to keep the wining momentum going. I do think we are going to need 3 goals to win this. I think they will have some confidence and be dangerous, but we should have some composure with our experienced heads to ride it out and take advantage of their vulnerable back line. No doubt anier or gunning will get a goal. 3-2 'Well

Yip, regardless of opposition, 3 games at home, 1 away. Dundee and St Johnstone occupying spots that us, Inverness and Partick Thistle must fancy. Game at a time, lets see how it goes.

Scottish football is overpriced period. Accies shouldn't be in this league with the pitch and half built stadium. Be good to put a nail in their coffin today. What was the accies/away fans pricing on their recent visit to us? Imrie certainly plays with a chip on his shoulder? Is he a Motherwell fan? He was few rows behind me in main stand at the playoff game back in june.

Repeat of the under 20's midweek result would do nicely; who says we cant score and win on that park!
-
McDonald ran the show. Once the game got going, pass marks for all, although it was a real howler by Ripley which can forgiven since it didnt impact the outcome. Laing was like a phil bardsley in a motherwell jersey, hoping he can kick on. Ben Hall and Cadden looking better every game; finally some prize prospects!
-
2minutes on the park trying to defend a draw is his specialty; you are right, bin him. If we only played players who have have been good for weeks we wouldn't be able to field a 5-aside team!
-
I expect McGhee may tinker with the lineup ----------Ripley----------- Law----Hall----McManus----Hammell Ainsworth--Lasley--Gomis--Pearson -------McDonald---Moult---------- If McDonald is not able to play, I think it will be reshuffle from above to compensate the loss of McDonalds workrate and link-up: ----------Ripley----------- Law----Hall----McManus----Hammell Cadden--Lasley--Pearson--Johnson -------Fletcher---Moult---------- Regardless, Motherwell 2-0 win

Definitely identified the worst 4 teams in the league, but I genuinely believe we have the best squad of this lot. On a different perspective (what the manager gets paid to do...give belief) view it as 6 games to make the top 6, then relegation would not be an issue. Dont think the team have the bottle, but 3 wins from 6 games would be great. Game at a time tho without getting carried away. Partick at home is winnable. Given their game tonight on a heavy pitch, we could catch Thistle cold with a strong fast paced start.
