  1. thought sod cme on on sunday and looked quite good but at times was lucky to be getting in Motherwell team , never mind Scotland Woolery again was limited but had great pace, havent heard anything about supposed fall out? Slattery , there may be more to it than simply getting dropped That only leaves Watt, who has doubled his wages Not sticking up for GA but sometimes the truth is a whole lot duller than people want to believe
  2. did robbo not get us out of relegation bother after Mcghee and 2 cup finals and a 3rd place finish? so i suppose , in the main, he will be remembered fondly...
  3. sure i saw darren odea name mentioned....best i can say about that is unknown quantity....i wouldnt mind hammy being a number 2 , but his role at the academy is also vital, maybe moreso. i know these wont be popular and i will be shot down but some random names...dick campbell, dave martindale, craig levein, john mcglynn...not the most glamourous or charismatic and not youngsters list but all scottish and have proven themselves at various stages at smaller clubs
  4. prepared to give cornelius the benefit of the doubt, hes ok , but we need more than ok in the middle of the park see what a new manager/system can do for him...dont think we can salvage maguire, however.
  5. its what makes him a personality in his own mind
  6. judging on that game, they will finish above us...usually a happy clapper but we need some fresh blood, cant rely on kelly bailing us out every week Re midfielders, i dont think Maguire or Cornelius have got it to be creative, good players can slow it down and pick a pass.anyway we bagged 3 vital points
  7. I know it will initially be unpopular but is Craig levein a shout? Helluva lot of experience, bit tarnished by the scotland job , but what manager has gone into that job and been loved?
  8. again sod becoming a saviour by not playing, he was awful last year, so if he is the answer , we are even more goosed than i thought....but its all relative, he is a world beater compared to the left backs
  9. I think people use this "lost the dressing room " line as a cover....sligo were just better , more street wise etc. Their defenders didnt make mistakes like ours, they scored goals , i dont see our guys scoring, ....look at maguires efforts on goal during 2 games and their goals and technique, mugabi defending , carrols touch, i could go on. Thats not to do with losing dressing room, heyre just not very good.
  10. ive never been one to call for manager to go, so why , like a lot of others , are we saying ga must go? There has to be better than this
  11. sunday must be a stick on for a draw, saves both manager's jobs...mind you was sad to see Robbo go, but , sorry Graham , change is required
  12. how are we minnows versus the 5th best team in Ireland? i enjoy European football , a change from the slog v Livingston, St Mirren etc.We cant say we even made any chances v Sligo, utter garbage...ive paid a portion of my season ticket and really dont know whether to just lose it , i want to see some action
  13. i have never called for any manager to be sacked , but there must be better than this..like i said, its context, going out so meekly to the 5th best team in Ireland and losing a good bit of money...also the football is awful to watch
  14. 2 great feet apparently, never been a footballer
  15. despite the fact we could have made a whack of money by progressing..i was prepared to give ga the benefit pending tonight, that was awful
  16. i can tell from your posts, how invested you are, bud...rather read your rational , constructive posts than stream of negativity we get form whoever
  17. think its the old thing of becoming a better player by not playing . i said before we had the worst full backs in spl, ga has addressed the rb position , but not the left.I would be for giving sod a chance at lb , it may work but he was a large part of the defensive problems last year. so on this one , i dont blame the manager
  18. i cant blame GA for not rating sod, he gave away so many cheap goals last season, that doesnt detract from the fact we need a lb too
  19. For whats it worth, on sportsound yesterday, yhey asked the pundits who were relegation candidates. ST j seemed to be popular choice, Jim Duffy reckoned it could be us or St Mirren ...not unreasonable , guy was giving an honest opinion. Ironically none mentioned Livi or Ross C , who must be up aginst it most years
  20. i agree, if he was playing with Airdrie , would bigger teams like us be interested in him? I hope he makes me eat my words on Thursday and slams in a couple of 20 yarders
  21. agree to a point , it is blind loyalty with most of us, but there isnt a player who gets u out your seat. Its all right being pragmatic and if we are winning , just about tolerable but just a bit of flair. Tierney could be the one but is he strong enough?
  22. right back isnt the issue now, if he could do a job at left back, maybe
  23. Maguire really needs to add to his game, e.g a good shot or runs from deep into box , he reminds me of Carswell , just average, the efforts on goal the other night were amateurish
  24. I am prepared to wait till Thursday...I think it is as much context as the performance on Thursday. The chance to progress, make some money and set up a really good tie in next round, if we lose to a League of Ireland team. It would be a major scunner Its also worrying if he thought we played ok the other night, anyway they have a second chance , i hope they take it
