Miller may just need a break - he's played lots of game for someone young. Equally wonderful if this is to force his hand to extending contract. Delighted to have S'OD back. he's everyones first choice when when the chips are down, can't see anyone moaning about that 😉

We're in an odd position with SK. If we brought in a mgr with a win 50% win percentage fans would be delighted. It's the feast/famine that is hard to take. Albeit no-one complained when we had the feast. Had there been an even spread of wins/defeats draws over the last 30 games, with a 50% win rate I reckon we'd all be reasonably satisfied with progress. It's the run of 7 games without a win that kills the mood and creates an intolerance. Coupled with recent games not creating any real chances. A similar famine killed off the likes of McCall, Robinson and to a lesser degree Alexander. All clubs good through good/bad spells, we could do with ours being less polarising. SK needs to turn things around and we do need to start winning games but give him the opportunity to do it.

It wasn't great. It's the first time our formation looked all over the shop. Killie had 6 shots on goal to our 1. I don't think for a moment players have downed tools , more lack of confidence and lots of individual errors. Example Kelly was poor at the goal, which is a real shame has he'd a couple of very good saves before they scored. I don't remember their keeper having a save to make to be honest, we didn't lay a glove on them.

I'm hoping we return to winning ways - 3 points will make a huge difference I'd set the team up as 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 depending how you look at it. This is due to personnel rather than any benefit/magical formation. Several players could be replaced and it's an either/or situation. The way I see it is I'd have players in their natural positions and go back to a formation that everyone is familiar with. Kelly/Oxborough McGinn Butcher Casey Spencer Slattery/Spittal Davor/Miller Paton Gent Bair/Wilkinson/Shaw Mika

Completely with you . The short term view of many baffles me - albeit I understand the emotion. a few months ago this board was full of ‘the ketttle is boiling ‘ a few bad performances and we’re ready to bin him ?! When you look at the size of crowds , coupled with not having a wealthy benefactor where do people think we should be in the league ? 8th - can’t really argue with that . Performances have been poor for last 3 games but that’s what happens with confidence . Today I think SK lost the plot with his formation , several bad decisions and it’s the first post match assessment that I felt he’s hidden from the facts but until now he’s delivered pretty decent return . He deserves time to show what he’s made of . See where we get to in the next 8 or so games . Suspect we’ll pick up points .

McCall wasn't good enough for the championship with either Ayr or Partick. Both teams got relegated . He hasn't had a decent record since 2002 and is now 60. We all have opinions , just surpises me that his name crops up. A few weeks ago we were going fine. I'd personally give SK time to turn things around.

we have - we signed Gent on a season long loan. Whether the boy is good enough is a different question.

The mark of a good manager is how he turns things around when going gets tough . When SK first came in he did the simple things well . Went to a 5-3-2 that pivots to a 3-5-2 moving forward All players knew their role and worked hard . Generally players were played on their natural position . we didn’t sign any wide players by choice , we signed players to fit this formation . Today’s tactics were all over the place . Several players in strange positions . SK needs to go back to basics . He’s a bright manager and sees the obvious , he needs to get back to his own game plan .

Another clueless performance reminissent of GA and SHs tenure . zero shape or clue to what we’re doing
-
It’s a complete joke . We play with zero width - we try and muscle our way through the middle - complete waste of time and for whatever reason we seem to play with a 2 man midfield - utter bollocks
-
Appreciate Mika needs to come off . thought we’d bring on shaw for Mika bring on Slattery for McGinn
-
You could have put just about any of our players in that statement
-
McGinn is complete waste of space as a wingback - no harm to him but he has zero creative skill need to see some change - this game is going nowhere
-
Kelly should have done better killie now had 6-7 shots on target we’ve had zero the game plan - whatever the plan is isn’t working
-
Looks like a form of 3-2-2-2-1 . That swaps into a 5-4-1 honestly not sold on the shape or formation. That said when we have 3 up front Wilkinson looks far better
-
Lack of goal threat is frustrating . i get that we need to close door and stop shipping goals . First half thought our shape was weird with several players out of position . still in the game though

Pitch is a disgrace and an embarrassment to Scottish football standards on the positive butcher is back - liking him refereeing the ref
-
We look to have almost all outfiled players on the right hand side of the park - very lopsided
-
David - agree that the present is now what matters. Had we lost the 19 games last season it would matter as we'd be calling for SKs head. Key point for me is not to judge any manager on a run of 10 games or 5 games.
-
Good to see ringing the changes - that's a positive sign. Re formation I'm thinking Bair is being played behind the strikers - which would make sense as he's a bing strong unit. Surprised Davor doesn't make a start - now seemed an obvious time to give the boy a go.
-
you nailed it. Was looking at the stats - first 5 games we averaged 5-6 shots on target per game, more than double the opposition. That's slumped to 2-3 shots on target v's opposition with double what we offer. Need to reverse that trend , best form of defence being attack.

Two that I remember with fondness Hugh Sproat and Big Sieb. Any keeper willing to swing on the bar or ready to destroy anyone who came into his box is a winner in my eyes.
-
I've got a great deal of empathy for Kelly. He's the last line of defence and should have much better support from the rest of the team. Yes I think he could have done better with some of the goals recently but as I see it, he's offered very little protection. Examples from last 2 games. Wilkinson up front. Nothing stuck, he gave the ball away. Teams have been walking through the midfield with very little to stop them. Defenssively basic errors, not marking and not defending the 6 yard box. Our keeper doesn't deal with with crosses, we know this but he makes up for it in other qualities. He needs to take some accountability but we're not losing games because of him. Be careful what you wish for, assuming we can get a better keeper than someone who's kicking around the Scotland squad is a dangerous assumption to make.

This seasons win record is 30%, if this continues we will be concerned but it's only 10 games. Had we won an additional game it would be 40%, more than respectable for any Well manager. From the 29 games SK has managed we have a win record of 52%. Awesome, that's up there with the best of them. Assuming we can improve from 30% to +35% for the season we'll be fine. The key for now is breaking the run of form and finding a way to win.

one option that may help is play Butcher in the position that you have Davor. Just in front of the defence. A midfield with Miller, Davor, Butcher, Paton would be hardworking albeit lack a bit of creativity. Slattery/Splittal could do with time on the bench. Neither are great when the going get's tough.
