  1. I assume we’re waiting until after the Euros before announcing new signings, so as not to disrupt our signing targets during the tournament
  2. Crewe Alexandra have signed forward Chris Long from Scottish Premiership club Motherwell on a free transfer. He has agreed a two-year deal and is Crewe's first signing since finishing 12th in League One in 2020-21. The 26-year-old scored six goals in 35 appearances for Motherwell last season, having joined them from Blackpool in the summer of 2019. "As soon as I heard of the interest I felt this was the right move for me," Long told the Crewe website. Long began his career as a trainee with Everton and has also played for Burnley and Fleetwood, as well as having loan spells with four other teams.
  3. BBC Gossip: Forward Ross Callachan is to leave Hamilton Academical after activating a clause in his contract allowing him to walk away for free after relegation from the top flight. (Edinburgh Evening News) Possibly worth a punt.
  4. This is my opinion on next seasons team (No youngsters included as all out of contract this month) Carson if fit/New Goalkeeper O’Donnell, New Defender, New Defender, McGinley New Midfielder, Donnelly If fit/New Midfielder , O’Hara New Attacker, Cole if he resigns/New Attacker, Watt Reserves Morrison, Carson/New Goalkeeper Lamie, Mugabie, Carroll, Grimshaw Maguire, Crawford, Lawless New Attacker
  5. As far as I can see, this is the current position OutCampbellGallagher FoxChapmanDunne PolworthFoleyLongSeedorf RobinsonCole - Offered new contract Loan OutKelly - Would take backNolan - Not sure why we signed him.Magloire - ByeHastie - ByeSmith - ByeRoberts - Away already. Back next season? No idea what youngsters will be away.
  6. Totally agree. Fling yourself in front of the ball. Reminds me of the shit keeper you get at 5s, who turns sideways to avoid getting hit. Think he’s lost in the team. If Gallagher unfit for Wed, give one of the young guys a go.
  7. Main leaves Aberdeen Curtis Main was a surprise signing for Aberdeen two seasons ago. After just seven goals in 42 appearances he's been allowed to leave. Main, Sam Cosgrove and Bruce Anderson have all departed Pittodrie this evening, with Derek McInnes bringing in Fraser Hornby and Callum Hendry. There's still time for one more arrival before midnight....
  8. 25 goals in 195 appearances. He’ll fit right in. one of the grimmest transfer windows in recent years. can’t all be COVID related.
  9. I’d try a midfield diamond Kelly O’Donnell Mugabi Gallagher Carroll Crawford Campbell O’Hara Polworth Cole Watt
  10. Before the transfer window closes, I think we need the following: Central defender to allow Lamie to take his place on the bench. Attacking midfielder as cover for Polworth. Nice to have, but unlikely: Allow Hastie to return to Rangers. Sign up Allan Campbell on a long term deal. Goal poacher similar to Shankland/Griffiths.
  11. Actually, he’s a Boyhood Rangers fan. Said that at one of the Q&As. Doesn’t stop him from giving his all though or mean that he doesn’t care about Motherwell.
  12. What about signing David Turnbull on loan from Celtic. Doesn’t seem to be getting game time...
  13. It always galls me that as a fan owned club, we are like the CIA when it comes to transfer dealings. Surely we deserve to know the details, if nothing else, as a way of ensuring good governance and best value. As to the usual arguments: The other club don't want fee disclosed - Don't sell or buy to that club It let's other clubs know how much money we have - So what, we generally don't pay fees anyway Who cares - I do Let's be known as a club who is open about these sort of things and start treating our fans as adults. Genuinely fed up at the word Undisclosed. It feels like we are being treated like mugs. Feels like Trump "We got a great deal, an amazing deal. We couldn't have gotten a better deal" What was that deal? "Sorry, can't tell you, but take my word for it. Maybe even knowing the details of deals may partly take the sting out of losing yet another player. This is MY opinion anyway.
  14. Good article. Seems like a sensible guy.
  15. Given McGinlay out, this would be my team. Carson Donnelly Gallagher Lambie O’Hara Campbell Hastie Turnbull Polworth Watt Long Really a 3-5-2.
  16. I thought Wigan were very unlucky. The free kick that led to the Fulham goal looked a tad harsh.
  17. Exeter were rank rotten. Well beaten.
  18. Motherwell have added Harry Robinson to the squad on a short-term deal until the end of the 2019/20 season. The Northern Ireland Under 21 international impressed during a training spell, scoring for the reserve side and weighing in with a number of assists in recent weeks. Harry, son of manager Stephen, left Oldham Athletic in the January window. He spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Northern Irish side Crusaders and will spend the remaining few months with Maurice Ross’ side.
  19. What would your team be? For me, it would be: Gillespie Grimshaw Gallagher Donnelly Carroll O'Hara Turnbull Campbell Polworth Long Watt Subs: Carson, Tait, Hartley, Dunne, Hylton, Aarons, MacIver Lacking a central midfielder on the bench, so may bring in Cornelius Thoughts?
  20. To me, the best thing referees can do is to explain the major decisions after the game. This, to my mind, would bring greater respect between fans and referees. Would also give them the chance to admit mistakes (although this part of my thinking is probably a step too far for refs!) Once you hear a referees thinking, perhaps they are not as inconsistent as we think.
  21. 2-1 Ross County for me. We're down to the bare bones and don't have the capacity to make drastic changes. Hope I'm wrong.
  22. Don't know much about Lamie. Was Gallacher and Halkett that stood out for me.
