  1. Distinct lack of quality by both teams - if there was ever a game we could and should win it’s this one
  2. fair play - this is as strong a team as we have available. Been wanting to see Spencer/Gent on the wingback roles fo a while. Equally been keen to see Davor
  3. I fondly remember the chants for Stevie Cowan & Joe McLoead. "he's fat , he's round, he's worth a million pound " Not sure fat shaming was intended. or "there's only 1 Joe Mcleod.......fan" was probably hard for the player to take but intended as a bit of fun. Much preferred these chants than the dogs abuse people like S'OD have had. I've no doubt he and others are doing their best, it seems that unless a player chases every ball, puts in tough challenges they're likely to be called out as a wage thief /similar. Frustration should be vented to the chairman, manager not the guys on the park trying to make it work.
  4. Lambie like others cost us goal after goal . Was more the problem than any solution. for what it’s worth I’d drop the 3 man centre half and opt for the extra midfield man. Time to drop sod . Put Spencer right back , gent left back (sorry say this every week ) Have Davor , Paton in defensive mid with Slattery and spittal further up Mika and whoever he wants as his strike partner - prob obika this is what I hope we refer to as basics - play people in the natural postions
  5. Back in the day, when the team were playing poorly I loved the cry "just give us a body" from the terraces. If we couldn't win, serving up some serious challenges tended to cheer us all up. Bring back physcho. Simpler times
  6. I think SK has lost the plot. As well spoken as he is infant of camera the narrative has changed a lot recently. He always did mention low budget but he's gone from talking about shape and dong the simple things well as group to pointing out individual errors. The shift from we're all in it together to it's not my fault it's the players is unacceptable. He's the guy who put a 2 man midfield on the park when we needed to shore up midfield. I don't see him really taking responsibility , more positioning himself for it not being his fault when the hammer comes.
  7. Agree re Daws . It’s a joke that 30 players signed only 7 left and the could see there 4th manager in small space of time . the article on bbc could have been written by @David , very similar points that he outlined last week . chairman needs his backside kicked , can’t be that hard to get a ceo , not hard to spot recruitment issues and that’s 2 rookie managers that he’s hired . dont blame SH or SK for going for the role but club are being lazy . it’s clear that recruitment is brutal , clear that if smaller squad we should pay higher salary for better talent . sadly it’s also clear that SK has lost the plot with formations and the 7 players who have cost other managers their job don’t have the quality required to save SK . quite a bit needs to happen beyond just sacking a manager https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67636847
  8. I’m beyond defending SK. he started well , had a clear plan , got rid of lots of poor players only to lose sight of said clear plan , make horrendous signings and lose grip of any credible approach . time to sign a manager with experience who has a positive record . equally time to bin the recruitment team - it’s been a joke for seasons
  9. That’s where I’d go as well . Youngish manger but several hundred games under his belt and a very decent win record
  10. Midfield has been a struggle for months with teams dancing through us with ease . tonight we played with 2 - neither of them defensively minded . shocking decision. Absolutely shocking
  11. Personal view - hire someone who’s already in a job. pay the signing on fee rather than forking out compensation . someone like Ian Murray who’s done well in the championchip or Dave Challinor who’s worked wonders at Stockport managers who have hundreds of games with +40% win record in lower leagues but still hungry to do more is where I’d look .
  12. completely agree. We're averaging less than a point a game and won 3 games from 15. Unless we improve we're on track to be bottom 2 (based on how the league has played out in recent years) Need to improve the win ratio.
  13. thats good news. If we could get back to McGinn, Butcher & Casey as the back 3 we'd be a bit stronger.
  14. Since being a sole manager he's managed 54 games and won 38%. Not brilliant but good enough for us (if sustained) This season our league our win rate is 20%. After 15 games it's no longer a throw away stat. Thats Malpas level poor and almost certainly bottom 2 if you look over the history books. Those running the club have a lot to answer for. Need for a CEO , longer term strategy, invest in youth etc. Spend money on a manager with a proven record. Example Stockports manager has over 700 games and a win record of +50% . Closer to home Ian Murray has over 300 games as a manger with a +40% win record. These are the types of managers we should be looking at. Rather than picking up someone who's been booted out for being poor elsewhere , hire someone a club actually wants to keep and who may want to step up a level.
  15. Brutally cold weather. Team not won since summer months. Need to buy xmas presents. Quite impressed 3.5K well minded fans committed to the cause.
  16. Surprised so many votes for Bevis - for central defender his positioning is often left wanting . that said not easy to pick a winner .
  17. For me SOD switches off and doesn’t really any much value . It’s poor that he’s had so many contract extensions. what frustrates me is Spencer was brought in to replace him and has been pushed to left back . just play Spencer in his natural position please
  18. Hammell had lost the plot and lost the dressing room. the 4-3-3 we were playing was killing us. SK came in, changed formation and got things moving well. During this time we had Defence. Johnstone, Mcginn, Butcher, Casey, Butcher Midfield. Spittal, Goss, Slattery, Strikers. Obika & KVV I suspect the majority of "well fans would prefer that starting 11 to the one we had today. Other than Mika I don't believe we've improved any of the squad. Mugabi, SOD, Paton all being first team picks, with even worse sitting on the bench. I really don't believe we've improved what we had in terms of players. In addition to that we've lost the basics and really have no obvious game plan. @Great Balls of Shire I'm not calling for the managers head but I'm frustrated that after his very positive start he's made a chops of signings and in last few months lost the plot with game plan. There's a fair amount we need to sort out.
  19. He did basics well a year ago - Hammell had lost the plot . hes lost the basics and brought in utter dross . hes not doing well - I don’t think there can be a debate that we have better players now than 12 months ago - we simply don’t
  20. We’re a significsntly worse team that when SK arrived . When he first came in mugabi and sod were no where near the first team. we now have a right back playing left back , a centre half in midfield , piss poor midfielders , one decent loan striker and the rest dross . Three months of being absolutely dreadful and no signs of sorting the basics
  21. Officials doing their best to distract us . were now playing with 1 midfielder
  22. 3 man midfield just doesn’t work for us . Teams waltz through us . Hard to believe Davir not good enough in addition we dont put any pressure on the opposition - we sit off them the basics that SK initially brought are a long and distant memory .
  23. What a difference having a striker who can hold the ball and bring others into the game
  24. Exactly what we need . Early goal and getting ourselves in front
  25. Fair to say all perm recruitment was poor and thus far complete waste of money. If SK hadn't pleaded poverty so often perhaps people would be less annoyed about Bair . Even if washers it's a waste of time, money and resources.
