Mclean, Turnbull and Gordon all touted to head out on loan from what I've heard
-
I can't say I remember him playing for Thistle, but the one real positive I take from this is that we'll never see that wanker Hendrie in our kit again

Ive said it for years that we should try and get Crawford...he'd thrive in a team that wasnt just in the league to make up the numbers.
-
Not quite sure what Brigton Boab has to do with anything. Agreed on the second part, but im not sure Ciftci is the man
-
I remember all this 'football brain' patter when Alan Gow was pretending to play for us
-
Campbell is going to have a great career
-
Not knowing much about these 'events', I take it that it doesnt attract bandsmen from this neck of the woods?
-
Anyone any idea of the kick-off time? Also hear that there is a big walk on in Belfast that day, so ferry prices might be a bit steep?
-
I don't think it will make much difference to his transfer value, it might make a difference to any compensation we'd be due if he runs his contract down though. Campbell though, I reckon has what it takes to play at a much higher level than he is doing with us. Didn't see last nights game, but every report I've seen has him as one of the top performers in a much more advanced role than he is normally used to.

Maybe i'm just getting to an age where I cannae be arsed with it anymore then

My issue, isn't that Motherwell can't win the league, its that no one other than Celtic look like winning the league anytime soon...its a total turn-off. The leagues that Andy has cited such as Italy, may well be getting dominated by Juventus, but we all know that there are Clubs in that country who can put up a better fight against the dominant team over the course of a season, than we can do here.
-
The standard of the Scotland v Togo match was absolutely horrible...hardly an ounce of football played, on a pitch that was rock-solid and bobbly. In my opinion, none of our players stuck out particularly well
-
If thats aimed at me, then for clarification, Celtics dominance of the league is only one of the reasons Im thinking about not renewing...none of the reasons are MFCs fault though, which makes me feel guilty about even considering it, but I got to a point towards the tail end of our league campaign where I was going along to matches on 'auto pilot'
-
While I never agreed with Steelboys berating of Higdon, its painfully awful to me that there is 'something' wrong with Ciftci in terms of his fitness...to be no fitter in his last game, than his first for us suggests that he either doesnt train properly, doesnt eat properly or there is something genetic holding him back.
-
I get where you're coming from...hes a maverick, and on his day can be great to watch, but those days are few and far between, while his fitness doubts are a big, big worry, especially in a smallish squad like ours, where we need everyone at 100% to have a chance of competing. I dont know who else is out there, though I'm sure Robinson does, and if Ciftci is as good as we can get, then so be it.
-
Thats my gut feeling too mate...he was outstanding against Accies, but for every game like that, you'll have 5, 6 or 7 games, where hes blowing out his arse, holding onto the ball too long and diving about like Scott Sinclair

I really wish we had a game this week to get that Cup Final and the ultimate disappointment out of our system. I'm in two minds whether to renew my season ticket for next season...on the one hand, I know that I'll miss the social side of it, and I'm reluctant to take the kids out of that habit of going every week, but I think next season is going to be a difficult one for the team and I also think the league itself is going to be a poor spectacle, with Celtic nailed on to win the league and Livingston almost certain to go back down. I've had my book for 14 straight seasons, and I think I might benefit from a season away from it.
-
Scott Burns is reporting that Cifcti has been offered a pay-off by Celtic and a contract by us
-
I think I seen that we are around 25k fans up on last season, and only played the old firm in one more game...so still well up regardless
-
Agree with that...the criticism of McHugh is ridiculous
-
The Club have tried umpteen ventures over the years to get the wider community to back them on a more regular basis, nothing seems to work over the long-term. You've answered your own question on why people don't go...cash, apathy, TV exposure of other leagues etc etc..I really don't know how they reverse it, although the advertising of games could most definitely be better.

Scottish Cup Final v Celtic (Hampden) 19/05/18 15:00
ONeils4oyarder replied to something else's topic in Club Chat
Not strictly in thinking that we are going to win the cup, but a wee bet that might soften the blow of a loss, was the handicap bet I spotted in Ladbrokes... ...Motherwell with two goals of a start is in at evens. -
I think thats how it will pan out...Aldred in, Kipre out
-
Been saying this all season...Tait has been a great find for us, and while he 'does a job' on the left, he is obviously much more suited to the right. Signing a left-sided wing-back that isnt Hendrie will surely be the priority alongside a couple of strikers and potentially replacements for Carson and Kipre, if the rumours are right.
