  1. dont see how we can have both with the candidates mentioned, anyone from outwith the scottish game wont have time to assess squad and get new faces in...if its hammy etc , they arent going to have the experience...the board and the new manager are already on a hiding to nothing with some posters
  2. thats why i think hammy has to be either boss or assistant at the very least....due to the bad timing of all this, a new face doesnt have time to assess current team and then get replacements in , all in a matter of weeks
  3. Youre basically saying that peoples concerns are to do with Lenno being "Celtic minded", its not mine and i doubt its most people on here. I dont know anything about Healy , but having seen NL interaction with officials etc and thats without all the off field antics
  4. well put colin, shame you have got to clarify things for people deliberately trying to twist things and be "right on" and pc....if he was a good "manager" , then who knows , might be worth a shout but hes not ....
  5. i get what you are trying to say, think people are twisting it trying to be pc , youre right , from a duty of care , why would you put the guy under pressure , there was recent footage of him in cyprus giving the ref pelters.......as tam forsyth once said what we need is the 3 C'S , ..... cool calm heads
  6. when you put it like that, maybe we should consider "him" ,
  7. if its down to football history, then dont appoint him...if its down to man management, dont appoint him
  8. i dont think it is dave martindale but i think we couldve done worse, has worked wonders with Livi.....a lot of it might be down to their pitch? but he gets teams working hard
  9. "Managing" people involves all sort of skills , most of which he doesnt posess,if you thought ga was divisive , you would be in for a shock with yer man i want someone who is going to be devoted to the job ....heard too much about lennon off the park and his other "interests"-- i think if the board do due diligence , he wouldnt even be considered Just to balance things up, kevin thomson, how invested in the job , would he be? Guys can support one of the old firm , but dont need to be promoting them every 5 mins
  10. just not worth the hassle of someone like that, he would get restless and bored pretty quickly , you dont need to like a manager , but the guy has had money before and he wouldnt have it now ..... i actually was happy to see ga get it before tom wright, i still think we got the best deal there...but his time has come and gone
  11. do you remember why the guy left hibs, no discipline, isnt the slightest bit interested in motherwell....he managed a team with a lot more money than anyone else , why would he do a job for us
  12. would rather have danny lennon and i am not joking
  13. too late, posted again before i read this.....lets come up with some names for new manager and get off the sod debate....ill go first....steven odonnell?
  14. not my definition or understanding of ostracise . anyway hopefully new mgr in soon, give posters something else to talk about and sod the chance to prove to me and others he can play.... .i can remember Robinson criticising him too after the euro game in Israel but that wasnt seen as an issue
  15. Ross co probably have slightly bigger budget than us and we finished above them....so would it really be worth poaching him
  16. I didnt read that article as him being ostracised, he was on the bench , so hardly the case. He wasnt made to train with youths or anything.Sod , as good as says in interview that maybe the manager was right to drop him, so that is fairly honest of him. I am still glad ga has gone as it clearly wasnt going well but things are seldom black and white
  17. i am not dismissing valakari, everybody deserves a chance but i read lee erwin is top scorer in finland......he wasnt the worst, but top scorer in the league?
  18. i know wullie colum takes a lot of abuse and its all totally justified, easy to blame refs when you lose but he seems to be a consistent factor for us. I disagree with sportscene pundits, i thought tierney shouldve had a pen, he " bought" it , but players do that all over the park and get a foul, defender got wrong side the sol one was a pen all day long, unfortunately these guys will misuse var and too
  19. different types of players but, at this stage , neither good enough....spittal to be fair has some experience and pedigree
  20. ironically i thought last week v st m , we were definitely in relegation bother, they are going to struggle and were much better than us. I dont think st are better than us , need to see goals lost back but, at least in 2nd half we showed some enterprise and hopefully with a few additions, we could be fine but the defence needs tightening
  21. was that the same fans who thought tom boyd, rab mckinnon were great full backs?
  22. also if we did run our leagues at different times to the english, there may be more tv money. interest etc but we have been saying it for years with no moves to change
  23. i think thatd be good, no frills but gets the best out of meagre resources
  24. how many mistakes did sod have to make before being dropped? I thought GA kept faith with him for a while before leaving him out...i am not a GA fan and glad he has gone ,but i doubt he left thes players out due to "spite" i wish him well tho
