Season 2020’21: Game 5 Hamilton Accies (H)
Great Balls of Shire replied to texanwellfan's topic in Club Chat
The guy can’t win with you , how do you know he’s only looking for sympathy....I am as frustrated as anyone and if he can’t turn it around he’ll need to go but it’s getting personal with you. -

After reflecting on today, the ironic thing is , no team have actually played better football than us....it’s we are too easy to score against , Dundee Utd and today were similar .... no real cutting and a stupid soft goal. That’s why we should still have enough to stay up , but the longer it goes like this , stranger things have happened. -

Showed in glimpses last year , he can be good but looks a moody big bugger, who always needs too many touches -

Who lost their man ? I turned it off after goal, tbf accies had a few chances without doing anything spectacular, -

Over the piece, he has done well, but it is a hard watch at the moment. He is not enhancing his reputation, which was high, before the start of the season. In true Motherwell style, just when things should be good, we are blowing it. i don’t want to tempt fate, but if we are not competing at top end of table, it gives the season some meaning if we are at the other end....I know that won’t be a popular opinion. We have lots of the ball but don’t look dangerous, two wingers who can beat a man, but are luxury players, Its a pity we can’t have Turnbull and Polworth together , the 2 best footballers, Campbell in there for dig....if we lose Campbell and Turnbull, it could be a long season. Tony Watt needs a chance before Long....we are easy to defend against and easy to score against, apart from that it’s looking good. Surely we will beat Glentiran and go in a memorable European run. -
I found him very frustrating at international level but he might do a job for us, if he’s any good , he’ll be moving on anyway

Robinson... How Do We Think He's Doing ?
Great Balls of Shire replied to postiejim's topic in Club Chat
I don’t buy the “ lose the dressing room” thing....players , especially at smaller clubs are playing for win bonuses and are motivated by money , that’s not to say they don’t have professional pride too. Sometimes they’re just not very good. -

If that’s accurate re touches, that tells you a lot , Dykes having nearly 4 times as many touches as Long -

I don’t like having a pop at players but Grimmy is really limited , he just seems to run the direction he’s facing.....if he’s playing defence he’s got to keep switched on , too many goals coming down the right -

Probably means while they’re here , they should put a shift in ? Then the move may come -

Going by the games against them, I thought we were better Than Ross Co and should finish above them , Dundee Utd was 50/50 and could go either way -

I really don’t think White has been that bad , unlucky not to have bagged a couple of goals between Sat and last night...problem for me is Long , takes too many touches, even Campbell’s goal came from him losing the ball . There was also a breakaway in 2 nd half where he lost it rather than pass. The fact Robbo said about players looking for a move makes me think he’s got to be one of the players singled out. -

I don’t think Grimshaw will be one , the guy tries but he’s just not very good ....Our best performance was v Ross Co. Only consolation is there’s not really home or away games now, so onwards and upwards. -
Fair dues , We’re about the same vintage then , lad , but my opinion still holds. The cup final team and then the 93/94 team were great but the financial gap is too much now to challenge consistently.
-
Thanks , probably complicated how they work that out but they do have more of a European pedigree than us.
-
Yodel....what was favourite season as a well fan and how long have you been following them, cos if you don’t think Robinson has done a reasonable job , it’s not Motherwell you’ve been following.
-
Why are we seeded in first round but not the second, while the 4 th placed team ( Aberdeen) are seeded ?
-
We maybe need more midfield runners to help Long? Like O’hara But didn’t see too much from him yesterday.....maybe another who hasn’t had a proper preseason.
-
You’re way too sensible for this forum, bud....
-
Hartley and Tait were great in their day for us but their absence is being used as an excuse for poor start....players always become better in their absence. Calum Lang looked good and am sure he’ll be an asset, soft sending off has scuppered us there too. Long has assets but isn’t clinical enough and for me takes too many touches. Getting things in perspective we should have beaten Ross Co, yesterday we looked short of ideas to be fair, but if we had 4 points out of 6 , it wouldn’t be undeserved.
-
He didn’t sign Frear..who wasn’t as bad as made out
-
Whatever the st up , Grimshaw shouldn’t be in it .....
-
Even if you’ve only got one trick , it can be an asset, e.g cut inside and rattle it , he’s got pace too, which is never a bad thing ....he needs to work on his crossing but am sure Robbo can do that
-
Time he said to us ‘ take me I’m yours”
-
He’s definitely found wanting at international level....might do a job but I reckon he will be looking for a big money move, so why burst bank for an average player
